Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm thinking ahead as I know the FL sites are hard to get. We plan to start FT early summer 2021. We would like to be in So. Florida next winter for 3-4 months. We will (hopefully) have a 43' 5er. I'd be very interested in your recommendations for favorite RV parks!
So hubby and I are FINALLY getting ready to purchase our RV and truck and we need some help! We are leaning toward the DRV MS Atlanta and would love your opinions on a truck. We definitely want a hauler body. Thoughts and suggestions to get us going in the right direction? Thanks in advance!
I suspect I have a bad light switch, as one day it turned the light on and the next day it did not. It happens to be "paired" with another switch and that one turns on the lights that it is connected to. A search on this forum made me realize I need a multi meter. A search on Amazon showed a lot of them, from 10.9...
So we are planning to go full time in 2021. We haven't made our rig purchases yet but plan to over the winter. We currently live in NY and our kids live here also. So.....domicile. We are considering FL as it seems to make sense for us - we've vacationed there and its possible after traveling we would put so...
OK guys and gals here's my dilemma. I will be towing a 2004 Ford F150 HD with a GVWR of 8,200 lbs. I will have it loaded fairly close to that with a 1,000 lb motorcycle and other stuff. The coach I'm looking at has a hitch with a capacity of 7,500 lbs for a non-weight distributed hitch and 12,000 with a weig...
Our 2012 AWD Chevrolet Equinox needed to be towed 3 times in 3 weeks, so now we have a new toad. The Equinox problem was the negative battery cable, which caused the starter to fail. Anyway it had 122,000 miles on it, the blue book values were low, and we lost trust in it. The Escape is fancy, fancy with l...
I have been using an On The Go water softener for about 3 years (it is the 16,000 grain model). It is heavy and as I age, it seems to get heavier 😉. Been thinking about replacing it with two 8,000 grain units ... connected in series, it should offer the same amount of softening but each unit would weigh hal...
Hello all, I will be installing a solar system in my Forest River, lexington210, motorhome. Of course I will listen to all advice but my concern, because the space I intend to use for batteries and controls will be below the couch/bed. The use of AGM batteries takes care of the gas venting concerns b...

What is Beeline Highway from Phoenix to Payson like for driving a 34" MH towing a Ford Explorer? We are experienced RV'rs but like to check out the highways before taking off. Is it narrow, steep, curvy few passing lines or pull off areas? Heavily traveled in summertime? Thanks in advance. Fr...

As many of you know my wife and I are going to be going full-time in the spring next year. We are getting ready to fulltime in four months and my husband is a diabled veteran. We get free camping here in WA state at state campgrounds. I wondered if there is a National organization that provides discounts to veterans?

First, I'm not starting this topic to debate the merits of having an extended warranty. We have one, it's expiring and we plan to renew or find a new warranty. Given the number of repairs we've had and the cost of the warranty, we have come out far ahead, our rig is only getting older so I don't expect the...
Looking for feedback and opinions on Central Vac systems compared to just using a portable...like say a small Dyson. Would love to hear some pros and cons, and be better equipped to make a decision that is right for us. Thanks
What is the best type of tires to use on an RV like my 2012 Dutchmen Denali trailer? I have been online window shopping on Tire Rack and 4wheelonline and their wide selection left me confused. I would like to order a new set of tires for my RV but I am confused on what to get.-- Edited by ideshine on Tuesday 1...
Thanks for letting me join. We,(wife and I) just sold our 2800 sq ft house and downsized to our 24 RK Trail Runner. We will be upgrading to a 5er soon. Looking at a Grand Design 337RLS. The wife just retired from Government service, working for the Coast Guard and Homeland Security. I retired from the US...
After two years of barely acceptable comfort, we decided we had to replace or improve the original mattress in our TT. Before our four month trip last year we added a 2" foam topper which was an improvement, but not much of one. Our TT has a Murphy Bed (which we love). Some toppers were quite heavy, and I...
Hi, everyone, My wife and I are considering purchasing a Class B RV (Van Conversion). We're retired, in our mid-60s. First time we've purchased an RV. We're considering getting a used 2006 Pleasure Way Traverse. Here are a couple of questions: 1. What's the best way to determine the real value of th...
Good Afternoon All: I have been researching autotransformers today and wondered where some of you have them physically located and where are they wired into your system electrically. What make and model transformers do you have. It appears the autotransformer manufacturers have taken the...
Queen size hide a bed sofa, 2004 is going to be replaced. Have had the 5th wheel a couple of years and the wife refuses to sit on it. Looking for a couple of recliners with cup holders. Berkliner used to make a "wall away" that could be positioned almost against the wall and reclined by sliding out. Have not...
We have a 2016 Ram 3500 DRW with 22,000 miles, and the front tires show considerable wear on the outside. We are researching replacement tires and would like to know what tires others are successfully using -and where to purchase. We tow an 18,000 pound Heartland Landmark 5th wheel. We are looking...
As some of you may or may not know my wife and I are planning in moving into an RV full time in the next couple of years. One of the things she is worried about is making muffins, she loves them. Most of the coaches we have been looking at have combination microwave/convection ovens. Will these bake thin...
I saw a post about wanting an RV Port home in Texas
I am interested in the same for Texas but also I have an RV port home in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina
hi, We are in final prepartaiton to leave on thursday for an extended trip, plan to return in November. I am not a cook but THE WIFE is, what is the consensus on whether or not to take an electric fry pan? Would one use it often enough to take it? We have been traveling on our boat and did not use it as we anchor...
