Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Think I’ve logged it to see whats happening everyday since I found this site in 2006. (The forum was a bit later than rv-dreams but I read them both daily) will be missed..........
Damn - totally made me tear up typing that “subject” Back in the summer of 2013, I started researching this crazy full-time RV lifestyle. My husband thought I was nuts. He loved the idea of it but never thought we could do it before official retirement because it would be too expensive. We were both 48 y...
We currently have Michelin LT225/75R16E. We need to buy a new tire to replace spare. When we good the rug weighed it was suggested we upgrade tires when it comes time to replace them, but I do not recall what the upgrade should be. Came anyone help with that information.
We need to replace the batteries for our motorhome. The two that are in the compartment are large, at least the size of 3 car batteries each.
When I Google RV battery I get a selection of deep cycle batteries, but they appear regular size.
We stay at places that have electricity, so I'm looking for a "ba...
Bilstein Shocks absorbers for RV and Motorhome Chassis can improve overall stability while reducing sway and bounce. The ride's consistency, handling, and control would all improve, resulting in a smooth and relaxed ride. You will drastically improve the ride of your motorhome by replacing you...
This was the top of the line in 1993, with a list price of $350,000. We've had it since March, 2013. The floorplan is that of the Special Edition, although I see nothing inside or outside of the coach to specify that. In the time we've had it, we've done the following: 2013: Repaired leaking hub seals on re...
Interesting, but eye-opening, article/video highlighting the risk of a fire occurring while RVing. This RV happened to be a Newmar, Dutch Star. We have decided on a DP as well, so I'll be interested to see the facts revolving around this fire while traveling down the highway. Ross Thompson, id...
We have been keeping our blog since 2012 and have really enjoyed doing it BUT I have decided to branch out and push myself into something less comfortable, a Vlog or a YouTube channel. We have been doing it for a few months now and it's slowly starting to grow so I figured we would share it here in case anyo...
Just a quick question, do dually wheels help in increase the towing capacity of an RV? I plan to get it from 4wheelonline if it does. :) -- Edited by ShantiFei on Wednesday 28th of April 2021 09:16:20 AM
Just wanted to post a thank you to Howard and Linda and all the others that have provided us with valuable FREE information over the years. Back in 2016 when we started we were complete newbies without a clue. This forum was a tremendous resource for information. Understandably things are winding dow...
See bit.ly/2014LTV for our complete video/photo collection. Our rare 2014 Leisure Travel Van (LTV) Free Spirit is built on a 4-cylinder, 7-speed, Mercedes Sprinter 3500 (dually) chassis, capable of achieving 20+ MPG, has only 33K miles, only 34 hours on the generator, new front tires, and num...

I knew this would be the place to ask our question(s) about bed clearance. We are zeroing in on one or two different 5th wheels...

First trip by RV. I'm looking for a campsite around the Kennedy Space Center Florida for 3 days in February 2021. They are all reserved even if I am a year early. Do you have any suggestions for a place to sleep apart from the grounds? Can we spend the night on the streets or other advice? I have a 24 foot Fore...
The new year has brought great news.... I am officially in remission from Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. I found out on Christmas Eve that my final bone marrow biopsy showed that I was cancer free. GREAT NEWS!!! In the last few weeks I have started to get my strength and stamina back. We decided to do our fir...
I havent found this topic yet so forgive me if a repeat question and also for my lack of technical terms. The "frame" that holds the shower knobs on our 5th wheel interior shower has cracked. Hubby caulked it as a temp fix. Is repkacement of the shower assembly something that can be done by a person with ba...

Have a 2wd Colorado P/U and want to flat tow it. I’m told by others that I can have a driveshaft disconnect installed which will allow me t9 flat tow it. Would like to chat with others that have used the driveshaft disconnect. Thanks
Greetings: Friends of mine were shut down two weeks ago after buying "contaminated fuel" at a truck stop in Oklahoma. He had three hard starts, one at the pump at the TS, but the F250 pulled their 15,000 pound fifth wheel into Amarillo, TX just fine once it started. Just from this alone, I'm just not...
we have a 2019 Chevy Colorado 2wd and want to flat tow behind our 2020 Newmar KSDP 40’. I’m told I can have the driveshaft disconnect installed to flat tow. Have a company in Houston that will install everything and wanting to chat with others that have done this.
My husband & I have lived in our Landmark 5th wheel since 2016 on our families 13 acres. Our home base I suspect. We recently bought a 2000 National Dolphin to "camp" in which we do on the weekends during the summer. Working on paying off our debt (we are almost there!) so that we can hit the road full t...
I need to replace our Maytag washing machine (not a combo unit). I'm really having trouble finding a washing machine that is slim enough (depth-wise) to fit. Out current washer is 23.5 inches deep. Can anyone recommend a slim washing machine?
I joined RVillage back when it was new, but eventually dropped out because most of what I saw there was a duplicate of what was posted on other forums I was on. We're now looking at a different brand of RV, and it seems that there is more discussion on that brand's section on RVillage than on the actual owne...
