Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I know that running the generator and house AC units while underway is a common practice with motor home owners. It seems to me that the same could be done with a 5th wheel as the equipment is basically the same ... I’ve never done this, but it seems doable ... it would have a side benefit of exercising the...
For those that have this bus, we have been looking for a couch and dining booth option since having recliners only won't work for having a place for our dogs to lay down during travel. We didnt realize this when we visited a dealer but now cant find that option online. Is it a custom order only? There has to...

The significant decrease in activity on the RV-Dreams forums over the last year or two saddens me. I respond whenever someone posts a question and I think I might have something useful to say, but I'm also guilty of not starting new topics on this forum as often as I should. That said, the RV-Dreams spri...

I crossed into Mississippi earlier this month and saw a sign that read "All Vehicles Over 5 Tons Must Enter Weigh Station Next Right". It's about a mile or so inside Mississippi from Alabama on the westbound side of I-20. I thought a good thread to post this may be where those researching buying...
Morning everyone. I’ve been wondering about how toads track behind a motor home when turning. Specifically, do they track inside of the back wheels so you have to allow more room or not?
I often see people asking how to do something after they bought their RV, something that would have been much easier with a different RV choice. When someone has the nerve to point that out you can even learn why they made the choice. Often it is because they did not know that this something made them sp...
Hi all, I tried the search feature but could not find anything. We have a 2020 Winnebago 31k with a 2019 Ford E450 V10 6.8 L 305 HP set up. We just got the camper a month ago and on our second trip on the way back the wrench warning light indicator would flash on then off intermittently. When we got home w...

Greetings My Fellow Romans: If you are thinking about under-rear-seat storage, may I suggest you look at the Tuffy Security Products lock box for crew cab models. I have no interest in Tuffy Security Products. I just recently bought this storage box for my 2020 Sierra 3500 I recently ordered and...

Hello all, Steve and Teresa Karolek from Pewaukee, WI. My parents had a pop-up when I was young and I've been a tent camper since my earliest days as a scout. Teresa and I have enjoyed many wonderful camping experiences and decided it is time to "graduate" to a trailer. My tow vehicle (RAM 3500 w/ max tow a...
Hello all. My husband and I just joined this group and looking forward to gaining knowledge from others. I have learned from friends that some of them use an electric cooking plate to not use as much propane. If you use this, which cooking plate do you recommend? Also, which metal pots do you recomm...
When we shower, we push the button on the top of the shower head to decrease the water flow while we soap up. There is a trickle of cold water & when we turn the water back on to rinse, the water is always very cold for several seconds. This has happened with all of our campers. Does anyone know why th...
We have a curved radius shower & I find the floor to be a little slippery. I don't really like the appliques that you stick on the floor of the shower. I'd like to get a mat to put in the shower but can't find any in the curved shape. Just wondering if anyone else who has a curved shower has found a mat to...
Ok, I am newish to RVing, and love it already. I bought a (used) 2018 Viking 21rd duel axle 25' tow behind and started out happy as a pup. BUT, before I made the 1 1/2 hr drive home. the screen on the Tekonsha p3 controller started saying "overload no brakes" or "SHORT CIRCUT NO BRAKES" ........ Long story n...
We are trying to maximize the use of our F350 8 foot truck bed and tow a 5th wheel. Considering purchasing GatorTrax Tonneau Cover that will lock in any position along the rail. Any thoughts or recommendations? Check out this link www.gatorcovers.com/GatorTrax/Tonneaus.
I have read recently that rules or regulations are in the works for banning the use of autoformers. The logic given seems reasonable, while an autoformer will help protect the user's household or Rv circuitry, it does so pulling pulling amps from the same circuit that others are drawing power from t...
Just a Hello. I have been lurking around several sites over the last year doing research and planning for retirement in a couple years then full time travel. By doing my research now we have made a purchase of a 2019 Mobile suites 36RSSB3 and a nice truck to pull it with Dodge 3500 dually. This is the firs...
I've given up on towing my 2008 two wheel drive F150, because of the rust issue from living in a salt environment for the last 12 years and the mileage in excess of 200,000. To replace it I've purchased a 2004 F150 4x4 with a manual transfer case so I can flat tow it. This is a southern truck with no rust so a...
I searched but didn't see anything. We are getting some quotes to replace all our tires and Walmart was recommended as the cheapest but it looks like they won't mount and balance??? I would like to avoid dealer prices if at all possible but are their other alternatives. Just had our first flat tire an...
While researching the fulltime life style we learned so much by reading what Linda & Howard and may others shared about the life style so now one time per year we do a analysis of some of our costs and experiences and share them as well in hope we can also be of some type of help to someone. Sort of payin...
Is anyone headed for the “BigShow” in Quartzite on January 18-26? We are planning to camp out on Paloma Road in the 14 day free camping area for 3 or 4 days in the middle of the week. It would be fun to meet-up and camp together. We will be camping near where last years boondocking gathering took place. ...
