Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I may have posted that subject line backwards. We arrived at our new job in CA and love it here. Very beautiful and very nice over 55 Escapees community. But we are having to leave already. First, our travel trailer suddenly developed serious electrical problems (after we arrived the other day) and we...
Distant Network Service (DNS) is the ability of mobile satellite TV users to get east coast (New York) and/or west coast (Los Angeles) network feeds in lieu of local stations (ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC). RVers are required to submit an affidavit of mobility with RV registration data to be eligible for this...
We are not quite finished here in Goshen but I will tell you that when we leave it will be as very satisfied customers of Keystone RV. I would not hesitate to recommend a Keystone product to anyone in the future. On another note, it looks like we have a workamping job! This will be at a resort in Missouri a...
Hello All, Now that we're living off our huge SS checks, we're being told that if we not married my wife would get more money. She was approved for medicare and disability then 3 days latter got a letter saying it was rescinded because I made too much money. She needs cataract surgery, no fun being on the r...
I have been reading alot of the topics discussed here and I must say, you all are a very friendly group. That is refreshing! My husband and I have made the disision to sell our home and become full timers after my baby( he is 18) graduates in june 2011. I have many mixed emotions about this. I will miss our ho...

I've been a stalker for quite a while, enviously reading of everyone's adventures. DH and I are still working and will be for about another 10 years. In the meantime, we try to get away when we can in our 2005 Cedar Creek 5th Wheel. But as soon as we hit retirement age, it's sayonara baby to the sticks an...
Well looks as though we have our 1st work-camping gig lined up for next summer. We got a call Saturday from the owners of a Rv campground in Custer SD. after the interview we were asked to join their team. Sharon and I decided today if the offer was still on the table we would give it a go. Our ho...
We are getting closer to buying our RV, so I'm trying to find some things that will work well to use in it. Has anyone used microfiber rugs? Or are there any other rugs or floor coverings that you have found useful?
While I continue to toil on the thought of which RV might best fit us in our future lifestyle I always come back to either a 26-29 foot class C or a 30 to 32 foot class A. Now either way we will be purchasing a used vehicle so I continue to research what the gotchas are in the used RV market. My wife and I hope to be...
Hi Linda, I see that you and Howard are doing Weight Watchers. I'm a 10 year weight watcher person, and I just wanted to give you a couple of hints that really help me and my family. Four of us have been doing it for a looooooong time! Some of our favorite treats are: Kashi TLC Granola bars - MOST of these...
On the second day of work being done on our Montana, I give a thumbs up to the crew at the Service Center. The quality of craftsmanship is what we expected to see in the first place on our unit. We are still at the Best Western courtesy of Keystone. We are unsure of when we will be back in our home, but are gra...
Perhaps this isn't new but I just learned about "Scentsy Flameless Candles" and thought they were a great product for RVers. I am not selling these although I do know this consultant. Check them out at: https://dorrielane.scentsy.us/Browse
Joan and I took the RV out to a local park for the weekend and invited the grandkids to come along. After a full day of swimming we wanted to dry the towels so they could be used again the next day. This was the first occassion to use the washer/dryer since we bought the RV in August. Read through the user manu...
I've seen a lot of comments about winterizing your rig. What exactly does that mean? I guess I need to know what is involved when parked by my home and also when on the road with it. Now I live in the south, so we don't have many days of freezing temps...however the last two winters we had snow! So, I may n...
Okay, I was looking online at dealer in my state over the weekend and found the following:2004 Ford Super Duty F-350 King Ranch Truck Crew Cab Long Bed 4x46.0L Turbo Diesel, 53,500 Miles, Dually, Tow Package, 12v Power Outlet, etc. They want $25,990 for this. What I don't know from the site is the gear r...
In helping our relatives look at RV's this past week, one of the issues that has surfaced that directly relates to their even being able to consider the full-time lifestyle is being able to get their prescriptions via the Veterans Administration. Both are diabetics, Roxie gets her insulin via pills...
Just a quick question to the full-timers from a gonnabe. I was just curious to know if Thanksgiving day is just another day on the road or do you make a traditional meal in your RV's? I know those ovens can be a little small and you probably wouldn't cook a 20 lb. bird for two people anyways. Happy Thanksgiv...
We arrived safe and sound in Goshen, IN today. We are warm for the first time in about two weeks, courtesy of Keystone RV. See my blog for details. Cheers, Betty
Jeff and Nedra here. Looking forward to fulltiming in a couple of years. Got my fiance into camping a couple of years ago, and she just loves it! (Both of us are widows) I have done camping before, as I also have worked on rvs for over 20 years. We had a small georgie boy class a motorhome, for about a year, to...
Jo and I have been helping her sister and brother-in-law look at RV's this past week. Initially, they were only considering a motorhome because Richard just didn't want to pull a trailer. However, with the cost of the motorhomes we've seen they are higher than they want to pay. So, I made the sugges...
We found a 1999 Georgia Boy. We fell in love with it. Hubby thought it would be a good idea for me to drive it home. NOT. The first thing I encountered was road construction on a bridge. I felt like I had about 4 inches on each side. Just when I stopped shaking I HAD TO GO THROUGH ANOTHER ONE. I got throug...
I don't post a lot but I read the forum every day. I just wanted to wish everyone a Blesssed and safe Thanksgiving. Over eat at least twice and try to O.D. on football, or be safe on Friday Dan
Hi! My husband and I are recent retirees, and are currently snowbirding in Osoyoos BC. If everything goes well this winter, we will be going home to Alberta to sell our house and go full-time. So far everything is great. Got a bit cold the last couple days, but the fifth-wheel has been nice and snug. No pr...
Not sure if this topic has been covered in a previous forum or not. I seem to be the one family member elected to be the keeper of all the family pictures, all 9 million of them. How have you guys handled family pictures? Do you store them? Do you give them to another family member? Do you toss them? I've de...
We are selling our beautiful RV community home located in Lake Whitney Texas. We are relocating to Mesa AZ because of my job. We have made it safely to southern Indiana near Scottsburg. Rain all day yesterday and today. Snow possible tomorrow night. We're sitting still until Friday or Saturday when weather is to be better. See my blog for details! Cheers and Happy Turkey Day to all!
Okay, this is becoming laughable. Or is that our teeth chattering? Yes, we have ample propane. Yes, I checked the breakers and fuses. I'm sure there will be a blog post about this later today, so you can check that out. Freakin' cold in here this morning. Thermostat set at 60 when we went to bed just to...
