Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are not quite finished here in Goshen but I will tell you that when we leave it will be as very satisfied customers of Keystone RV.
I would not hesitate to recommend a Keystone product to anyone in the future.
On another note, it looks like we have a workamping job! This will be at a resort in Missouri and we are finalizing the paperwork.
We have had "system snow" this morning here in Goshen and there is a lake effect snow watch in effect from tomorrow until Tuesday morning. It is already colder outside than it was this morning, although right now it is not snowing.
Our target departure date from Goshen is now this coming Thursday, heading to Missouri!
Thanks again to all the RV-Dreams Family for your support during this journey. It is comforting to know you have a cheering section out there rooting for you!
Safe and warm travels to all, Betty

Hi, like many I've been following your experiences with the wish that it all end favorably, and it now appears that will be the case. I'm so glad for you,but it is regrettable you had to suffer through it all.
My wife and I provided 24/7 customer service in a business setting for more than 30 years. We sold a 100 yr old business to a consolidator who ran it into the ground in less than 5 yrs,as a result of poor customer service. That business no longer exists. When we tried to warn the corporate operator,we were told we didin't get the "big picture"! Yeah, right. I'm glad I got my money up-front.
We are in the market for a new RV,in which to hopefully full-time,and I will once again consider Keystone product. We've been lucky. We have a dealer here who has stood by what he sold us,100%, including when a fresh water tank dropped out of a trailer at 65 mph, tearing up the undercarriage, when we were 1500 miles from home. They went above and beyond to make it right. It's all about the individual dealer,or individual provider of service, of any kind these days.
I now spend my time as an expert witness on lawsuits involving my profession, all of which come down to customer service issues.Sad but true.
I'm so glad this is about to end for you. Congrats on your job.

I have been following your issues as well with Keystone and I'm glad they worked out. We have been shopping around for several months and had decided on the Montana. After your problems cropped up we have been waiting with baited breath to see how things turned out. On two accounts I'm glad they turned out so well.
After reading your post, I'm really happy that things are looking up for you. The job opportunity in Missouri also sounds good as well. Since Missouri borders Oklahoma, I went to your blog to see if you mentioned where in Missouri you would be. Alas, no mention there that I could see.
However, not to put a damper on things for you, but you mentioned that Missouri shouldn't be as cold as Goshen. Well, I can tell you that I did basic training in the Army back in the '60's at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. That was January through March and I guarantee you it was COLD.
So, maybe you better get some more of that candies you got while doing laundry so that you can build up some "built in insulation".
Seriously, I am interested as to where that job will be for you. (Oh, and some of the hills in that country are atrocious for driving on. But, that's a story for around a campfire.)
Good luck with finishing up and moving south. Really happy Keystone is taking care of you.

I lived in Kansas City for ten years. YES ... it gets COLD! Ice storms and LOTS of snow.
Make sure that you have all heating systems fully functioning!

Also did a stint at Ft. Leanord Wood, MO in '59 driving large trucks out of the motor pool (as a child I assure you). I agree with the propensity for cold weather and the existence of very hilly roads.
Your fiver is better insulated than the barracks we lived in, and let me assure you with far more comfortable sleeping arrangements.

I did my AIT at Fort Leonardwood but was "lucky??!!" enough to be there in the summer of 1967.It is as HOT in the summer as it is cold in the winter.By the way congratulations on getting your 5ver repaired to your satisfaction.Your recent good customer service with Keystone and mine with Forest River(minor problem compared to yours) makes me wonder if customer service is on the upswing again in the Country.

RVing probably not a reality any more.It was a good time while it lasted.
Okay okay, thanks ? for all the comments about the winters in Missouri!!
After living in northern Minnesota for a couple of years, Missouri may not seem too bad! Of course, the original "plan" <laugh laugh> was to be more south during winter months!
We all know how that goes, right?
We could easily go back to South Carolina and we would really like to do so; however, the practical side of us says take a job where we will save site rent and have some income coming in rather than everything going out.
Besides, it sounds like it might be a good opportunity for long-term options and it is the kind of situation I was hoping we could find.
I'm glad we kept our heavy-duty Minnesota clothing! I still even have my strap on boot cleats for icy conditions, snow boots, etc.
We will certainly be testing every system in the rig; however, Keystone is doing a whiz-bang job in making sure they do the same and I am confident we will be good!
I'll stock up on hot chocolate mix just to be on the safe side!
Cheers all, Betty

Betty been following your updates..yeahhhh glad all is working out for you folks...Richard you've just helped me make a major decision...hubby and I also have a customer service business..and we are retiring in spring 2011~~everyone is saying sell the business...we are closing it...for the very facts you stated above...I do not want to sell to someone who "could" be a snake in the grass and destroy the name and the clients...better to close and help the clients find a new CSC...than to pass them over to a snake...like you I'd feel bad....today's world is all about customer service...because there is so little of it to be found...

Glad to know Keystone is getting things taken care of. Our experience so far has been that Keystone is great. It's the dealers that are a challenge sometimes!
Anxious to hear more about your new gig.
Might need to borrow your wintter gear -- headed to Fargo, ND for my niece's graduation in about 10 days.
Travel safe and stay warm,
