Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Just a quick question to the full-timers from a gonnabe. I was just curious to know if Thanksgiving day is just another day on the road or do you make a traditional meal in your RV's? I know those ovens can be a little small and you probably wouldn't cook a 20 lb. bird for two people anyways.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Just finished our traditional Thanksgiving spred for two -- turkey breast, candied yams, dressing, green beans, gravy, rolls and cranberries.
Takes a little planning and logistics, but it was all pronounced great! Biggest challenge today was it kept raining so a little tough getting the turkey done on the grill.
Happy Thanksgiving!
btw, feeling very blessed as we look out at the family in the popup with the tarp over the top with rain in temps dropping to the 20's tonight.

If we didn't come back to Florida for the Holidays there would be alot of unhappy family for us !!! We come back to see our grandkids, and kids. Our oldest daughter took over the job of "Chef" when we retired and bought the RV.....she does an excellent job....and the best part is I don't have to cook it. I only have to make the gravy and my hubby gets to carve the bird. Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
In the past we have done the traditional dinner-just for two in the coach. The last several years we have been at the same RV park with the same neighbors, so we have a "neighborhood potluck" ....today there were 16 of us sharing a grill cooked turkey and all the trimings on the patio...wearing lots of layers as Arizona is having its coldest Thanksgiving in 80 years. We bypassed the clubhouse dinner as they "move 'em in and move 'em out" while we lingered over our dessert and wine!
I'm still in the stix and brix, but our church does a Thanksgiving dinner potluck we've gone to before. I plan on visiting different churchs as we travel, and if we are away from family I will see if they do this too. Pinon
We are not on the road full time either Back east we used to plan a camping trip during Thanksgiving break, the kids were out of school and the campgrounds always had lots of space available. We usually went to Oconee State Park (SC) and we even had a dusting of snow on Thanksgiving Day one year. Your right about the RV oven being too small to prepare a large turkey, we usually bought a Honeybaked Ham and we prepared the rest of the feast in the camper when we got set up. If it were just the two of us, I would probably opt out of cooking since so many restaurants/campgrounds have a buffet on Turkey Day.
Thanks for all the great replies. Not being out there yet just kind of made me want to know what other people are doing. I am glad that there a lot of options and opportunities for everyone. It really does seem to be a large community out there which is great.
