Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Is there anyone out there fulltiming in a Winnebago Journey DL 36GD, or something very similar? My wife and I are thinking seriously of buying a 2002 for full timing. We currently own a 1998 Safari Trek 2830 and feel it would be nice to move to a larger MH with slides and more bells and whistles. As we tra...
Investing for dividend income is a great way to increase spendable income while leaving the principle alone, and possible making some capital gains with time. Do others own income generating stocks, bond funds, etc? -- Edited by djpotts55 on Tuesday 29th of November 2011 11:24:48 AM
Hello everyone, I'm not sure if any of you have upgraded to a 3G/4G capable Verizon device yet but one of the limitations was they offered no support on the Mac OSX. We've posted full instructions on how to use the Pantech UML290 with a Mac here - Configure Verizon UML290 for use on Mac Computers
I changed over to Verizone Hotspot and the trouble got started. I finally just took it back and got the 4g aircard and I need help setting it up by using my Cradlepoint MBR1000 router. I am using it directly now with my laptop but I want to connect my laptop, netbook and my sons pc to it. He wants to take t...
I have a question about our dog Maggie. In our state (maine) some towns here do not require a dog to be registered or licensed. Are there camp grounds out there that require that? We are trying to get all our ducks in a row so we are all ready to go full time after our son graduates in june. Thanks.
HI to all fellow campers. Bad typer here, I appoligize. Retireing in july 2011. Wife and I have been recreational camping for 30 some years. We plan on doing quite a bid of traveling starting next summer. Hope to meet you all on the road somewhere, or at least wave while passing. We'll be the ones smil...
Well, the latest winter storm(s) have us laying over in Effingham, IL probably until Monday. We arrived at Camp Lakewood yesterday evening. There is one rent-a-Class C here today but otherwise we are it with the exception of the resident owners. It's great to be cooking dinner in our own home again...
I know I read it. I don't know why I didn't save it. Or if I did, I now can't find it. I've tried using Howard's search box but no luck. Can someone help me find the post in which some clever RVer described using an aerobic step up stool with varying heights as a low outdoor step into their coach. They made...
Hi to all! I have been lurking around and I really enjoy the format and quality of the members on this forum. I really don't know what to call myself and I don't think it matters. I do fulltime in a 3812TS Raptor but I don't get to travel due to my job. I am proudly serving in the military and I am currently depl...
We are Paul and Marion from Missouri. We travel in a 30ft Class C Itasca. We are only part-timers and will probably stay that way. We do the snowbird getaway in the winter going to Texas RGV and spend the summers work camping in Missouri. We just happened to find this site and it seems there are so many f...

Linda and Howard I know that your time is winding down in Savannah, but last year we spent 3 weeks in Savannah and had a ball. I found this web site and used it as a point of reference to blend in with the locals. It may be too late for your visit, but helpful to others when they are in the area. http://www.sava...
I hope I am in the right site to ask this question, forgive me if not. Is there anyone out there fulltiming in a Winnebago Journey DL 36GD? If so, please contact me at my email (travel.life.marketing@gmail.com). I am thinking seriously of buying a 2002 for full timing. We currently own a 1998 Safari...
Just thought I would give everyone an update on our FT progress. We made the decision to FT last November (2009) and put our house on the market in March. Well, the house is still not sold! Reduced it $5,000 twice so now the asking price is $10,000 less than where we started. (And would take an offer $5,...
I am in need of service on my motor home. I have several items on my fix-it list, most of which is normal stuff. But I have a slide out issue that may be a major issue. Does anyone have a recommendation for a central Texas (that being a 50 miles radius around Austin) RV service company? I would prefer one...
Does anyone use this? We were told about it yesterday, and it sounds like it might actually save us some money now and give us something that we can use on the road. Currently we don't have any data plans for our cell phones, and it sounds like this would let us use a laptop while driving (no, not the driver)...
Well, that is if we can get a break in the weather to leave Goshen, Indiana! For those who have been wondering, this is our job line-up. We have accepted work at Lake Paradise Resort in Lone Jack, MO. It is fairly near Kansas City. I will be working on the special project of social media marketing. Cool,...
Anyone out there currently using the Ariston Splendide front load, side by side (or stackable) units? Just looking for user comments on the performance and reliability, before we make the plunge($$$)! Or any other side by side favorites out there that will fit into the 54"W by 25"D...
I'm getting ready to go full-time soon. So here's my question. Most states require some sort of auto state inspection. I'm assuming this is equally applicable to motorhomes (or should be!). I currently live in Texas, and in fact just had a state inspection today for my car, which is what got me to t...
Just to let everyone know that there maybe an alternative to Howard's once in a lifetime deal on a Craftsman compressor. I just purchased an Air Xpress from Lowe's. It's a 120 PSI tankless pump that is fairly heavy duty. I just wanted something to top off both the truck and fifthwhe...
Couldn't figure out exactly where to post this question. So here it is. I have read most of the posts on insurance which have highly recommended National Interstate and Miller RV Insurance. Yesterday, I contacted both of the above trying to get quotes. I sent an e-mail to National Interstate yest...
Hi all! I recently started using my RV oven, and it turns out it runs really, really hot. I bought an oven thermometer after the first time I used it, and it's heating up to 450 degrees, no matter where I set the dial. Per suggestions, I did go out and buy a pizza stone for the bottom but because of the high he...
We are thinking of purchasing a macerator pump to pump our sewerage, while staying in our daughters back yard. She has an aerobic septic tank. Does anyone know if this would be ok to do??
