Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Thank you for all the good information. I think I'll want slides for FT...alone with microwave, washer dryer, fire place.....the list goes on! Oh well, at least I have 5 yrs to save. ok, dont know what Im doing here as far as posting goes. I wanted this post in my other post "slide outs"...pro...
Steve (hubby) is taking early retirement due to his health problems. His last day will be Nov. 24th. Can't wait. We are looking at a 99 Georgia Boy and plan on heading toward Texas after Christmas. We are looking at spending the winter near or in the Gulf coast area. Looking for suggestions for a fa...
Hello. I am not entirely sure what all goes into the classification of "fulltime" for a 5th wheel. But I believe it's mostly quality/integrity of construction and materials both in and out, and insulation/weather-tolerance. As a full-timer I'll want safety, reliability, longevi...
I started this blog for my own record and when we went full time it sort of expanded from there. I am not that good a writer but I hope you enjoy it for what it is worth. http://hoenigfamily.blogspot.com/ Thank you.
My blog http://blars.us/blog/ is about a month old, and has some rambling on what I was looking for when shopping for my RV and what I got two days ago: a 1996 Rexhall Aerbus.
I am seeking council on the purchase of a tire pressure monitoring system. I understand that in one of the newer systems the consumer can change the batteries and not have to send the device back to the manufacturer. We have a twin axle trailer, an EVERGREEN 31, the tow veh. is a Ford F 250. Seeking sugge...
I wanted to thank all the veterans for their selfless service with this little prayer: Like all Americans, O Lord, I breath in freedom's air. The awesome wonder of this gift inspires my grateful prayer. I'm thankful for resources YOU abundantly provide, so "dreams" can be encouraged and...
What are some good companies for F/Ter's insurance? My agent would have to put us on Foremost for the coach and Allied for the truck and Harley. Is there any company that may insure all together?? Regards, Howard
Okay, you veteran full-timers. Input, please. We probably have a decision to make within the next day or two. Taking our rig to the factory (not typically done but we have been offered this) for repair (and I would ask a thorough inspection) in Goshen, IN. It is roughly 600 miles from here. Taking o...
For those that didn't happen to catch it in the Journal or on our "What's New" page, I thought I would post here. I've put together some downloadable (small fee) Excel spreadsheet templates. They were designed with full-timers in mind, but can be modified easily for anyone. Go to the Spreadsheet Dow...
Our does, both with front jacks, Level-Up system, and slide operation. I was on another RV forum this evening where someone posted a problem with their hydraulics. Then he got an answer from someone else that at an annual rally they were told in a seminar that it was suggested that the bedroom slide AL...
Brand new to all this so looking for a bit of advice... Just purchased a Ford F350 diesel crew cab with standard bed. Will be towing an Open Range 5th, max weight at 14K. Called several places to inquire about hitches, heard Resse, Husky, Curt - manual vs "slider" ...can I get some recommandations from...
We apparently all share the same "gut" around here! Again, my "little voice" tells me to pack up and haul you-know-what up the road to Goshen and the factory. If I were on my own, I would have started packing yesterday and be ready to roll this morning. However, this is a team decis...
This morning I called my present contact at Keystone RV. As he did not answer, I left a voicemail stating we would be happy to take them up on the offer to bring our Montana to the factory to address our issues. In addition, I sent him an email stating the same with a copy to Mr. Bob Martin. I did ask for ackn...
We just saw a Heartland MPG that we like. Our tow vehicle is a 2005 Mountaineer with a tow package. Mercury says that anything over 3500 lbs GW needs an equalizing hitch. The dealer said that ALL trailers ought to have one. True? We are actually more interested in a Casita or Eggcamper. Both are consider...
Briefly, I received a call from Keystone today, the result being for the first time I have a feeling that they are showing sincere concern and efforts to assist us. You can read about it at my blog at the entry with the same title as this post. Cheers, Betty
Folks, This morning I emailed Mr. Bob Martin, CEO of Keystone RV. Humbly I express that it is perhaps one of my better works. You can read it on my blog at: Letter to Bob Martin, CEO of Keystone RV -- Edited by TxYellowRose on Tuesday 9th of November 2010 10:03:43 AM
Hello everyone, I've been lurking around on the RV Dreams site for a few months off and on, and realized today that it's time to come out and say hello. Here's what prompted this action. I had bookmarked a few RV Forums, and by mistake today I opened a different one (RV Dreams is by far my favorite). As soon...
I belong to a group which discusses seasonal work in different National Parks and resorts and one of the moderators, who is a human resources manager, will be headed to a meeting to discuss different aspects of the seasonal employment. One of the topics they will be discussing is RV living at seasonal...
another dreamer here! we know we want to do this but still have some issues to work thru just wondering how many who are actually full-timing still have a S&B, do you rent/lease it out, do relatives live in it, is it empty (in GA you can't get insurance unless someone lives in it ,I think???) how many...
Is it just me or is anybody else out there really, really tired of all the political pundentry? I know what is going on right now IS important & yes I did vote, but I dream of being in a place where I don't get so wrapped up in all the drama unfolding daily on tv. I know, I could just turn it off, but it is k...
I would like your openions about montana 3455SA fifth wheel tr, If i purchase this unit it will come from MI. dlv to az.phx.area. thanks getting started..
Nope, we HAVE NOT had problems with our Mobile Suite and have to start looking again. Jo's sister and her husband are planning on coming to OKC from Kansas around Thanksgiving and they want to look into buying an RV. They've put out "word of mouth" that their home on 5 or 6 acres is for sale....
We got a job offer this morning! One worth seriously considering! Even if it doesn't pan out, it is a positive thing! We are mulling it over and will talk with the folks again later today. I say again . . . whoohoo!
They are not FTers and they dont pull big rigs. Just bunch women getting together with their vintage trailers. There is a cute Youtube video on them... Just thought I'd share. Jean
