Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We will be taking a trip in July and August with a new 5th wheel to Niagara Falls and then following the Great Lakes Seaway Trail up to the 1000 Islands. Has anyone done this trip and have any advice for inexperienced RVer's? We have the following questions:We are concerned about low clearance brid...
Lee has made quite a few modifications to our rig over the last two years and finally I got him to sit down explain it all. Since he doesn't do anything half way, there are pictures and detailed instructions on our inside modifications on the link listed below. Took him all day to complete that, so the o...
What an amazing week it has been here at the rally... From a very shaky start in traveling, to getting here then the laughs started and NEVER ended. At times my side hurt from laughing so hard and Cheri's face was aching. Dumpster Dave will go down in rally history. I truly want to make a left out of the gate...
Hi everyone, Getting closer to that FT date of 2018. We have narrowed our choices down for our fifth wheel. One brand that has peaked our interest is Augusta Rv, LUXE. Has anyone actually seen this unit in person or know of anyone who has one? We missed them at Hershey last year. They actually have a whit...
I added a gauge to my propane tank. The gauge is color coded - green, yellow, red. During a recent trip, outdoor temps ranged from 80 degrees (day) to 35 degrees (night). Day after day, the gauge was in the green during the day (warm outdoor temps) and dropped to yellow or nearly red every night (colder o...
So I really wanted a Reese Airborne Sidewinder king pin box, but I recently discovered that it wouldn't fit my king pin box :( I've got the Fabex 730 & my service technician & Reese have both confirmed that the Airborne will not go on my 5th wheel. Now I'm looking at the [url=http://www.ultra-f...
Amazon Camperforce is looking for several hundred Workampers starting October - December 2016 at fulfillment centers in Campbellsville, KY and Murfreesboro, TN! Listen to this Jobinar session to learn more about Amazon's holiday season and delivering gifts to their customers, in a fast paced...
We will be traveling with our dog and want to keep the temperature comfortable for her in the fifth wheel while during transport. I have read Technomadia's article on powering A/C with solar and batteries and we are not able to invest in that quantity and quality of batteries and inverter. However,...
so after much reading I finally bit the bullet and ordered the winegard portable satellite dome from dish tv. it's been one problem after another since installation on Wednesday. we lose the satellite signal at least every two hours, and it's down for another two to six hours after that. we've moved i...
Hi all, I'm looking for a newish Scamp or Casita, or for a 2015 (or earlier) Camplite. The Camplite Livin Lite series changed hands, and now the off gassing is intolerable to me, which is why I need an earlier model. Thanks in advance, Margaret
I like Lucky Mike's posts so I'll name myself Lucky Larry. Haven't gone FT yet - my elderly dogs don't need dragging around the USA so when they finally go where all good dogs go I'll be saddling up and moving out as a solo, seeing if I can fill out my bucket list. I own a 32' TT but no way am I gonna try to tow that...
Yesterday, I drove my new (to me) Class A to Bed, Bath and Beyond for some organizing stuff; a Rexhall Class A came into the lot, and parked right next to me. The older gentleman driving it started a conversation about RVs. Then something dawns on him, and he asks, "Where's your family? Is it just yo...
Robin and I just left Costco after listening to the DTV pitch, and I gotta tell ya I almost jumped on it. But I am not the impulsive type and thought I should run it by the RV Dreams experts. We currently reside in our S&B in upstate NY and intend to be FT in our Fiver come June 1st. In our S&B we have Tim...
Hello, My name is France-Marie. I am a new-comer. My husband and I are considering becoming full-timers. I have made a lot of research on-line and this website has been the most informative and well organized site I have read. Thank you for your generous information. We went to a RV dealer near home and...
Does anyone use the Wal Mart parking lot for bookdocking and if so what have your experiences been? Positives and negatives? Are there any other stores or commercial areas that are RV friendly?
I am waiting for my TPMS to arrive via UPS and I was wondering about the high pressure and high tempature alarm settings. I have a TPMS for my motorcycle and I can set an upper limit for both pressure and temp. The manual does not give any advice for figuring how much above ambient temp or cold tire pressure...
I've posted the results (actuals versus budget) of our first "settled" month of costs of full timing for those who are interested on my blog. Everyone's situation is very different but when I was getting ready to go on the road other people were generous with their numbers so I wanted to s...
We have a 2012 Ram 2500 6.7 liter diesel full 4 doors and an 8ft bed and are looking at a Montana High country to travel in with our 2 kids and was curious if the truck we have would have any issues with that as a setup or if anybody has a recomendation for a fifth wheel in the $ 60K range that would be better. WE h...
In my continuing research for the right fifth wheel for my family of five (all three children are girls), I'm having a hard time finding a manufacturer with a floorplan that truly meets our needs for beds and storage (clothes and home school books/supplies being our top priority for the girls needs)....
The Wynn's of GonewiththeWynns just put out a youtube vid on this subject https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B0rZY5uotKI I was interested on the load side of things but they appear to have enough solar and battery to do the job except of the brief second the compressor starts running. Later in the...
OK, we have been convinced. We have blown 3 tires in the past 3 weeks. 2 of those today 100 miles apart.
I have the 215/80/16 GY Marathons with load range E. I want to put on GY 614 with the 17.5 rims. I have the room.
Question: does anybody have a recommendation for a wheel and tire guy? I seem to remember...
My wife, Ginny and I were full time Workampers from 1996 to 2003. We own Redwood Graphics, the company for whom we Workamped for all those years. Redwood Graphics provides free specialized signage to RV Parks and has been utilizing the services of RV’ers for many years. We are seeking full time and p...
Can anyone share stories about class A dashboard covers they used and liked or not? Our hard plastic dash is very bright at certain sun angles and I worry about it cracking from the UV exposure. Thanks!
Hi all, I have issues with mold, allergies, an immune deficiency, and neuro Lyme Disease. And yes, despite all that, I plan to travel, mainly to find a place that "feels" better to me than the lovely place I live now, which is indeed lovely, but is also very humid. I also plan to stay in my RV (not bought...
How do I find out if there are any other Augusta RV Luxe owners in the RV-Dreams family?? We just purchased our 5th wheel and would just like to compare notes, etc. THANKS! -- Edited by Howard on Tuesday 23rd of February 2016 10:55:50 AM to change topic title and tags to "Augusta" for better search re...

We have a few years before we hit the road but my wife is concerned about moving around too much. She want's to find a southern campground for the winter and stay, I want to move around more. I want to meet people and make lasting friendships as well but I want to see more of the country. Especially since we w...
