Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Will be retiring later this year and thinking about purchasing a Forest River Class A motor home. Perhaps a Georgetown 30X3 or a 335DS. Has anyone had any experience with this company or model? Your input would be appreciated. This will be our first motor home and we are looking forward to easing i...
My RV has a digital display inside for the LP tank and it says full. I checked the gauge on the tank and it says 1/2 full. I noticed a wire going to the gauge that appears to have been cut. I want to splice it back together but before I do, might there have been some reason to disconnect it by the previous owner?...
My Shurflow water pump us not so sure. It seems to operate fine as far as cycling on and off, but there is not enough pressure at the shower. The faucets and the tub flow pretty good even though you can tell there is not much pressure, but the shower just does not have enough pressure. Is there a way to adj...
Howdy All, This is my first post here on the RV Dreams Forum - I'm glad to be here! I've got a quick question for you guys. I spent the past weekend up in Estes Park, Colorado with my family. Absolutely beautiful little mountain town. We stayed in one of the RV Parks and hiked in Rocky Mountain National Park...
After she spends a month stored, waiting for us to get rid of our "stuff" and totally retire!, we will be getting to know her for the month of June here in Nevada. Yes, learning about living in an RV in some heat, for sure. Then, we'll be heading north to the Seattle area where we'll spend a week or two in a sib...
Hi everyone! The wife and I have decided that full time or nearly full time RV living is the next step in our life. This isn't something that we're going to rush into and we're looking to start about 2 years from now. I've done a bit of research and have found this forum to be one of the best. What I haven't f...
Was browsing the net looking for RV water filters and ran across some sites selling AWGs. Wondering if anyone has tried, heard or considered this as an alternative to hauling the water. With solar, i would think once the batteries are charged any excess solar could be used to make water instead of just...

We started purging in February and yesterday our house went under contract!!! We have been staying on the property in our 5ver for 3 weeks now because the house has been empty. Exhausted! Excited! And terrified!!!! We are planning on taking it slow in our travels once we close on the house. I hope this w...
Hi all! we have been researching the FT life for about a year now. I am retired and my sweetie works in a soul-killing job that is really hurting her. A very complicated situation. She is only 54 so drawing her SS will be a long way off. Our plan is to move into a motor home for 2 years to save funds to enable he...
I know many of you RV-dreamers also visit several other RVing forums and websites so wondering if you can shed some light on the following, which indirectly might help others that I'm sure are having similar problems based on some posts I've seen specific to a particular forum but ...... Anyone else h...
I am hauling a 43' Fuzion that's 13.5' tall, with a Ram 3500 dually. I am traveling from Denver to L.A. and was mapping out my trip & locating fuel stops. As many of you know, we can't just pull into a Stop&Go and expect to have enough maneuvering room, never-mind the roof height. I've looked on RV...
We were wonder how many members here have Coast to Coast memberships, how often you use it, and if you felt it was worth the money? We're going this weekend to get a membership from another party that wants nothing for the membership, so the only cost to us will be the transfer fees, and this years maint...
I used to hate trying to eat my lettuce before it turned to goo until I discovered sprouts. A friend turned me on to them years before I tried it myself, but I bought some sprouting trays and 5lbs of alfalfa seed. I place some seed in a layer on the bottom of a tray, wet it, and in 3-4 days the tray is packed soli...
At present my backup power is an Npower 400w power pack. I love it - when the power goes out it kicks on and lights a 3 bulb tree lamp. One bulb lights the trailer and a second aimed out a window provides a yard light. It works easily for 2 days but the drawback is it takes hours to recharge so my genny isn't rig...
As the title suggests, I am taking the risk of being accused of being the "Weight Policeman." But, so-be-it. Having driven everything from motorcycles to 18-wheelers, I know that there are definite safety issues when one's RV is running overweight. Thus, I'd like to share the results...
We really love our coach and it is our full time home, but we have an issue when it rains it comes into the bedroom floor on one side of the slide, has anyone had this issue? We have check the rubber and cleaned and treated and it only does it sometimes so we are checking for ideas.
Since my husband has passed away, I cannot continue our full-timing lifestyle. I miss it terribly and enjoy reading posts from others who are on the road. Brings back lots of good memories!
A HUGE SALUTE from this Old Army Veteran to all the men and women who gave their LIVES for the Citizens of the USA!! RIP. Condolences to the Families for their Support to the Freedoms we Have today! PIEERE
We picked ours up yesterday…beautiful dark red and tan to match the rig…if you're interested in photos it's at http://guntherandkara.com. What a nice truck…way more features and complex user comfort stuff than our old F450. We upgraded after 4 years due to 3 things…bed rail to bedroom clearance, r...
I have a 2013 Raptor Toy Hauler and replaced the couch and the rear dinette with more comfortable full-timer type furniture. Now I'm wondering what to do with them (brand new condition), does anyone know of an RV Salvage place that would be interested in buying them? I don't think it is worth trying to...
I looked through all the posts on tires and all I see are comments about liking one or the other of these Michelin tires but no comparisons. I'd like to hear details in which of these tires are better overall for the full time towing we do. We do have a 4X4 dually and do some off road exploring so I'm leaning t...
We were just wondering if there was a GPS unit out there that allowed you either download a route exactly like you chose it, say from Mapquest or something like that, or would let you "drag" the route to the specific road you want on the unit itself? We own two GPS units, one that advertised the...
While contemplating what to do with my solo travels it occurred to me to haul my telescopes along, find a darksky location, and do some stargazing. My home was a darksky locale until I inherited a neighbor whose first act was placing STREETLIGHTS (plural) on his property - went from being able to see An...
Picked up our new Ram 3500 on Saturday - Cummins Diesel, AISIN, 4.10 rear axle ratio, 8' bed, DRW, 5th wheel prepped - and lots of bells and whistles. We have never had a diesel vehicle before - so any info on operating a diesel would be appreciated - especially DEF. Our dealership was clueless when it c...
Hello Howard, We have read many opinions and watched videos about sewer hoses. We will take delivery on our 2014 Winnebago Via 25P at the end of January. We'd like to make the best decision on the sewer hose. It seems from our research that the Polychute, the Rhino, and the Sewer Solutions are the top...
A Chevy 2500HD gasser, tows 14,500 lb w/6-Speed auto trans. But, costs about $35K almost as much as a diesel. A new base Ram reg cab diesel, w/6.7L Cummins TD & 6 speed manual, looks to be available for $37K to $41K out the door. With no auto trans to worry about, so the only problem would be the emissi...
