Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi This is my first time posting here. My wife and I are planning on going fulltime when we return to the states next year. We have been researching RVing for a while and are wondering if the class "A's you see on PPL" in the $20,000 to $30,000 range are suited for full time use? That's about our budget fo...
Hi, I have tested positive for toxic mold. I am also chemically sensitive. I have heard some say that living in a non toxic camper or trailer like camplite really helped. Camplite used to be almost 100 % alumininum, with no glue or wood in the construction. However, the Livin Lite company has been...
Just did my walk thru on the 5th wheel on Friday and tech mentioned that I needed to use rv/marine tp - but staff at campingworld say I dont need to... what advice should I follow???
Hi, Everyone! I have been looking at tiny house options and how to finance them on $900/mo minus half (the house payment). My 5 yo SUV is free and clear, so, at this point, it's my ticket to RVing. I can't live in my house because of a prowler. My roommate situation gives me no privacy. I've been looking at...
I'm looking for an RV that will provide me with a temporary shelter while I detox from mold that was in my house (and community). The thing is, most of the brands that are good for mold allergies come in trailer form, and I'm SCARED to tow, having never done anything like it before. Is it as hard and scary...
The endcap of our 5th wheel is really dull. We've washed the RV so it's clean but it just doesn't have any shine on the front end. I'm wondering if anyone has found a product that will bring a little luster back?
We are looking at this used 2000 Overland Lorado. It is a diesel pusher. It was made by Odessa industries, which is no longer in business. Does anyone have any experience or information on the Overland brands? We would love to hear from you!
What does this mean? We are in the process of purchasing a Class A. The current owner says he weighed it and it weighs 22,000 lbs. What does that mean? Do we have to stop at weigh stations like the big trucks? I'm confused! Mrs LandL
Hello All,Doing some maintenance on our new to us New Horizon and preparing for our winter migration south. I have heard a great deal about torquing the RV lugs and how important it is to do so. What is the proper amount of torque to apply and what sequence should the lugs be done in?Mike
Have had the dream of full timing for a long long time....It's finally coming true. My wife and I sold our businesses and the house is listed with lots of bites coming already. We have contacted an estate sale company to sell everything else. Still don't have a clue where we will head first. We have been w...
We recently acquired our 2007 Tiffin 40QDP . I'm shopping for tow components for our toad, a 2013 F150 The previous owners utilized a Blue Ox tow bar and a Roadmaster Brakemaster braking system, (to tow a Honda CRV). I'm thinking of using a Roadmaster Tow Bar coupled with an Air Force One brake system...
Hello All, New to the forums and new to setting up proper battery banks for a RV configuration, but have been trying to do extensive research for all the information to properly setup a good battery bank system in this RV. This will be stationary, but can easily break-down if a "must move" situation o...
I feel reasonably confident that the truck that I want to purchase can more than adequately tow the fifth wheel I'm interested in ordering. I've talked with a few of you and feel like I have a pretty good understanding of TV/5er weight calculations for safe towing. However, having never owned a fift...

Hi, I've only seen people back straight into a hitch. If I had to, would I be able to hitch and unhitch at an angle safely? The space I will have to put my RV in isn't too much longer than my RV and truck. If I could unhitch and re-hitch at an angle I know I'll have an easier time. Thanks in advance, Openmind

Looking for a booster that will work with Verizon here in Texas. The location were heading to has 4G but only at 1-2 bars at best. Our equipment is 2 smartphones and the Millenicom MIFI jetpack 4620L. I know in the past before the 4G speed that a Wilson SOHO 60 worked well as an all around solution for pho...
Is it possible to have a garbage disposal in an RV?? I mean I know it's possible to install one, but will it cause problems?? I can do without a dishwasher, but I'd really love a garbage disposal!! We're going FT and will have our new "home" in about a week!!
Ok, I have to ask all you fulltimers out there.... What length of sewer hose do you carry on board? 25', 30', 50', 60'? What length of electric cord do you carry on board? 25', 30', 50', 60', 75? -- Edited by Howard on Monday 9th of May 2016 07:00:49 AM
I'm looking for allergy friendly and mold proof trailers like Scamp and Casita, but I need to register for their forums. The thing is, I've tried and tried, and for some reason, neither forum will let me in. Is there a reason for this? Have also looked at Camplite, which is famous for being mold proof...
Hi, I'm completely new to the world of RVing. I always went tent camping, or stayed in a youth hostel or hotel room. In the last 16 years, I've been down on my luck health wise. My house may contain mold; I have actually tested positive for a type of mold called, "Penicillium Notatum." I've heard of som...
We just returned to the Portland area (home base) with our new (to us) '07 Allegro Bus. I'm hoping to find a good shop to do regular annual service work, but also need to get our toad set up done, ( Ford F150), Dish Network hooked up, and a couple other minor hiccups looked at. I know there's a Tiffin dealer c...

Hello All, Starting early on the plans for going full time and have lots of questions but for the time being let's only look at this one. We like the idea of workamping, volunteering, state/national park seasonal help, etc. once we hit the road. A couple of places I have looked state the RV has a maxi...
Hello everyone! Our Estate Sale is in one week and it's crazy around here. Estate people came two days this week for set-up and will be here again on Monday and Tuesday next week. Question? Has anyone here ever had an estate sale to sell everything before going full time? How did it go? What did you do with...
Hello all. Been towing since 1996. Did a 4000 mile, 13 day trip to Sturgis last year. I've been learning and sharing on the Sunline Forum for a few years. Already learned some new things here. Camping season starts for me next week at Dover, DE. Then Cherrystone for a loooong Memorial Day weekend. I look...
Finally, after a year of learnin'... lots of internet shoppin'... and plenty o' wishin", tomorrow evening Deb and I will jump on a plane out of Portland for our flight to Salt Lake City, where on Wednesday, we'll take possession of our new (to us) 2007 40' Tiffin. Sadly we have only a few...
Wife and I have made our first step in preparing to go full time in a couple of years(shooting for 2018) when I will be able to retire. Picked this piece of the puzzle up yesterday. Next piece will be a Cedar Creek Silverback late next year.
