Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am NOT the cook in the family, but Laura asked me to post this for her...One of the first items we purchased for our RV was a non-stick folding electric skillet. I like the idea of being able to cook with electricity when electric is included in a FHU site rather than using up our on-board supply of propan...
Hi all, As I stated in subject line just want to see what everyone is talking about in the RV world, I wish all the best in traveling and seeing the country, stay well and safe. RudyMan
We are headed to Custer State Park SD May 1st from Tulsa, OK. Will be doing some work camping there over the summer. Have 6 days to get there and would like to stay away from interstate as much as possible. Are there any suggestions on a route with good scenery and not to much heavy traffic. Any input would b...
Hi, Sorry if I'm violating your better judgment! I am interested in purchasing a used Scamp or Casita. I have tried and tried to register on the Casita forum, but it keeps saying I've failed the challenge question. I assume that means the text you enter to prove you're not a robot? The text they prov...
We have a LG washer that blew 2 sets of boards running off my Magnum. Now we have a Mobile RV tech turned up here (total off the grid) and had the same problem with a Splendid washer.. so he bought a Go Power 1000w PSW inverter just for washer and no more problems. He said it is down to the harmonic's in the Ma...
Hi all! After about 3 years of planning, researching, visiting many RV shows (including 2 trips to Tampa and 1 to Hershey!), we have narrowed our search down to a DRV Full House (toy hauler, for those unfamiliar). Since we'll need to have a big ole' truck to pull the 5er around, we're planning on bring...

We're being offered a new DRV Mobile Suite with a upgraded Fiberglass roof. I'm told all the dealers in the desert offer Fiberglass roofs. The standard roof on Mobile Suite is 1 piece/Rubber. Here's the oddity: the Warranty on Rubber roofs is 10 years, on fiberglass it's only one but the fiberglas...
I bought a 2007 Bighorn 3600RL Fifth wheel GVWR 16000k in Feb and thinking I should put new tires on. With DOT stamp reading: DOT 7YHE (ANC) (0706) Currently it has four Load Star Carrier HD ST235-85R16 tires. Any opinions on these or other tires, preferably not made in China. I have not towed it yet, b...
Hi…wanted to see if I can do a quick survey to see if anybody else is having a similar problem to Connie and I as well as Bill and Linda Napier. We've both got News Horizons 5vers…but the issue is with Lippert slide mechanisms. On our LR slide…which is what NH calls a Super Slide as it's about 35-40 inches de...
Linda & I are contemplating a new educational program for new RVers, and we are looking for some feedback. It would be geared to all new RVers, not just those interested in full-timing.Here are our initial thoughts:Once a quarter, wherever we are traveling, we would hold New RVer Basic Trainin...
Looking for recommendations to stay for a while in June/July time frame in the Harrisburg, PA area. In mid June we will be in the Harrisburg, PA area. Long story, but short version is we will be doing the RV Driving School in Carlisle after picking up our new Arctic Fox in West Milton, PA. For the first t...
I want to add solar power to my RV and have been contemplating this. If I want to use the existing outlets in my RV do I need an inverter? There is a controller on board, a generator and 3 deep cycle batteries that get charged with shore power and my generator. So I just want my solar panels to charge my bat...
If we start full timing in Sept or October will it be easy to find workamper jobs? Or are most of the jobs starting in the spring and summer. I am trying to figure out the timing of when to make the jump. Kind of scary especially with the health care the way it is.... -- Edited by EW Simp on Sunday 1st of May 20...
I just bought this 2001 Winnebago Adventurer and I have to fix a few things. I knew I had to replace the house batteries but before I did I tried the levelers. Well, one of them got stuck and I had to read the manual a figure out to raise it manually. Following the directions I opened the T-valve and I was able...
Hello, My name is Alexander, but you can call me Alex, I live in Brazil and I'm working hard to be able to get a linear income that allows me to achieve my RV dream.I wish I could buy an RV in the US and storaged it while I am here in Brazil. First of all I'll rent one to better understand how it works. Indeed I'd...
I am currently wagon master on an RV caravan traveling through Mexico. Fortuneltely we are now in one spot for over a week. When i looked under my trailer the picture below is what I found. Also fortunatley my wife flew home and can return with a replacement set.
Hello everyone! We are shopping for a fifth wheel and could not find much info about this year of Cameos and nothing about this particular model. We are looking at model F31KSLS on the web. It is 32 feet long and weighs 11,305 lbs dry. It is at a dealer 3 hours from us, so we have been talking with the sale...
I cannot seem to find it, but someone posted recently about what they use to polish and/or clean their gel coat finish on their RV. We have an Evergreen. I don't remember if it has a gel coat or a fiberglass finish on the exterior. I would like to find that post to see what they said was an excellent to poli...
Hi guys, I am planning to finally buy my new 20-ft towable after a few setbacks. In my quest to empty the house and hit the road, I am Ebaying a variety of odd things around the house. In the garage I found a battery charger. I'm thinking my late beloved may have used it for motorcycle batteries, but I'...
I am Warren and my lovely wife is Kathy. In the last 14 months, she has really changed my outlook on life and living. She has a tear drop trailer made by Little Guy and we tow it with a Honda CRV. We are kayaking and into the outdoor life style. In 3 and 1/2 years, I will retire and we are going to be a part timer in...
We were original looking at the Open Range Residential. It looked and felt perfect for going full time in. Starting looking into the company and came up with mixed reviews. Just wondering if anyone has one? had one? wants one? getting rid of one? loves one? hates one? Thanks. Jerry
Hi. Is there anyone out there who have their legal residence in Arkansas and are full-time RVers? We sold our house in AR, but prefer to keep our AR residence since we will eventually buy another home in AR. We would like to ask some questions regarding our address for things like Drivers License, whi...
Hello all! We bought our first TT in January of 2014, 21ft Salem Cruise lite, we loved it, but knew it would be too small when our daughter moved out and we no longer had a built in dog sitter. We traded it in on a 27ft Salem TT, that actually had a separate bedroom, and really enjoyed it. DH wasn't fond of towi...
Folks, we need your advice on this one: When we started RVing we had to lower the hitch receiver in the truck bed and to lift the spring hangers on the fifth wheel to get an almost level rig (still a notch nose high). Having that experience in mind we took some measurements at the dealerships when looking f...
My wife asked me to post this for her:Neat "trick" to keep your gas stove top clean easily and score some “brownie” points with the house chef:We purchased a set of reusable Teflon oven mats from Amazon for $15. They come in different sizes for both range and toaster ovens. Take one of the larger ones an...
Are there memberships and/or websites that cater specifically to privately owned spaces? In other words, somebody has extra space on their land or an RV hook-up available on their property for rent on a daily/weekly basis? Thanks in advance.
