Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
You all have been so patient with me and I want you ALL to know how much I (we) have appreciated all your help and feedback!I know this question might sound "dumb" to those of you that have experience, but we have never had slides before in our camper and I want to be careful KWIM?Here is the que...
Hi all:We're going to Kentucky this summer. I need some help from you Kentuckians (is that what you're called?) and from RVers who have been there a bunch. Please list five things/places you feel are the top five "must see&do" while there. I'm looking for iconic things, ie th...
This link is our travel plans from Rainbvow Plantation in Summerdale to Maysville, NC. http://g.co/maps/ztupr. Any feedback or route changes will be appreciated. First half of the 1600 mile trip was pretty good Our blog has details if you are interested in seeing where we stayed. Thanks.
Wow! We decided to go to the Tacoma RV show. Left Vancouver Island on an early ferry and drove south on I-5 n to Tacoma in a huge rainstorm. Lots of flooding and road closures. Anyway we got here and avoided some of the closures thanks to our gps. Went to the show and saw a 37' Escalade 5th whee...
We just got our 2004 Sunnybrook Titan 31BWFS fifth wheel and we cannot find the fresh water tank drain anywhere! The underbelly of the FW is enclosed and we have looked all over. Anyone familier with this brand that can point me in the right direction? Thanks!!
Selling my house, still working but would like to adventure into a fifth wheel full time. Ramble about the County and surrounding areas. Year round Indiana weather. I ride on/off road motorcycles year round so I'm up for what mother nature can dish out. I have considered New/Used, and have decided...
Shopping for a 5th wheel seems to be quite overwhelming! i think we've narrowed it down to two floorplans. We're not concerned with the finishes but we want to make sure the structure and construction is good for a full timer and for use in cooler temps. With that in mind, I have two questions for every...
Hi there We have been reading this forum for a couple of months now and getting lots of great info from all the members. I thought it was time to say 'hello' and join in the discussions. We are hoping to buy our first motor home sometime this year, if we can find our perfect fit, or as near to perfect as we can g...
Hi again. Not sure where to post this question.. Now that we've decided to go with the 5'er instead of Class C (sacrificing the ability to drop and park anywhere we want instead of giving up living space), how does a large (37'+) fifth wheel with tow vehicle handle on the single lane windy mountain road...
It was fun to read the various posts about what you all do for hobbies on the road. I'm a photographer and have to find room for my iMac. I use a Nikon D700 with several lenses. The most used is the 24-70 and the 70-200. If I'm out and don't want to carry the bag with lots of heavy stuff, I use a 28-300 all pur...
We just signed up for the rally, so I thought I'd say hello. We are not full time (can't drag my cowboy hubby away from his horses!), but we love our 5th wheel and love to travel between roping events. Cowboy is retired from GM, I'm a full-time Grammy and part time church librarian. Our family roots are...
Planning to full time has almost become an obsession for me. My wife and I briefly discussed this several years ago but never gave it any more thought. Then, about three months ago, the subject randomly came up and I started to research the RV'ing lifestyle. By chance, I ran into Howard and Linda's s...
I recently became a member of Workamper News (I highly recommend) and interestingly enough have already had 2 job offers just yesterday and I don't even have my Resume done yet! So...I am wondering if there are ways besides Google search to look for reviews on employer's before taking the plunge and...
Greg has some minor mobility issues, so we are looking at purchasing a folding electric bike for him to use for getting aroung at the RV parks. Has anyone tried these? Any feedback appreciated. I would be getting just a regular folding bike for myself ( I need the exercise, lol). We plan on storing both...
We're currently researching various options for our domicile. One of the states we are considering is Tennessee. We're having a hard time finding any online information about the cost of title and vehicle registration for our truck and rv in Tennessee. Does anyone have any insight?
Our Pinnacle 35LKTS that we bought off the dealer lot was quite loaded but did not have a Fireplace. DW wanted a Fireplace so I shopped the Internet and finally found one at a RV Surplus Company for a great deal. Also wanted to improve the sound quality of our Jensen Sound system. Contacted Jensen Custom...
My DW and I looked at a 2004 Winnebago Journey DP 32. Were looking for the good the bad or the ugly on this model, any advice or opinions would be appreciated It has 14,000 mile, the unit appears to have been well cared for. Thank You Bob
Hello all! My hubby, Greg, and I are new to the RV world. We just brought home our "new to us" 2004 Doubletree Mobile Suites 5th wheel two days ago. We are like kids with a new toy, lol. About us: Hubby Greg and I are mid-40's, and have never owned any type of RV before, so we are pretty excited to st...
My husband and I are searching for a reliable used class A for travel and as our second home. We found a great looking Coachmen Santara 2005 with low mileage (3,000 mi), mid-50's price range. Anyone know of the pros and cons of Coachmen Santara?
I hope you have room for one more! I too have all the usual questions that all newby's have, and it's great to find a site like this one! I'm a transplanted newenglander living in so. florida and just turned 65. Hopefully the plan is to hit the road fulltime in about a year from now, it's going to take me...
Hiya! We have a Cougar 5th wheel, about 2 years old now. I'd like to replace my Hamilton Beech microwave with a good micro/convection oven. The HB micro has hot spots in the middle and burns everything, no matter how I try to cook. We've had it replaced twice when it was under warranty and it's just the...
