Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Replacing microwave with micro/convection oven

There's a lot of units available online via various retailers - such as BestBuy.com and Amazon.com. Both sites provide actual user reviews. That's how we research. When we narrow in on a specific model we're interested in, we then Google for it to see if there are any other reviews, better prices, etc.

They also list the dimensions so you can narrow your search to what you can fit.

The combo units are widely used in the general household market, so they are fairly available and well documented. No need to restrict your research to RV-specific sites.

Here's a pre-search for you on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_c_1_15?url=search-alias%3Dappliances&field-keywords=convection+microwave&sprefix=convection+micr%2Caps%2C277

The stars indicated how well rated it is by actual consumers, and the number in parens is how many folks have written reviews. Click thru to the listing to read all the reviews and info.

Have fun!

Hiya!

We have a Cougar 5th wheel, about 2 years old now.  I'd like to replace my Hamilton Beech microwave with a good micro/convection oven.  The HB micro has hot spots in the middle and burns everything, no matter how I try to cook.  We've had it replaced twice when it was under warranty and it's just the same poor-performing oven.

Can someone recommend an oven I should look at?  Our space is rather small.  Our current micro is 14 3/8 high, 20 5/8 wide.  The space looks like it could accomodate 15 high and 23 wide and a max of 15 deep.

I'm a little nervous about just picking one out without knowing much about them because I don't want another one with hotspots that I'd be stuck with.  I've read here that a few of you have the GE Advantium and like it, but the posts have only talked about the convection part.

Can someone suggest a micro/convection combo that they've seen work really well?  Or can someone point me in the direction of a supplier.  I've checked Camping World, but don't see much there...unless I've missed something.  I'm an experienced cook and have a convection oven in the S/B.

Thanks much for any help you can provide!

Irene
