An RVer's worst Nightmare!

Interesting, but eye-opening, article/video highlighting the risk of a fire occurring while RVing. This RV happened to be a Newmar, Dutch Star. We have decided on a DP as well, so I'll be interested to see the facts revolving around this fire while traveling down the highway. Ross Thompson, id...

Fuel Nozzle Conversion for Diesel
(Preview)
We have guests here with their Class C RV. Nice unit but......the fuel nozzle is the small one found at the auto-diesel pumps. They cannot use the truck lanes with the larger nozzle. This came out in a conversation about TSD Logistics. The program would be of no use to them as they cannot use the truck lan...

Where can you get Fifth Wheel tires replaced economically

I searched but didn't see anything. We are getting some quotes to replace all our tires and Walmart was recommended as the cheapest but it looks like they won't mount and balance??? I would like to avoid dealer prices if at all possible but are their other alternatives. Just had our first flat tire an...

I just bit the bullet and bought my first FT RV.
(Preview)
I just purchased this new to me 1999 National RV Tropi-Cal to full time in when I retire. Though an older RV, it only has 28K miles and looks pretty good inside, with only one owner and full maintenance records. I got a pretty good deal on it considering its condition. The carpet is a little faded but we pla...

Truck Tires
(closed)
(Preview)
We are in need of new tires for our 2013 GMC 3500 Dually. Reading previous posts I see a lot of recommendations for the Michelin XPS Ribbed however when I search for them I cannot find them in 235/80R17 which is what we have on the truck now. Any other recommendations?

When you can't find mid-grade gasoline

Going over lessons learned on my shakedown cruise, I come to the scrape I put on the trailer trying to maneuver a too-small gas station when I couldn't find a large enough one and was down to fumes. This was of course entirely my fault. But in addition to practicing my towing a lot, I would like to fin...

Bilstein B6 Heavy Duty Monotube Gas Pressure Shocks

I am looking at putting these shocks on my 2002 Pace Arrow 37 ft Motorhome (F53 Chassis). Why do motorhomes turn so high rpm... somebody stop me from changing my differential

I have a problem with 1800 rpm at 65mph. However, at 62 mph and 1680 rpm I do get 8 mpg. My coach has a Cummins 370 ISL and 33,0000 gross weight. 1200 ft pds torque at 1300 rpm is my max torque. At 65mph and 1800 rpm I have lost about 200 ft pds torque. At 70 mph i am under 1000 pounds of torque and that means the sli...

Finally got the warning that I need to add DEF. I have 6,300 miles and the owners manual says change oil at 10K. Do you add DEF yourself, go to a Truck Stop and use the dispenser (I understand you need a demagnetizer for this?), or go ahead and change the oil and have them add DEF?

How will I know who to call for what?

Let me apologize right now for such a newbie question. Hahaha So, what items are normally a chassis (Freightliner) issue or engine (Cummins) issues? I think the engine issues should be pretty obvious. Are there any issues that are pretty common that we should be aware of?
