Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We have a satellite dish mounted on the roof of the camper and it ocurred to me that there is most likely a wind speed the dish should be retracted. I don't know what that is and so I am turning to the most knowledgable group on the internet for the answer. Your help is appreciated.
After our 2 week adventure, we pulled our baby into our seasonal site, Sunday night we packed up, slides in, left the bigfoot levelers down so the rig would stay nice and level. then Virginia asked about the contents in the fridge, i decided to leave the fridge on, we will be back in a couple of weeks. The q...
We made the decision last year to go full-time in an RV with our 4 children. The funny thing is, we have only been an RV once prior to making that decision. Our lease is up in March and I have been searching high and low for an RV that will work for us. At first, I thought we'd just get a Class A, but the safety rec...
Well the season started and here i go again with the water heater. When the propane runs low I get the smell of propane. When it is full there is no smell and works fine. Here is my major concern. WHen I first light the heater for the season or if the propane runs out, I light the pilot hold for a minute the and t...
I just became an official user. I have been following the page for more than a year but can tell by the interaction, knowledge and respect shown by all that this is a quality group of folks! Thanks to Howard and Linda for sharing their dream so that others can explore and create their own dreams as wel...
We enjoyed the 2010 RV-Dreams rally and attended the great class on Blogging. We've wanted to blog for a long time and here goes our first attempt. Please take a look and give us your feedback, we want to do our best. Enjoy! R Sanity RV Adventures at www.rsanityrvtravels.blogspot.com Best Regards...
Being a camp host requires many talents, but there is no Red Cross on the side of my rig. If I had a dime for every camper who knocked on the door over the years asking fo band aides or other medical supplies, I would be wealthy. Please folks, buy a nice first aide kit and take it with you when you go camping.
In the last few days we have sold most of our furniture. The only big pieces left are our bedroom set and that is on craigslist. I am doing well with sorting through things. Everything for the 5er is going in a walk-in closet in the back of the house. Everything for the moving sale in May is up towards th...
Can you guys tell me if thier is any benifit to running the generator while driving to help charge the batteries faster? We love to boondock and stay in remote federal camp grounds, some do not allow running a generator so when we leave are house batteries are low and we may only travel two or three hours t...
We are still working, until the end of August, but I have started a blog. I don't post everyday, hopefully I will get better at it. We post mainly for our family and friends, we consider RV-Dreams as family, please take a minute and I would appreciate any helpful hints you have to help me improve our site....
Well we did it. G-Ma found an 03 Jayco on Craigslist I went and took a look at it and made a deal. I will pick it up next week. I am still wondering who this woman is and what she did with my wife. She talks and walks just like G-Ma. Back to the TT, it is 28 foot long and very simple but it will get us started.
We're currently in Gulf Shores, AL (Luxury RV Park). We want to go out for seafood, but there are literally dozens of seafood restaurants. Anyone have a recommendation as to where to go? We'd rather not do fancy.... we've heard about "buckets of Royal Reds" -- and little local seafood s...
Ok we are on the big push to get ready and put the house on the market... The Landscapers have been here all day working on the flower beds around the house and the garage... they are filling all the low spots in the yard and reseeding where it is needed... We have moved the camper up to a FT spot at a local camp...
Well folks.....we took our RV out for it's first trip. We will be going full time in about 4 weeks and figured we better take it once on a little excursion before we move in completely. We have some great words of wisdom to share. 1. Don't trust your GPS (we call ours Pam). Pam took us on a one way skinny r...
Well recently I tried geocaching here locally and at first thought I'd really like it but after going out a handful of times (and thankfully not purchasing a handheld GPS) I've come to the conclusion I don't think I really care for it. LOL! Maybe because I'm doing it here in town and going out for hikes...
Hi all! Well I've been thru two weeks of moving from my 3-bdrm house into my fiver, by myself (although I did have someone take my stuff to storage). What a job!! I am now happily almost completely esconced in my fiver and I have a question about hanging pictures. Actually I asked this before and some of...
Having just discovered RV-Dreams in February - a GREAT find - and having attended the fabulous April rally where I could not answer any of the ice breaker questions from the web site or journals, I've decided I better get with it. So to that end I've now read from the website About Us, the story of thei...
While we sort out the right truck/trailer for FT, which is probably two years from now, we thought about towing a small TT for an upcoming cross country trip, and weekend trips for now. We have a new E-Series van, small V8, used in our business, which is rated to tow well within the loaded weight most l...
A couple of days ago I had an interesting dream. I was going on my first trip in my RV and headed west on I-70 and it was in the late afternoon and it was snowing but not snowing that hard. While I am driving I get the urge to use the bathroom so I pull off in a Rest Area and use the toilet in my RV. When I am in there I...
Who do those of you who have an additional umbrella policy buy yours from. We bought our 5ver and fulltimers insurance from Miller Insurance but was a little disappointed when the agent I was talking to didn't seem willing to sell me an umbrella policy.
I am a full timer. Have been one for two years. I presently live in a 45' RV Class A. I have two computers in my Coach. A Laptop and Desktop. I use the built in wifi card in the laptop and have been doing ok with that because of the size of my RV I usually have to stay in good parks. I installed an Alfa usb connected...
Please bare with me while I explain what I want to do. I am looking at getting a flat bed to pull my 5th wheel (don't own anything yet...but lets say it is 16K lbs loaded). I want to be able to take my Harley with me, strap it down right behind the cab. It would be even better if I could take the Harley and my 4 whee...
I brought a portable waste water blue boy tank the other day. It came with this bent metal do-dad or maybe it's a thing-ma-jig, either way I don't know what it is used for. Any ideas?
Actually, the greatest scare in my life was standing up in front of 300+ church members to give a short talk. I've NEVER known fear like that. But back to the "almost". Today, Jo and I had the great joy and privilege to meet and visit with Connie and Tracy (Contra) for a few hours. They are pas...
That's how I feel about what's left to do. Although some of it is not so little.... House goes on the market on Monday....yay....and we've been working hard to get things out of here. Kids took most of the "stuff", sold some "stuff" on ebay and craigslist, sold some more "s...

Never been smoked in or had pets stay in it and it is claimed to be a single owner So wha...
