Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
In the last few days we have sold most of our furniture. The only big pieces left are our bedroom set and that is on craigslist. I am doing well with sorting through things. Everything for the 5er is going in a walk-in closet in the back of the house. Everything for the moving sale in May is up towards the front.
Lookin' pretty darn bare in here...echo...echo....echo...echo...
Now that we have several "irons in the fire" regarding job opportunities, we are feeling pretty darn excited about this new adventure while keeping our feet firmly planted in reality....whatever that is....
Today has been a rest day, as yesterday was pretty hectic. We did not rush to get up, had breakfast at our favorite Mexican place, picked up a few things for the rig, worked this afternoon and then it is snooker in a little while.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend!

Congratulations on your progress. We also spent the weekend packing the 5er. I haven't had time to read all the posts, so am not sure exactly where you are in the process. Is your house sold? Are you heading out soon?

We are resident managers of a self-storage facility near Austin, having sold both our properties a few years ago. Guess you could say we sort of "workamp" now, the company providing a nice residence and basic utilities along with salary.
We are getting ready for a moving sale to be held in mid May and doing things like getting eye exams, finishing scanning documents, etc. After the sale, we can concentrate on getting the 5er loaded, order the satellite system for Internet, get health insurance and so on. We will be training the replacement management team and may be staying in a nearby RV park the last couple of weeks if we are all loaded up.
We will be heading to work at a KOA in Wisconsin, leaving Texas in early July. We'll make a stop in Livingston to set up mailing address and so on and a stopover at our dealer a little farther north for a bit of warranty work and then it's northward-bound!
Hopefully we will be working some with our current company in the fall and winter as roving relief/interim managers. Along with that I'll be doing virtual assistant work online and whatever else Dave and I can get ourselves into work-wise! We are not Medicare age and need to work, but have decided to "make the jump" while we still are physically able to do so.
That's my story! What are guys up to regarding plans, etc?
Cheers, Betty

Snooker is the British equivalent of our pool. (My husband Dave is from Scotland.)
Snooker is typically played on a much larger than average pool table, the balls are a wee bit smaller than our pool balls and the pockets are a bit smaller.
IMHO it is much more of a fun and strategic game than say 8-ball or so on.
You should have seen me when we first got the table back in MN in 2006. My snooker skills have increased dramatically! I actually win some frames and rarely bounce a ball off the table!
Of course, Dave must have had a partially ill-spent youth, because he really is quite good at snooker.
Anyhow, we are pretty much homebodies and enjoy each other's company. So, instead of going to movies or whatever we quite often wind down with a few frames in the evenings. Yep, all that after working together side-by-side, living together, running errands together, and getting ready to go full-timing!
Cheers, Betty
