Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are finally going to get our tow bar and brake system. We are installing it on our Newmar coach and a 2006 Honda CRV. The question I have is about the rock guard. Do we really need one? If we do any recommendations to either the vertical or horizontal one would be great. They quoted us on ones called The G...
I have a 2008 DRV Mobile Suites 38'. Does anyone know how the tanks are situated? I'm assuming that from front to back it's the Fresh Water Tank, followed by the Grey Water Tank, followed by the Black Water Tank. I could be totally wrong> I'm assuming that none of the tanks are stacked but again I c...
Hello, all! If you're reading this, thank you! I hope you'll be able to learn a bit about me, and that we can talk and become friends! And if you've been on this forum for a long time, or have been RVing (is that how you say it?) for a long time (or even a little time!), I hope you'll lend me some of your wisdom! J...
I have a 2008 MS 38' and have a question. Is there a switch for the tank heater pads? Does the grey tank have a heat pad or does it rely on the belly heat from the furnace in cold weather. We've been in our RV in Brighton, CO for the last 3 winters. Have most of the winter issues worked out. However, last night i...
Ok, I've seen some threads discussing the comfort level (or lack thereof) of watching a tv in a MH that's mounted above the windshield (you have to strain your neck or sit sideways to view). Here's another (probably dumb) question.... I noticed when looking at photos, that the privacy curtains are u...

The last post on an older thread about this company was by Jack Mayer in 2011. The technology and service changes rather frequently in this field. I'm wondering if there are any more recent thoughts/opinions out there?
We are hoping to get started in about 3 yrs. My wife will be ready to retire then. Researching the industry the right fit. So far we like the Cedar Creek and the 3500 Chevy dually. We are hoping to make a lot of friends here. lol Larry and Kim
We've been fulltime for a week already and just now we are decompressing from a crazy start to this life. We had a plan that went out the window with all the freezing weather in the north east and meeting someone that has made us so happy. We had the family spend Christmas in the house for last time but when...
25 years ago today Lee and I were married. For years we have planned a 2 week trip to London to celebrate. Instead we are anxiously awaiting our ordered RV and diligently working our debt free plan and I couldn't be happier. I found a 25th anniversary wooden picture frame (light weight and non breaka...
Anyone else in Texas wondering where the warm sunshine is that was promised? All I heard for a year or 3 was "Come on down to Texas, its warm here in the winter" I write this as I watch ice hit the windows..... Located in frozen Flatonia
Is anyone out there full timing with Fibromyalgia? While I am a number of years away from FTing, I am hopeful to see America from a motorhome. I have Fibro and was in remission, but symptoms are coming back. Just started meds again. I also see an accupunturist weekly. Wondering how do you manage your sy...
Hi and thank you to all who welcomed me so kindly..I thought I would start by asking an easy question. What is the difference between a "light" 5th wheel and a regular one? In order to get what we want and buy the largest RV that we can afford, (afterall this will be our only home) we want an RV t...
Just started working on our 2013 taxes, wanted to get an early start due to selling the house, donating tons of stuff, trading our truck in (business asset) for a bigger truck and just trying to see how much of our paperwork is still catching up with us due to a new address. I spent several hours using It's...
Every evening our 5er makes these popping noises on the drivers side (occasionally on the passenger side) undercarriage/ slider areas, usually the dining/fridge area, but tonight it's in the front (we have a front LR) which shakes the 5er. Happens ever few minutes. Any ideas??
Hi everyone, I’m glad to meet you all. My husband Jim and I are in the gathering information stage. We are looking at purchasing a used truck and brand new 5th wheel to live in full time, so we have lots of questions as we have had neither. We are middle aged, quite a ways from retirement, but we are yearn...
When I introduced myself 3 months ago I thought I had it all planned: Sell the house, sell the Jeep, buy a van, buy a trailer, spend winters in Florida and come back to PA in the summers. After lots more research and really considering how I will live, I realize I want a MH instead and will keep/tow my Jeep...
Last May we bought a new 5th wheel. The dealer told us we could use the interest on this loan as a tax write off just as we do on our sticks and bricks, as the 5th wheel is considered a 2nd home. Anyone out there taking this deduction and if so, how do indicate it on your tax return? Thanks, Marilyn
605 days to go. Received my conversion adapter to make my truck tail lights compatible with my trailer. Yesterday, my air brake to electric brake controller arrived. Waiting patiently for the dealer to advise that he has shipped my 5er. I asked that he keep her wrapped in a blanket until she ships. I do...
I got up just like any other Friday, got on the treadmill, did 3 miles like I always do Mon, Wed, Fri, since 2005 (I do not treadmill on Saturday, EVER!!!) because I had very high blood pressure, got off the treadmill, got some coffee and said to myself this is not Friday (Daah!!!) this is Saturday, calle...
We use our Verizon cellular plan to connect to the internet with our iPad while on the road. Is there a way to connect an external antenna or booster to the iPad to improve the signal? Thanks, Ron
With our plans to retire in July and move to the Colorado Springs area, I called Mountaindale Cabins and RV Resort last night to go ahead and book an RV site. Jesse (SirWinston21) here on the forums had strongly advised that I book early in order to be sure of getting a site, especially for one where we wo...
My husband and I made the decision last year to start planning for a full-time RV lifestyle. We still need a few years before we can hit the road -- we are targeting Spring of 2018, when I will be 55 and he will be 45. In the meantime, we bought our first camper on eBay last summer, a 2005 Coachmen Spirit of Ame...
We were at rv.trader today looking for something totally different but came across the new Vegas by Thor. I'm aware that some don't regard Thor favorably, but that aside, this really is SO much different. They are calling it a RUV, Recreational Utility Vehicle. It is a Class A body on a Ford chassis...
Hi all, We we were given the above router as a Christmas gift a year ago and set it up with tech support from the 3-G store but we've passed the free tech support time limit. We got the new Millenicom Pantech Jetpack and have attempted to set it up so we can print directly from our iPads, phones, computer u...
I've made plenty of campground reservations in the past, but this time it felt different! That's because (hopefully) we'll be full-time RVers and not just vacationers! We will be in the Seattle area for a family reunion beginning of July. Then on to Indiana for the fall rally in September. Aft...
Hello! I wanted to ask if anyone here has heard of/used or know anyone who has used an extended warranty company called "XtraRide Protective Asset Protection". When we purchased our Landmark, the dealer gave us info about them and said we could sign up for this at "new" rates f...
I've experimenting with a blog here: www.campervamp.comI haven't made a post in a couple of months (will get back to it this month), and so far I've only documented our backstory, but I would love to get some early feedback on the idea/theme. Thanks!P.S. I will be at the Spring Rally (Tricia & Dave...
Well I guess this is really happening! After a month of frantic painting, repairing, and cleaning, we signed the papers today to sell the house. We have purchased a Ford F350 dually to pull our Arctic Fox 32-5M. Our realtor thinks the house will sell quickly (fingers crossed). If so, we will stay in the...
