Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm getting a bit scared learning all the things I didn't know I didn't know. Neither my husband nor I are mechanically inclined. He's a wiz at building and fixing computers, but the most he can do under the hood of a car is measure the fluids and give the battery a jump start. I see so much great advice b...
Yesterday we closed on a 2011 Winnebago Vista 35F and drove it 90 miles home.Everything went well at the dealers. It started out to be a miserable day, very cold, cloudy, windy and forecast for snow for the 90 mile trek south and back. We weren't looking forward to the walk through, because it's normal...
My wife and I are looking to get a new 5th wheel and we wanted to put our own bed in it since we just purchased. Doe any one out there have one in their 5th wheel that can give me more information.
Dust seems to be getting to us in South Texas, more so than in the past. With the wife's asthma getting worse, we need to do something to purify the air. Has anyone bought a purifier, and would you share your experience with us. Thank you in advance.......
Is there a website that has monthly rates throughout the country for extended stays. Sondra and I purchased a 5th wheel and we are getting ready to take on this beautiful country. We want to go to places all over the USA. We are looking for a website that will provide us with a list of camp grounds and pa...
My husband and I are in the process of selling our home so we can buy our new home on wheels. We have been looking and are very confused, if I was rich so as just to have one built it would be great but I am going to have to settle with as many things as I can get on one since they won't let me take this part of this one...
Hi all, I'm giving serious consideration to becoming a full-timer before next winter but would have to buy a cheap, old RV. I can't afford much. The plan would be to hang out up north in the summer then escape to the south for the winter. I've a ways to go before I can collect SS so I have to continue wor...

If they are still checking in but not posting just wanted to let them know they are missed. Hope it just means you are on the road and enjoying your rv time. I see where Snowgypsy is not going to po...
Have a question for all the folks who have been doing this awhile. So your on the road for 7 years and your truck or RV needs replaced or major work done. I am curious if you got a loan or paid cash. How difficult was it to get a loan with a nomadic lifestyle?? Not everyone has a chunk of money set aside for s...
As many of you know My 94 year old dad has been living and travelling with us for the past 10 years. He suffered from dementia and on Saturday he peacefully slipped away. He had a passion for life and loved to travel. During his RVing years he progressed from tents, to TTs to motorhomes. His mechanica...

Our furnace has been working great, until last night. We keep it set at 58 Degrees until bedtime and then turn it down to 50. It was working fine until about 9 last night. It started getting cold so I went back to check the thermostat and it was down to about 50 though set at 58. I powered it off and then bac...
I thought I would post this link after visits with a few other FT RV'ers and my aunt and uncle (snowbirds from Idaho) who all thought this was an extremely clever idea. To us it was nothing new, we've had it for a few years, but for a litter box on the road, it works GREAT!! We also had this in our S&B for a...
Hello! I'm turned 50 in 2013 and all hell broke loose! Quit my job, changed my name, and took off to travel by myself in Europe (couchsurfing and AirBNB make it reasonable $$). I'm back now because my youngest is in his senior year of high school. But when he graduates, my plan is to sell my house, fulltime...
There is a bright yellowish/gold sphere in the sky over Washington DC! Seems I remember seeing something like this before, but it's been a long time and can't remember what it was. Anybody know what it might be? Gino
I have been trolling the internet (Cars.com, Autotrader.com, Ebay) for some time to keep a finger on what's available in the way of tow vehicles. I'm specifically looking for a 2011-13 Silverado, diesel, DRW, CC, 4x2. One odd thing I've found is that the huge majority of these vehicles are located...
Hello - Well, we bought our 5th wheel a week ago. We put a deposit down and the dealer is keeping it/storing it untii decent weather. We are in upper midwest. What a winter! Our question -- They fed ex'd the contract for us to sign for final purchase and rest of money. The contract simply lists the...
We'll be meandering across Interstate 10 from Arizona to about Baton Rouge to head north to our spring workamping job in Branson, Mo and we're looking for campgrounds and must-see stops along the way. We'll be starting around early February and take a month to get there. We aren't set up for boondocki...

We are planning to sell our home this spring and hit the road full time….that’s the plan anyway. I’m curious, have any of you ever considered purchasing a couple of RV lots so you have some place to land occasionally? Something that belongs to you, no rules, fees, neighbors, etc. I am sick of home own...
Hi everyone I am a first timer gonnabe here soon. I have a budget between 45 and 50 grand for the truck and the 5th wheel and want the most for my money. Now this is cash mind you, I do not want any loan payments etc and I have no problem buying used. What I really need to know is are there brands to gravitate to or...
