Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We've been fulltime for 3+ years. Never knew what an RV was before we started this but now I wouldn't trade it for the world. We know we're 5th wheel people...no Class A. I like the separation of where we travel and where I live. And anyone can work on a truck. So, since my 1st research, Keystone and Heartla...
Folks I am looking to embark in a full time lifestyle in 5yrs or so. Hence the planning has begun. My question> What is an appropriate length class A diesel pusher i should think about? Here are my foreseeable needs... 1. I will buy a USED one and pay cash for it. 2. The MH has to last me about 15yrs, so til...
I’ve found another good thread on the forum about laundry, but the discussion was all about laundromats vs. on-board washers/dryers. We have selected a fifth wheel that is prepped for W/D in the front closet, but we’re not sure we want to add the weight to the front of the RV (only have a ¾ ton truck). We’...
Just moved into our RV. It is set up with a Winegard 1000 satellite dish for "Dish TV". I want to go with a home account rather than a RV account. Reason is, you can get the Hopper and Joeys with a home account and not with an RV account "according to the tech". Have no need for Pay A...
So where is everyone at right now? I will start - we are in Sanger, Texas at a nice little RV park - enjoying our time that we have left in Texas - we will be here until October 1st - then off to Colorado and Utah!!!
So, I began my search for my 1st 5th wheel or RV of any type this weekend by visiting a show in West Palm Beach. I've done a lot of reading and am aware or many brands and their quality as perceived by most experienced RV'ers. There are a couple of brands I haven't seen commented on and was wondering what pe...
Hi, everyone. I'm 38, divorced, and I'm new to this RV thing (I stayed in an old pop-up a few times as a kid...lol). I've always gone to RV shows and randomly wondered about RV lots, but never had the time or money for one. Now I'm looking to live in one. I don't plan on traveling the country or anything at thi...
We have also posted this in another forum - so apologies for anyone seeing this twice! We just bought our first RV - a Monaco Diplomat 1999, it's in great shape however the pleated blinds are dusty and a bit stained. Looking for suggestions of how to safely clean the blinds and how others maintain them over time. Thanks for any help! Jean

We had some excitement here at Monck Provincial Park yesterday. A boater ran up to the gatehouse to warn us of a bear that was swimming across the lake and was headed for the beach and day use area. My fellow work camper Doug rushed down in his golf cart to warn everyone. The bear ran from the beach and throu...
Hello all,
My DH Gene and I hope to become part-timers in about two years time. Does anyone know of another term for RV port homes? We recently learned of these from a couple that were workcamping in West Yellowstone. They have an RV port home in Florida. We hope to move to the Dallas Fort Worth area in Te...
2 years ago we left our driveway for the last time.Hard to believe it’s been that long, time has flown. As we finish year 2, we’re so thankful that this year was much less eventful and complicated than our first year.We figured out quickly that we needed to slow down. We’ve traveled less miles, been...
Just started my research in January for my retirement travels days, roughly 9-10 years from now. We know for sure that we're looking for a 5er, and I already have a short list of candidates. But there's more to do. Price and size are definitely serious considerations. Plus, we're still not sure if w...
Has anyone moved to New Hampshire to establish residency because of their tax rates? Also have you switched domiciles after making purchases of Rv and tow vehicile? Just wondering, something we are considering.Taxes on our expected purchases could run close to 9k. thanks

Have spent the morning catching up on my reading. One topic I've not seen covered (maybe it has but I've just not come across it, and my search efforts have come up dry), is this: Once we acquire our Coach, which we hope to do sometime in the next six to eight months - I'd like to have ready a list of spare pa...
Does anyone have a supply contact to purchase RV Power Pedestals? I would like to purchase a couple of them to install at my two commercial buildings. That way can plug in to sufficient power rather than an adapter off of 15 amp. I am thinking about getting the 30 amp/ 50 amp combo unit. They can be pedesta...
As most know by now I have Congestive heart failure and COPD amongst body aches and pains! I read a topic of RVers looking for biking trails. I know most State parks have them and some suburbs of Cities have greenways w/bike trails.. This got me to thinking as I have a suspension style mountain bike wit...

Hi all. I joined this great site to ask this question that has haunted me this summer season. I have a older travel trailer that is pretty much set up as a park model it doesn't move much anymore. I have always used 30lb tanks with no problem. This spring I decided to use a 100lb tank for the first time. We...
I have a 2014 dodge 3500 6.7 turbo diesel, thinking about adding air ride suspension, towing a 40' fiver. trying to get a softer ride when not towing.. any good ideas !!
Went by our storage unit tonight to repack the truck for our next art show and found it ransacked. Nothing appears to be missing but we had some damage and lots of clean up to deal with and reorganizing. Damage wasn't great enough to warrant turning this into our insurance as our deductible is more th...
Hi all, It seems that my black tank shut-off (slide valve) is leaking by, allowing liquid to drain with valve closed ( pull handle not going in all the way either ). May have something logged in the seat. Is there a way to flush up through the drain line to clean it ? Already filled and dumped the tank sev...
There has always been the question of, what is considered fulltime, just living in an RV or actually traveling in an RV. Well to avoid the conflict we recognize both!!! Hey why not, we always look for a reason to celebrate LOL!!!So with this in mind on July 1st we came up on our 3 year Anniversary of Full-...
While surfing the web this morning, RV shopping, I came upon what at first glance appears to be a great buy on a 2010 Tiffin Phaeton. ($119,000 for a 40'DP seems to be a REAL good buy). A couple of things in the ad raised my "spidey senses". Before I responded to it, I'm interested in a few un...
I'ts been a lengthy process and a little bit of a struggle but we will finally claim our little piece of heaven by 6-9-15! We chose to go with an older coach after seeing her sitting in a parking lot in Barberton Ohio. I looked at my girlfriend Mia and said "You know i think that she might be just what w...
Anybody have experience with route 395 in California? I'll be traveling from Yuma, Az to Susanville, Ca (northern California) & Good Sam's RV trip planner has me going over 400 miles on Ca 395. Any difficult mountain passes to worry about? Is this the best route to take? Also, does anyone know of a...
