Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My husband and I have been researching RVing. Neither of us have ever owned an RV or have any experience in camping, except maybe my husband who spent 21 years "camping" a lot while in the military. RV Dreams have answered many questions, however, I always have more. We plan to attend th...

I tried a search on here for others with an issue on the bigfoot leveler, none found with this issue so I thought I would ask the group. I have a 15 Lifestyle 38RS that we bought in May this year and the auto level is not working right. I have done a recalibration about 5 times now but it doesn't last very long....
Hi everyone, just registered for the Fall rally in Michigan and thought I'd introduce myself here. I'm from Colorado, and about 3 months ago I sold my house in Aurora, sold most of my possessions, stored the rest, bought my first ever RV (a 2005 Itasca Sunova 34', named her Bianca), a new tow vehicle (...
I have a 2002 Carriage Cameo LXI. How do I completely pump the black and grey tanks out? They are reporting full with the tester button. When I flush the toilet, I can hear the pump come on, but how do I keep the pump going without have to flush the toilet? Or, are the tanks supposed to remain full all the time...
We have been researching our first RV. We like the Keystone Courgar and Montana model fifth wheels. We will be using it part-time to begin with. Since it is just the 2 of us, we would like something in the 30 - 37' models. However, it seems those lengths all have queen-size beds. Do you know of any tha...
I'm so pleased with the new spice drawers that I just installed in one of the storage bins above our recliners that I just had to show them to others. They're very well made and come in all sorts of sizes to fit most cupboards. I'll try to attach a picture: <[URL=http://s963.photobucket.com/user...
I haven't posted here yet so here goes. Went from gonna be to am. After growing up in Canton, OH area and moving around quite a bit through being an exchange student, the military and college. I got tired of the dark Lake Erie winter clouds that last from October through April, heeded the advice of s...
So here's the situation...throwing it out there it my RV Dreams friends to get their thoughts. We started on the road 11/14 of this year and because we sold the house at less than we wanted still have a bit of debt to pay off ($23K). We will have to work (we are only 48 and 46 and don't have investments to...
Hi Everyone. This may have come up before, and I did a little searching but couldn't really find anything I'm looking for specifically... Sooo.... What job's does everyone do on the road? I am learning to code, web development, and I keep getting these moments of, do I really want to do this? Can I do...
We're brand new to this idea (although I did have a 61 VW Sundial Camper bus at one time, along with vague plans, that I could shoot myself for selling!) and we're really just learning that there's SO MUCH to learn! We're based out of AZ (for now) & leaning towards a 35-footer we can drive & tow a je...
Hello all, My husband and I are seriously contemplating diving headfirst into full-time RV life. We are chefs, currently live in the great little city of Buffalo, NY. I have many questions, but the one we are talking about right now is, how many full-timers, of working age, are doing this without a re...
Ok, so I have been given a travel trailer by my dad. My husband recently got a job working in plants, but we have to travel full time. Having said this, this is why my dad gave it to me. All i know about said trailer is it is a Carriage 35' x 8'. It has no slides and no holding tanks. He calls it a park model. I k...
Hello all, My husband and I are chefs, currently living in the very awesome little city of Buffalo, NY. We are in our late 40's/ early 50's. We recently hit upon this idea about full-time RV'ing, having never done anything like it before and now it's all we are talking about (the pros, the cons, the co...
Things just got real for us today. We put a “hold” on a DRV Full House toy hauler – LX450. We’re impressed with DRV's quality, and thi...
My husband and I live in AZ and are getting really excited and obsessed with the idea of having a home base to come back to periodically, but living 90% of the time out of an RV - traveling to see friends & family, working our businesses from the road, and exploring both new and familiar places - primar...
Help! I replaced my main Dometic air conditioner. No problems at all, works great. It had a 7-wire thermostat. I replaced it with a Dometic 3-wire thermostat. Married up the wires, all simple enough, and as I said works great. BUT. My Atwood furnace also worked through the thermostat. After wiring up...
Hello everyone. I will be writing on behalf of myself, and my husband. We made the decision a few days ago to do it, to become full time RVers, and now I can't stop thinking about it! We have a few things against us right now, the biggy being debt. We should be out of debt in 3.5 years, but this will be all cre...
Has anyone attended one of the Workamper Rondezvous in Heber Springs, Arkansas? If so, did you find it worth the expense (about $440 registration for the two of us if we register early for a three-day seminar)? Thanks, Rob

The site has been visited by those from overseas who have asked questions about RV trips in the US. I want to turn the tables. I will be visiting the UK, Scotland, and Ireland in September. I know that one can rent an RV, or in their language, hire a caravan in the UK. I am wondering if anyone who has done...
We bought a 2006 Holiday Rambler last month, like it very much. Went out on a coupleof shake down trips. One thing that happened several times, that may not really be a problem. If we had half the lights on at one time the 12V system would shut down for about 30 seconds to one minute. Turned some lights of...
We have a Dometic Fridge. Twice, recently, it has suddenly lost all power. In poking around, trying to find out what was wrong, Kev opened the outside lower access panel. There's a black box that has a reset "button" on it and when he pressed that it had power and resumed working just fine...
We are starting to look for solutions to store our winter clothes which we need to carry with us, but most likely won't fit in the RV closets/drawers. I'm looking at air-tight storage bins to avoid ants, bugs, moths, moisture, etc. if placed in the storage below the motorhome. Anyone use air-tight s...
