Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Last night we confirmed that we will be getting a 2011 Volvo 780 named Storm! I know, it is a huge truck. After hearing so many stories over the last few years about people losing the engine in their trucks or having to go really slowly over mountains and scary downhill tales plus some great advice/info f...
Last Spring there was a discussion about what software to use to organize and edit our photos. I have searched and searched and cannot find that thread. So, can we open up this topic again and would you please share what you are using and why you like it. Appreciate your help. Thanks
Those of you we were fortunate enough to meet at the spring rally know that we were moving toward a launch date sometime in late 2015 or early 2016. Then we had to high-tail it home from the rally (had planned another week of travelling) as we learned that Laura's lower jaw had fractured spontaneously af...
Hi eveyone, I am so excited to be part of the community. I am waiting for paperwork to get done so I can pick up my "new(to me)" 1998 Pace Arrow. I have been a camper all of my life and this summer I am spending the season in my 13 foot Shasta trailer. I have never done a lot of traveling and I just want...
Hi I'm Pamela. I'm a professional photographer and work remotely for a pretty amazing photography hosting tech company out of Cali. I have been splitting my time between Utah and Chicago but with a heartbreaking recent breakup I'm ready for my next adventure. Ever since I was a child I've always want...
So nearly five years ago we started our RV adventures and met many amazing people on this site... since landing on this site years ago, the Army has taken me and my family around the world. We have lived off and on in our coach and now the Army is giving me another short assignment to the Bay Area and we are th...
Hi All, I noticed that several folks on this forum still work a "traditional job" while on the road. This is so inspiring to me since I'll also keep my full-time job once we start full-time RVing. If you'd like to share, I'd love to hear about your tips, tricks and success stories! (Ap...
Hello Everyone, I joined his site a few years ago and finally now have a clean used Class C. American Cobra 1989, low miles and roomy. The only thing missing is the bedroom I wanted but Im not had to please. So I have many questions and some fears. Im letting my house go and Im a person who values her securi...
Can't really tell. I'm in a 5th wheel, parked on the grass for about a month now. Jacks are on wooden blocks. I noticed yesterday that the entire coach is much lower to the ground (by a few feet) from the time we parked it, although it is still perfectly level. The wood is still above the ground, so I would th...
OK, all you experienced full-timers.....we are new to this. Sold our home in early June. So how can we get the 30' fifth wheel washed? We no longer have a driveway and waterhose. I know there are places that will wash it for you. Do they open the slide-outs and wash the slide toppers, etc? How do you...
I'm going to nominate I-40 from Flagstaff to Kingman as one of the Highways from Hell! The road is almost as bad as I-10 from New Orleans to the Texas state line. We came across Friday and it is awful, at least the west travel section. Road really, really needs a lot of work. Barb
I have seen various recommendations around the forum suggesting that before one purchases a used diesel pusher, to request an engine oil analysis as part of the pre-purchase inspection process. I think I've also heard mention of transmission fluid and possibly even engine coolant analysis be...

The biggest decision has been made Wannabes going to Gonnabes! We are in the earliest stages of becoming Fulltimers. So many questions, so much to learn. Our brains are going wacko...where to start, what do we need to do first, etc....Don't want all our advice coming from the dealership's..after...
I've been writing this for some time now and posted it this afternoon... I hope you enjoy reading it and that it inspires folks in some way to NEVER give up! Why I RV Full-Time
It's getting hot out now, and the inside of our 2015 Sightseer 33C was BOILING today when we arrived at the RV park. I vaguely recall the RV guy saying we could run the coach AC units. Is this true? It would be sweet to cool off the back bedroom and the living area so that it doesn't take 5 hours to cool down...
We have had Progressive on our camper for the last year. Looking for recommendations from readers here on what you all think is the best. Progressive is quite expensive, but we will pay for the right coverage. Thank you all, Patricia in La.
Are you or is someone you know looking for a fulltime or parttime home with covered RV parking in the Texas Tropics? This fully furnished home is located in Retama Village in Mission, TX and is a great value when compared to new construction. Retama Village is a gated, 55+ active adult community. We...
Hiya folks! I'm seeing daylight when I look at the bottom corners of my slides. I hate the idea of bugs getting in. Do I need some kind of caulk or something to seal up these cracks, or is it a problem with the slides? As always, thanks MUCH for the advice!
Hi all.. We have a Class A diesel pusher and are going full time this spring. I'm wondering what fulltimers do when they have to take the RV in for service.... It can sometimes take days or even weeks to get looked at for repairs or just general maintenance like oil changes or 60,000 mile check ups. Wher...
I am confused as to how to determine the correct tire pressure for our rv tires. Can someone give me the "formula" that we are supposed to go by in order to determine correct pressure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
We're Al & Barbara originally from OH but sold the house & everything in it (no storage unit for us!!) in April 2012. We are on our 2nd RV- the first a Keystone Montana which we loved, while we waited for the house to sell. Then bought the Open Range Toy Hauler we dreamed about. But I found we didn't...
Looking for some advice here. We have a box mounted Sani Con system on the MH. We are one month in on a summer long trip and the hose started to leak where the twist lock is below the gate valves. I new the original clear piece had a broken ear but it hadn't leaked the year that we have owned the MH. I thought I ca...
A week ago our 18 year old niece flew in for a visit. We had planned this visit after my Dad and I both decided we didn’t want to fly to TX in early June for an outdoor high school graduation ceremony, instead we thought it would be more fun to fly our new graduate to us for about 12 days and split the time she...
My girlfriend and I just purchased a 1978 Ford Travel Craft 21-ft RV. It has a 460 Ford Chassis engine. Cosmetically, inside and out, the condition is remarkable considering its 37 year old age. We bought it yesterday and drove it home, a mere two hour drive, and it did not make it home without breaking...
Our sights are on Spring, 2016. We are getting the house ready to sell, shooting for the first of the year, 2016. We are very excited and ready to start our new lifestyle. We attended the 2015 Spring Rally which was awesome. Bob and I have been RVing together for a long time and still learned so many new t...
