Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi folks! We've put together a fantastic tour of the Oregon coast for MID AUGUST 2016. Anyone can drive up the coast and it is beautiful, but we have put together 14 days of fun activities from riding the sand dunes, to learning to crab and clam, to whizzing upriver on a jet boat, to visiting a local rum di...
For 3 months now we have been in agreement that we need another purge of the RV. However, between art shows for Dale, my corporate work from home job being waaaaay busier than normal and mechanical issue, after mechanical issue, rinse repeat, etc, we just haven't gotten it done. Today I just reali...

Mike and I are going to be crossing into Canada the end of the week. Washington State to British Columbia. Last year in a car we crossed at Lariet - not Osoyoos. Does it make it difference where we cross with a 5th wheel? Any tips? We've already picked up on the fact that we shouldn't have fresh produc...

We will be heading out West next spring on a 8 month tour of the National Parks. In the process we expect to rack up a lot of road miles both on our tow vehicle and our 5th wheel.
Till now we have gotten along fine with out a monitoring system but feel it's the right time to get this in place before we go.

I wasn't sure where to post this question??? I am looking to travel the States for around a year or so in just under two years time with my wife and very young child (still a bump at this point) and was wondering if there is anyone out there that is already doing this on a foreign passport. Are there do's and d...
We are voracious readers (and haven't begun fulltiming yet, but will be within a couple months). I now use my public library. I don't purchase books very often as I read so much. Any suggestions for on-the-road access to books? Thanks, Karen
Bulow RV Resort in Florida, near to Palm Coast is not such a great CG. Restrooms/Showers are outdated. We stayed there just this past week and they were quite dirty as well. No place to put your towels, and change of clothes. One of the shower blocks/toilets, doors do not close properly at all and al...
Hi, I am thinking of retiring in the spring and joining the solo full time rv world. There is so much to think about: what to buy, can I really drive a truck with a 23 foot travel trailer, will I be able to find part time work or income along the way.... I am hoping this site will help me answer many of these ques...
Had my bi-yearly EKG which has stayed the same, YAY! Then seen the Cardiologist who is changing my Lipitor to Zetia which I was told doesn't metabolize in the Liver and should reduce some physical pain. Also has reduced the strength of the beta blocker Metaprolol Tartrate. Told me if I have a complica...

On a recent 4K mile trip I experienced tire temps of 120 with ambient temps of 95. This with Goodyear G614 tires inflated cold to 105 PSI with a trailer weight of 11,700 lbs. (Total weight of 14,700 lbs.) divided between two axles. Tire temps always run in a max range of 3 psi and 5 degrees of each other. ...
We're planning a spring break with extended family next year in the Tucson area so I started looking for RV parks that have either cabins or hotels available. Any tips on how to locate those kind of resorts, especially ones that allow kids in a region that have a LOT of 55+ age restrictions? So far one o...
I'm sure this question has been posted but I'll ask again, what time of year is best to purchase a fifth wheel. Summer seems to be peak RV season to me. We would like to buy one new or used in the next month but if it can make a big difference we would wait. Any thoughts would be appreciate. Thanks, Dave
As I am working on our routing for the later portion of our trip in September, would any of you be able to tell me if US 101 south from Forks, WA to Astoria, OR is a safe route for pulling our 5th wheel. We are 55' long from the tip of the Ram to the back of the Montana. Going up to the penisula we will be travelin...
Hello from Lubbock, Texas. My husband and I just sold our business and are now getting the house ready to sell and getting rid of 30 years of "stuff". Then we will be full timing it. We currently have a truck camper but will be looking for a 5th wheel once the house sells. I don't think I can full time in t...
Hi guys, so I'm setting out on the first shakedown cruise this Saturday. Trying to get to a trainer in Missouri so I can sharpen my backing up ability. But, they are 500 miles away, so I need to travel half of that and camp the first night out someplace 'easy'. Unfortunately the north Mississippi stat...
We have a new, 2013 Montana 3582 with Lippert Auto Levelers. We've had it since April. After the 10day trip to bring it back home and a couple of days set up on our dusty road (using the levelers) I noticed the front leveler was coated with grease and dust (making it more noticeable). We took it out for a...

A recent arrival at a new campsite, after a very bumpy drive across I-40 had me cleaning out the inside of the fridge and wiping down every single item in the fridge. Why? Because something had tipped on its side while in transit and slowly leaked all over everything on the lower shelves. Since going...

We are two months into our three month adventure of traveling around Europe. We are traveling via train (not RV) but it has been interesting to see how they use their RV's here. There are almost no Class A motorhomes or Fifth wheels in use here. There are a zillion Class C & B motorhomes and quite a...
