Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Advice on fifth wheel roof concerns. We have a 2013 Keystone Montana with a rubber roof (TPO material?). Went up on the roof yesterday to clean it as we prepare for this summers camping trips and noticed some concerns, I would appreciate thoughts from the forum. 1). Running side to side across the t...
Well, we made it one year of full timing as of today. It's been an interesting ride so far. We've covered a bit of ground and have seen quite a few things which included the Educational Rally in Sevierville. If you have the chance, Howard and Linda do an exceptional job on that rally and it's worth a vis...
I just discovered J-B Weld WaterWeld Epoxy Putty, and it's something that should be in every RVer's toolbox for fixing water leaks. WaterWeld comes as a stick of putty-like material, with the two components separated. You cut off the amount you need, knead it well to mix the two components, and then p...
We've always had soft water and an on demand (endless hot water) system in our S&B house. I've got the water heater thing handled by installing a Truma AquaGo Comfort (LOVE it) ... as a side note on the Truma, it is very efficient with propane. I thought it would suck our propane tanks dry quickly....
Looks like we may catch up with you in Echo Basin on our way back to Louisville for a visit. Been looking at that campground and glad to hear you like it. In Phoenix now at a convention and plan to leave here on Sat. and go north through Co. Your journal said the chat room discussed mountain driving and we...
After being setup for 10 days with electric hook ups; this morning all of the sudden the 12 volt lights dimmed and stayed dim. I went out side and checked the 12v breaker, sure enough it had tripped. I reset it and then smelled sulfur. I opened up the battery compartment and one of the batteries looked...
Hey folks, We're planning our route out west for the first time ever! Yay! We're visiting family just north of Dallas, and the most direct route across Texas towards our final destination of Colorado for the summer looks to be Texas route 287 to Amarillo, then 87/64 to Raton New Mexico. Does anyone kno...
Hi my wife and I are thinking about living in a camping trailer in New England for a year at least and I'm wondering if anyone has ever installed a pellet stove in their camper ? If so how did it work out? Any feed back is welcome Thanks Mike & Nicole Doucet

If you own an android device. These are all amazing apps for testing RF signal and performance. Open Signal, Real Signal, Signal Check Pro, Network Info II , and Network Signal INFO . These downloads are all pretty well free. They will help you separate the pretender from the contenders
I am about to pull the trigger on the purchase of a new DP motorhome. It has full body paint and on the front, it has the Diamond Shield paint covering. When you wax it, is there anything special you need to do on the DS? Do you have to wax it at all or do you just pass over that part? What life expectancy can I g...
I recently received a letter from the IRS that they could not process my return until I either went online or called them and completed an identity verification process. We tried online first, but didn't have enough information on hand to answer all the questions (who we sold our first house to in 199...
Hey guys! Since we saw many of you at the rally in May, we have purchased our MH and we're getting ready to head out on the road! To help with finances I will be bringing my business with me! Since RV-Dreams has been such a big part of our RV education and planning I wanted to pass on a deal to anyone who mention...
Hi I'm Don. Most people call me crazy Don because I like to have fun go out dancing ride my motorcycle cruise around the country in my RV. The beach is my favorite spot. Most the time I spend in Galveston Texas on Crystal Beach. I have been single for many years, had a few girlfriends comma but looking to set...
It is Sunday... we are on the mountain. As our luck would have it our fridge is throwing an error code of L1 op. From what I can see this is a common problem with Norcold and... we would end up with one. LOL (coping). Any way of fixing this without going to the dealer since we are on the mountain, on a Sunday. TI...
Hello all. New to the forum and looking forward to learning all I can about RVing. Just purchased a 2017 Winnebago Minnie Winnie and completed my first 3200 mile trip to Washington, DC and back. I am retired U.S. Army "Sapper" and my wife is a Special Education Teacher. I am ready for full timing but...
In my continuing research of motorhomes (I've gone from big diesel pushers to shorter gas class-As to class-B+) I'm looking at shorter diesel class-As (under 36 feet, preferably 34 or less). I've run across a brand I've never heard of before. Has anyone heard of or have experience with Harney motor...
OK, so this trailering stuff is new to me and I have lots to learn. This morning after making my coffee and relaxing by the lake reading brochures about the area, I came back inside the trailer. Poured my second cup of coffee. Hmmm, the coffee is not very hot. Uh-oh, the light on the coffee maker is out...
We've had to use Coach-Net four times in the last 6 years and for the most part are happy with the service received. In fact last month we required a tow by a Heavy Hauler with a turn around time of almost 5 hours for the driver. We discovered that the new "Basic Towable Policy" we purchased wasn't equa...
My husband and I have decided to start our quest to purchase a travel trailer for year round camping. We live in Michigan, so we need something to withstand the cold. This will be our first RV purchase, so any help with any part of the buying process would be very much appreciated. But I really need a so...
Hello and greetings from Kansas! My wife and I are both online K-12 teachers and plan to be RVing full time in March 2017 and we will both be working out of our 2005 30' Airstream Safari. We are in the process of modifying this trailer to put in 2 office areas. We just have to take out a few things, re-do som...
So, my family and I (there are 6 of us!!) are contemplating on making a move out of Kansas City up to the Pierre, SD area for a new career path for me. However, housing is slim pickings and I can't fathom paying $1500/month in rent and having nothing to show for it at the end of the day. So right now, as I'm l...
DW and I have been officially full-timing since May when we sold our house. However, we've been on the road full time since right after Christmas 2015. We've been volunteering at national and state parks since retiring (early) in 2005. At the moment, we're spending a couple of months in an RV park near...
Hi all, My wife and I are new to fifth wheeling, and are getting ready to take our first week-long road trip in June. I am a recently retired Army officer and Texas peace officer, and my wife is a retired Army NCO and a soon-to-be retired elementary teacher (10 more days!). In November we purchased a 201...
I know we haven't even started our AK jobs yet - but wanted to get a head-start on asking if anyone knows of any place within an hour or two of Clearwater (west of Tampa), that hires workampers? My initial target area is Bradenton/Sarosota, but willing to consider other places. Ideally we'd like to be...
We all know that one of the disadvantages of a GAS Motor home is the engine noise level. A friend told me that he uses Mobile One full synthetic oil in his V10 engine and claims that it reduces the noise level of his engine. Has anyone had this same experience? I am curious if anyone is using Full synthet...
In our process of purging I have lost my Manual from The Spring Rally. I was looking for the Amish company Howard spoke of that replaced his components in his refrigerator. We are having issues with our Dometic. and its been the same thing three times now. If any of you all know it please pass it on to us a...
Hello all I am new here and my introduction is here LINK. We had a Class A and sold it about 5 years ago when the travels slowed due to scheduling. We were reviewing our travel budget for July 2016 and found that we had spent $1080 on cabins, yurt, hotel stays during our vacations last month. My wife would...
Does anybody have any personal knowledge about the Coachman Prism? Also, what are the pros and cons of pulling a car? I really don't want to pull a car. Thanks!
