Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Finding the time to purge again, NOT!

For 3 months now we have been in agreement that we need another purge of the RV.  However, between art shows for Dale, my corporate work from home job being  waaaaay busier than normal and mechanical issue, after mechanical  issue, rinse repeat, etc, we just haven't  gotten it done.

Today I just realized we have 10 days left before we leave the area where we have a storage room, and we haven't yet off loaded some items including our Sea Eagle that we have decided to leave behind this year, until we know we want to part with it for good.

Next week, after our last art show in the area, i have 2 follow up doctor appointments due to issues from the annual check ups and the realization that we are WaY behind schedule and not likely to catch up before our planned departure date for the next art show and suddenly feeling overwhelmed.    3 years of FT and I am wondering if I will ever learn to allow enough contingency planning in our schedule.

Someone please tell me this gets easier, maybe when we retire???  Trying to work FT while dealing with never ending mechanical issues is causing lots of frustration.  Or maybe we just need a different RV?.😂

If you retire it will get easier....but not much. In our case With retirement things slowed down but not by much. There will always be unexpected problems with the rv (but you have had way more than your share)....its the nature of bouncing your home down the road. With regards to a different rv, that's a very personal decision that only you can answer. We were in your place in 2011 with a 2007 Elite Suite that we ordered new. It seemed like every time we hooked up something else needed attention. In 2011 we had had enough and traded it off on something on a dealers lot......no investigation or price haggling. We likely left a lot of $ on the table but we were frustrated. While the new 5er has had problems too, we are way happier. Can't say that a different rv will make your life better but it seems to me that your experience has been worse than most. Good luck whatever you do and schedule some time to smell the roses along the way.

Boy this strikes a chord. We said we were going to purge in January and Quartzite and didn't actually do it until April. In order to get it done we had to really schedule it. Be in the right kind of parking spot, have the right kind of weather, and we couldn't be working that week for sure. We were under the gun because we knew we were getting weighed soon at the rally and wanted to purge prior to that. Anyways, I feel for you. Hate to take vacation days for something like this but you may have to to get it done. Took us about 5 days to get through everything and reorganize, because we looked at every single thing, but it is better now and reorganizing stuff so things we use the most often are placed on lower shelves has been awesome for me.
