Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I'm not trying to solicit or advertise a service or business here, but rather taking a market survey. Hi Folks, I often hear that Motor homes (we have a 38' class A - Safari Cheetah RV) are often used once or twice a year, and sit parked a fair amount of the rest of the year. Unless your full timing and always...
I made a one night reservation with the KOA in Lufkin, TX. Plans changed and we went to Shreveport, LA instead. I called them to cancel the reservation and they charged me a $10 cancellation fee. Don't know if this is common, but it seems pretty petty. I will "remember" the Lufkin KOA and share this s...
I would like to introduce my wife of 33 years (Sept 10th), Leigh, and myself Fred, to the forum. We have been following the travels and fulltiming lifestyle of Howard and Linda since they started back in 2005. I originally found them back in those days on Hitch Itch, and I have to say they have one of the...
Workamper News just announced they are going from four memberships/subscriptions down to two, and one of the two is FREE!The Workamper News Intro membership is free and it includes online access to the most current Workamper News Magazine of job listings and articles. Hello everyone! This is Cheryl posting. We have been thinking about going full time for a few years. Well Friday we made the decision and bought a 39 ft Voltage toy hauler 5th wheel. We traded in our 18 ft toy hauler. The toy is a 2 seater razor. Rob will pull it with his F350. We have lived in a travel trailer...
We have an Evergreen Everlight. We KNOW they they went out of business, but every time I go to an evergreen forum and ask about some round led lights for the front of the TT, they tell us they went under. I am trying to find some parts for this thing and need two of those small round lights on the front of the...
Me again. Also could not find any info on this brand. Opinions on getting two 2700 portable generators made by Powerhouse? Are these the Chinese made generator most of you have talked about staying away from?
I became aware of RentWizard last week through Workamper News. I sat in on an online presentation and then followed up with the founder, Ric Jarrett. After some research, and a long phone conversation with Ric, we took the leap and signed up to become a RentWizard Ambassador. We see it as having som...
Well, it's here. I guess I'll have to stop complaining when yous guys rub my nose in it. The truck, errrr, I mean motor home is basically done, the fiver is in front of the house and we are in the final stages of preparation. We will do a fully loaded weekend on Labor Day and test for the kick off of the "Kids Wi...
Being new to the lifestyle, as in we haven't even settled on a 5th wheel yet, I am not only wondering about the size of the towing unit, brand, etc but also what about the bed size. 6.5' or 8'? By the time you have a crew cab and an 8' bed, you sure have a "limo" for running errands and sight seeing. Thanks for yo...
We are looking to replace our mattress l Does anyone have any information on a tempflowrv 6000 mattress? It sounds good but it's also pricey. Would like an opinion either pro con.
This topic comes up frequently on most RV-related sites, so it probably makes sense to discuss it once in a while. I'm a retired teacher/librarian, so research is my thing. I also happen to lean towards engineering, and like math, so numbers play a big part for me. Some ancient trailer history. Many ye...
In comparing various fifth wheels, what weights are important for us to know besides dry weight, pin weight, hitch weight, gross weight and cc? Our plans are to buy our truck (dually) AFTER we buy our fifth wheel. However, we really DON'T want to purchase a semi to pull it, so I am guessing there...
Does anyone use a Ford Fiesta as a toad? We need to buy a new car and we want to make sure it will make a feasible toad when we go full-time next year. Thanks!!
Features include, AC, storage tote mounted on top, built in propane generator, microwave, side awning, 3 way fridge/freezer, stove/oven, thermostat controlled furnace, fantastic fan, bathroom/shower unit, power jacks, jack extensions for a dually and lots of storage. It is in great shape and...
I don't own a MH yet but just bought what may be my four-down flat tow toad when I retire in 3 or 4 years. Just curious about the potential damage caused to a toads paint/finish due to all the road debri, etc. I've seen shields that can be installed, etc., but from what I see most don't use them. I'd apprec...

Since Howard has shared his Oh S*** moments so we could learn from them, I thought that I would do the same. Recently, I made a relatively sharp right hand turn out of a parking lot that had a big dip along the edge of the road I was turning onto. As I made the turn I felt a LOT Of drag and I assumed I was draggin...
My wife and I are currently set on purchasing a 32' Redwood fifth wheel by Thor. We have never owned a RV and are wondering if this is the best choice for us. We will be retiring in 2017 and are going to be pulling it about 4 months a year with our Chevrolet Silverado 6.6 Turbo Diesel truck. We are...
I've read that, on duallys, the valve stems should be 180 degrees apart. On my brand new 2016 Ford F350 dually they are aligned with each other, came that way from the factory. Salesman said they did that to make it easier to check pressures ... almost like it was a "feature". 180 out make sense to me fr...
Well, I see that there are about 450 "Pending" members as of today (August 31, 2016). These are a combination of folks that never got a confirmation email, folks that ignored the confirmation email, folks that never contacted us to let us know they couldn't get activated, and spammers hoping they co...
I'm trying to make my summer 2017 volunteering plans in Oregon. Im not sure of road/weather conditions if we head for Arizona in October. Is that too late to head south? We will probably take 1-2 weeks to drive it. Thanks!
I have no bias here other than to say both of these trucks have more than enough power to haul our 5th wheels. Also note these trailers are loaded with a <20% tongue weight so don't even consider getting anywhere close to 30k lbs for a 5th wheel. As this forum continues to point out it is all about the r...
Hubby and I are going full-time in 2017 and we are thinking about where to spend our first winter. We thought we had it figured out - but now I am not so sure. We live in the Midwest, and thought it would be best to find an RV park in Florida for the months of December 2017, January and February 2018. That wa...

Hello, My husband and I are currently in the market for a Toy Hauler and are wondering what the best would be for our situation. We are planning on living in the Toy Hauler for approximately 3+ years. Major preferences include washer/dryer prep, generator (either prep or included), bedroom, bathroo...
I've never had stainless steel appliances in my S&B home. I now have a SS refrigerator/freezer, microwave/convection oven and sink. It seems that no matter how many times I clean them, they keep getting dirty. I've been using Windex that says it's good for SS with a microfiber cloth. It cle...
My husband and I are fifth wheel wannabes. We are trying to sell our home first. For the past year we have done so much research on fifth wheels and are leaning towards Grand Design....34-38 ft. The truck is what he is undecided about. He definitely wants a one-ton diesel and looking at Ford and Dodge. He...
