Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Funny how life gets in the way of plans. I made a few posts here a year or so ago, before life kicked us in the teeth. It's been long enough, I thought I'd reboot from the start, and go from there! My name is Kyle, and my Wife is Michele. We are in our mid forties, and currently live in central Wa. State. We have b...
Hey all. Wifey and I are looking to either lease or buy property/lot in an RV community here in Texas. Someone here, long time ago, posted a place where you can reside full time on a lot or your own property, designed for RVers to live full time. This is not your typical RV park for a two night stay..lol. You...
Can anyone advise as to what they do with their home filing cabinet contents - ie important documents that are not in electronic format. I have two fairly large drawers of documents. We plan to go electronic on bills, insurance statements, etc soon before we go FT, but unsure how to deal with these fi...
I am a solo RVer living full time in my RV with my 2 dogs. I'm loving the life. I have a 1983 Pace Arrow which seems to be in great condition. Life is an adventure and I like living it as it comes.
I sure appreciate all the helpful advice, suggestions and support I've gotten from you more seasoned RVers.
Earlier this year we purchased a 2016 Ram 3500 dually without an air suspension system. We are thinking about adding an aftermarket Firestone lift kit with compressor. Has anyone added an aftermarket system, and if so, what model - and what were the results? Any information would be greatly appre...
HI everyone getting ready to go. Still working on the better half who is only half ready. She is having issues with selling the snB. She is a home body who can not see herself away from home for any length of time. We both will be retiring in a few years after 38 and 44 years in our chosen professions. Just wan...
We have been workamping here at Huntington Beach State Park in Murrells Inlet, SC for the last 5 months. Our boss asked if we knew of anyone interested upcoming workamping positions. There are basically three types of positions available at the park: Maintenance (what we did), Atalaya Host (whi...
While looking at older posts regarding portable grills, it seems like the Weber Q grills are popular among forum members. My question is - can the grill run off the LP tank on our fifth wheel (we have an adaptor built into our rig) - or do we have to carry a free standing tank? Any information is appreciat...
I bought a 2017 KZ Durango Gold 381REF ... It came with two AC units. One in the bedroom and the the other in the main living area. The bedroom unit is on it's own thermostat and the main unit has a thermostat that controls the AC unit and the LP heating furnace. That main thermostat was an analog (slider...

Hi All, My husband, Richard, and I had a plan to go full time by now but as they say life happened. We are back to square one or two. We are looking at used class A in the $100,000 range, 32-40 feet long, with either a loft bed over the ****pit or bunkhouse as our 19 year son will be joining us several times a yea...
Is anybody going to the Hershey PA RV show this upcoming week? The DW and I are going on Thursday with our next door neighbors who are considering buying their first motorhome. This will be our first time in over 10 years we have attended. We're looking forward to seeing what is offered in the 2017's and s...
Sadly we will be putting our unit to bed for the winter next month for the first time. We have two Trojan T-105 6 volt batteries. We also have a 300 amp solar panels/system. Our plans are to store the trailer in upstate New York. The storage building has a roof and the two sides are covered with canvas....
Well it has come , my time to pull over and leave the road.........it was a great journey and now I have these memories to hold onto......my medical battles have gotten to the point of me feeling unsafe to continue driving this big toy around and it has gotten tougher for me to even move about physically....
Hi everybody, I'm Steve. I'm a gonnabe with the intent on it being sooner rather than later. I'm a single, 43 y.o. man who has had his eyes opened recently that there is a whole community of people who feel the same way as I do about the "American Dream". I have felt this way since I had my first co...
We're currently in the planning stages of changing our lives to full time RVing (looking at 2 years to go); but decided to start blogging about the preparations/headaches/concerns during this time. Feel free to follow us on this journey at: http://www.wanderingwith.us
Just had a combo w/d installed, I'm giddy to use it but I only have the tablets. I know in my front loader at my old house I used them by placing them in the drum with the clothes. I can't seem to find any info on yea or nae. TIA
Has anybody ever had service or know someone who has at the Spartan chasis factory in Charlotte MI ? We will be taking our coach to Elkhart in the next few weeks for some renovation work and I'm seriously considering trying to get an appoitment for their 44 point inspection of the chasis on the way out. Is...
Now that we are no longer fulltimers, and have a coffee table in our livingroom, I would like to print out a copy of my blog, into a book- not just a PDF, but a real book- has anyone done that and have suggestions on a company (website, software etc) to use for it? Thanks! Sue
Hi All,We are looking into relatively heavy fifth wheel trailers, most likely GVWR of 19,500 or 24,000 pounds. I keep going back and forth between the Ram 3500HD and the 5500. Both are "capable" of towing either vehicle, but the 5500 offers a significantly higher margin of safety for my family (ver...
Here are my predictions for what the Big 3 are going to do for 2017 model years. Chevy/GMC 3500 2016 was GM's year to shine and generally speaking their towing numbers are a lot more realistic than Ford or RAM. Engine Power = No Change Towing #'s = No Change RAM 3500 RAM 3500 had a recent H/O bump in the eng...
Hi. We are going RV part time or possibly full time in a couple years in retirement. I've bought a good strong F350 diesel and will be getting a new 5th wheel when it's paid off. We have a Great Pyrenees which is a long haired giant breed who weights around 125lbs. She's very sweet and good around people bu...

Looking to hold up somewhere in the southwest for a couple of months during the winter. We are just getting started FT'ing. We are in Colorado now, but don't want to get caught in icy conditions on the road. Does anyone know where there is a nice campground with reasonable monthly rates. We can head...
So my husband and I have put our exit plan together and have our timeline to hit the road. Unfortunately it is 2 years out; I'm one of those instantaneous folks - hubby is the planner, researcher, planner, researcher, etc. Fortunately he keeps me grounded! We've determined the fifth wheel is our RV o...
I bought the most capable SRW truck I could because I wanted to be able to go thru car washes. That has worked out fine ... but I may have to go DRW someday. Will I then be forced to hand wash my truck, which I really don't want to do. So what do you DRW guys do?
Happy Labor Day, and happy anniversary to us. Three years on the road is now in the books. Bring on year 4! Thanks to Howard & Linda and RV Dreams family for fueling the fire so long ago. Web page & blog has the year 3 recap. Life is Good!
Just sold everything a few weeks ago and went full time and headed to Florida. We are close to Crestview hopefully east of the tropical storm, HAHa. What a way to start. My name is Robert and my bride of 34 yrs name is Sheena. We have camped for over 30 years with the kids. Now they are gone and we decided awhi...
Originally we were going with a CareFree SunShade for our awning. I liked that the top one foot stayed in the roll tube and then you zipped the shade to it on setup. The problem is our awning is just over 14 ft and the CareFree 15 ft is too large and the next size is too small at 10 ft. So I started thinking, n...
Awkward topic here. We're about to become full time RVers in a modest (small to most RVers) Class C. I'm starting to feel anxious about using the RV toilet and carrying waste in the tank. There's not a lot of space or privacy either. When we had a tiny Casita and snowbirded, I always used the campground wa...
