Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I checked my finances and decided to look into volunteering a bit. After years on the road, I'm well aware the solos are at a big disadvantage in traditional work camping. Do any solos have experience as volunteers? I looked at some of the "faith connected/based" deals that say they need folks with c...
We have never owned an RV. I had a slide in camper back in the day, but we are looking at a pull behind or possibly a 5th Wheel. Current and new vehicle is a Toyota Tundra with trailer tow package, extended range fuel tank, TRD sway bar installed with a class IV receiver hitch. We have been exploring the opti...

We have a 40 ft. Bluebird and we are looking for the best toad for our situation. We have two large dogs so we need something that will accommodate them. We want something that can be flat towed. I currently have a 2015 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon that I just don't like. Anybody out there have a suggestion?
We are planning our Full Time adventure in 18 months or a little sooner. We are signed up for the rally next Spring 2017 in TN. We have a 150 dollar gift card at Sears and want to spend it wisely for something we will need on our 5th wheel or truck. Any help is greatly appreciated and thank you in advance. Bru...
Not sure if there are very many New Horizons owners here that don't already know about the New Horizons Owners Group (NHOG) rally scheduled for Sep 2017 in Spearfish SD. It will be held from Sep 21-25 and the rally masters are Gary and June Wall. NHOG rallies are pretty much like most RV rallies…there ar...
We have been snooping around this site for some time now and it got to be time to get involved. We honestly don't know what our status is. We are looking at getting an RV and something to pull it with. We intend to get serious about this endeavor after spring of 2017. We have a "once-in-a-lifetime" trip sc...
I got through my first voyage with my travel trailer, had a blast. Anybody else take a new rig out this summer? Or had any interesting adventures or mishaps? I don't know if it's because I was jazzed up, or surrounded by Midwesterners, or what, but I was surprised to find myself approaching stra...
We are leaving Dolores, Colorado and heading to Orderville/Zion National Park area. Is scenic route 12 doable for a 40' fifth wheel. Otherwise we will have to drop down into Arizona for much of the trip. We were looking at taking 160 out of Cortex, taking 41 to 162, to 163, ging north on 261 to 95 to Hank...
August 25th is the centennial birthday of our National Parks system, and we are going to take that day off and visit Nabesco road in Wrangell-St. Elias to celebrate. I wondered if anyone else was planning to be in a park to commemorate the day? Personally I love the National Parks system and am feeli...
We have a DRV MS with 1 water inlet that feeds a 4 way valve to add city water to tank, run off city water, pump water from tank, or add sanitizer to the lines. It seems like the only option for adding water when boon docking is to buy a potable pump to pump from a 5 gallon jug? Does this make sense, and if you have...
I consider Heartland Prowler 22lx to best choice for me for $14,450. VIR test from dealer shows it is in good state. Do you think it is worth buying? It is here -- Edited by terrygreg on Tuesday 27th of September 2016 03:55:29 AM
Howard, Your writing style leads me to believe you are actually trying to provide a forum for intelligent discussion. That, I appreciate. Since I am learning about the whole field of RVing I am going to shows and asking a lot of questions. I would like to use the forum as a means of "fact checking" some...
Hi all, I'm completely new to RVing, and haven't bought a camper yet, bc I want to examine all my choices first. Some of the campers available have options to hook up to solar panels, which makes boondocking more appealing. The thing I can't figure out is, well the toilet, and disposing of waste. Most...
I am looking for some advice on expenses concerning the general upkeep on Class A,s versus a Fifth wheel and truck. How much more would it be to maintain a Class A?
Got a phone call last friday from the dealership and yes...... my custom made motorcycle trailer will arrive sept 19th, we will leave our campground on the 27th to go and pick it up a 3 hours drive, I'm anxious to see it. Beside this fact my wife has only 5 days of work she will be officially retired sept 16...
We are looking at replacing our Coleman Mach 13,500 with a new unit since it's just not doing the job anymore. I have 3 questions:1. We're Gate Guarding in So. TX and will be heading to San Antonio when the job is done. Can anyone recommend a reliable repair person/business in SA who could do the repla...

We have cancelled our order with Augusta and have switched to a Vilano F/W. Solar man is coming and we will increase our solar and battery bank for our commercial refrigerator. Hope to have it tomorrow if I get all my solar removed from our Cougar.
Hello from Saskatchewan! We are a mid-forties couple who have taken the plunge from dreaming into action. It was probably a year ago my husband threw out the curveball during a wine-fuelled conversation that he imagined selling it all and living on the road. A year later, we have taken that fleeting t...
Help! I am new to living in a rig, a 1999 National Dolphin, and I am loving it! However, I am having issues on filling my water tank. I have filled it 4 or 5 times now, and two of those times the water drained out of the air escape hoses and drained all the water I just put into it. I called Camping World, but th...
My wife & I are looking to sale ($3,000) or trade our "premier" membership to Midwest Outdoor Resorts which has four resorts. This membership retails for around $8500 -$11,000 (depending on the promotion they have going at the time) so you are getting a great deal. It includes access to their R...
I would really like some help with something that is driving me absolutely crazy. It's essentially two related questions. I use an after market TPMS for the tires on my truck and my 5er. I want to set the alarm thresholds on the TPMS for low and high pressure for all the tires, and I know what the cold press...
Hello All,We are preparing and planning for our extended trip out west starting in April 2017. My current research takes me into looking at generators. We have been looking at the Yamaha and Honda's but yesterday I came across one offered at Costco. It's a Champion Duel-Fuel 3100 Watt, quiet run (58 d...
Trying to decide on a trailer model. Here's a choice that has come up. Some of the narrow/small/light units have one slide that a u-shaped dinette rides on. I like the idea of this, having some actual floor space rather than a train-car type of floorplan. But I hate the idea of a big fixed-t...
I am replacing the entire floor covering in my 5th wheel. Would it be best to remove the cabinets etc. and restore it as from the factory? -- Edited by UN-TIED on Thursday 11th of June 2015 04:55:42 PM
I've been bothered with pain in my neck, shoulder, arm and right leg for the last 9 months. I'm thinking it may have started when I pulled my shoulder reaching the socket under the kitchen table. Between work and stress of work it's only gotten worse, but I'm wondering if it could be the mattress t...
