Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hi I'm Dale, I am new to this forum, and I think it's great that they offer you a spot to post your blog links, thanks guys! My blog is located at http://www.travelfables.com . Feel free to stop by and check it out sometime. -- happy adventures, Dale
Hi, We're new to the site, so this will be our "first-time caller" vs. long time listener message. We plan to begin full-time RVing in 18 months and will purchase the Datastorm internet technology. My question is related to a router. I'm about to replace my desktop workstation with a...
Found a new use for my Dremel Tool with a sanding barrel tool attached. I took my dad to the podiatrist to have his toe nails worked on. The toe nails on my dad's big toes have some sort of problem where they get really thick and due to neglect have begun to grow up instead of out. One toe nail was about a half...
One goal is to work at a golf course and an RV park in these two places. Has anyone done that who could give us some ideas how to do that in Myrtle Beach and Walt Disney World? Thanks
Thought I would share this photo I took this morning while I was getting diesel. All that I know is that the pin box broke away from the frame. I would consider this a real bad day or maybe a nightmare if it was me. I hope this never happens to anyone but things do happen. I wish for everyone to always have a saf...
Having been reading all I can on this and other websites (with this being the best) I really see the logic behind a 5th wheel or trailor in the case of maintenance and repairs on the power train of one's RV set up. I am still researching my solo RV options and the Brunswick Georgia project is getting more so...
It may come to nothing, but a young man who walked through our house last Sunday during "Open House" is coming back today to go through again. Last Sunday he said his job was relocating him here to Oklahoma and he needs to make an offer on a home by Friday and be moved in by December 1. Anyway, si...
Just read Chuck Woodburys article on Country Coachs new slideout deck just what we all need right?? Its in the RVtravel.com issue for this month. southwestjudy
This morning we are 290 miles into our trip to Florida for the winter and I'm happy to see the fuel prices comming down. Today we have a short 180 mile drive to Thousand Trails Chesapeake Bay Preserve for a 2 week stay and then on to SC for another week. We plan to be in Florida by mid November until who knows w...
My wife and I along with our 4 kids and 3 dogs started RVing 1 year ago and have not desired to get back into a "stick home" again. Discovery's TLC channel joined us on our trip and started filming to show America what it is like to fulltime RV with 4 kids. Our show will air on TLC the 29th of October...
Hi my name is Vernon Loud. I full time RV with my wife, 4 kids, 3 dogs and 1 hamster. Discovery's TLC channel has been filming us traveling full-time across America for the last year. Our series titled SIX FOR THE ROAD starts the 29th of October 2008 at 10/9c. We want this to be a big success so the non-RVing...
When you travel as a fulltimer, do you spend a lot on "admissions" to various events, historic sites, etc.? I don't mean the usual toursit traps but those places of genuine interest?
I have a King Dome Sat Dome on my motor home. When I purchased the MH new off the dealer's lot, it had the stationary dome which I had upgraded to In-Motion. The thing has worked very well all over the country until a couple of weeks ago where it would lose the signal when I went down an off ramp or made a circ...
We're new to RV Dreams and looking forward to enjoying all it has to offer. 5 years ago we purchased a VW Campervan in Holland and camped our way through 29 countries in 24 months. Getting back in April 06 we picked up our MH and have started our FT'ing in the "America's". We have had the oppo...

Hey guys, please forgive a dumb question. On a truck with anti-lock braking system on 4 wheels, is the inside or outside wheel of duals the one that has the brakes? Or do all four rear wheels have brakes but the ABS only apply to two, or does the front have anything to do with it and the ABS apply to the rear...
NEW STOCK MARKET TERMS CEO --Chief Embezzlement Officer. CFO -- Corporate Fraud Officer. BULL MARKET -- A random market movement causing an investor to mistake himself for a financial genius. Since my wife, Jo, and I have fairly recently begun looking at motorhomes instead of fivers now, I have a question regarding Fred Wishnie's comment on the news article about RV sales being down. (That comment of his was on the thread entitled something like "Teton RV is Closeing".) I saw t...
I found a wonderfully well maintained 21 foot 5th wheel (I'm single so its lots of room) with a dry weight of 3800 pounds. Can my Ford F150 302 V8 with auto (overdrive) tranny pull this with no issues please? Thanks in advance. David
I've searched this subject and can't find anything. I'm curious to know if anybody out there has a rear bath floorplan and what their thoughts are about it. Thanks!

The wife and I, future full-timers, have decided on our 5er and tow vehicle. When buying cars, I know how to get the best price possible and make a salesperson cry. But, how do we do that with an RV salesperson? How can I get the "sticker" price or some kind of MSRP so that I can figu...
Hi all. Thank you for such a wonderful forum folks! I'm David and am seriuosly considering the fulltimer lifestyle. I work as a contractor back to a leading telecom company working on software installions from my home and use DSL for everything. As all my work is done remotely I am studying up on the pos...
Thought I would put a plug in for a product that has given us good service. We finally needed new tires on our Ford F 350 after 65,000+ miles, culminating with our trip to Alaska.
We stayed with the same brand and model that the truck came with, because in that 65K we only had one flat and NEVER once had to a...
Just received this link to an interesting article on maintenance that most of us may not be doing.

Funny, we just had an axle alignment because our wheels had different spacing as they describe in the article, and when they got under the coach they disc...
Over the weekend I was visiting with an RV dealer and we were talking about the current financial situation. He indicated he had five sales get canceled because of financing, he said he could probably go another two years and then he'd have to close. He also mentioned, and this is the question of this po...
In my research the past 2 days I have run across two 1997 Holiday Rambler Aluma-lite Custom 5th wheels. One is from a dealer and is 34'; one is from an individual and is 29' ($2k diff. in asking price). Both seem to be priced below the average for a 12 yr old model as listed in the RV Consumer ratings. The pi...
Just discovered that a medicine my dad takes really works. He was prescribed Metanx to correct low Folic Acid. One pill a day. Last week due to a mix up between the pharmacy and his Dr. we ran out of Metanx. I noticed he was begginning to get run down, no energy, having trouble with balance and was c...
