Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am totally dejected this morning after receiving and reviewing the RV Consumers Group report on every 5ver I have been interested in and can afford. None are rated for fulltiming. Some that seem to fit my needs and budget are FR Cedar Creek, FR Cardinal LE, and Carriage Cameo, among others. I'm lo...
I have had my internet connection with Charter Cable for several years, and use Outlook Express for my email. When I sell my house and start fulltiming, I will need to find another email address, and would really prefer one that uses Outlook Express. I have obtained an address on myRVspace.com - gyp...
So here is the question I have been trying to figure out. I am putting it out here to see what thoughts you all have. I currently live in a very high sales tax state. For various reasons I can not move entirely out of state, so income tax is a non-issue for now. I am planning on buying a RV and will likely be s...
We are very excited about attending our first Gypsy Journal Rally. There have been two held in AZ the past couple of winters and this will be the first eastern one. We enjoy Nick Russell's journal and just know this will be a good time. Anyone else going?
We just experienced our first Corp of Engineers campground....and we did buy the $80 National pass, so our fees were only $8 for this really nice campground and even included electric. My dh asked me where I knew to ask about this discount.....and I had to tell him from "Howard and Linda's"...
Anyone have any experience with the Grand Junction Fifth Wheels? Can anyone tell us more about them -- good or bad? We found them at the Hershey Show this week. They appear to be near the quality of the Cameos, but they only carry a one year warranty. They tend to run maybe $5K less than Cameos for compa...

Since almost day one of our 35 year marriage, we have parked our RV's along the coast at Rincon Parkway in Ventura County, CA. Imagine parking your RV on a 15 foot high bluff overlooking the blue Pacific Ocean. The waves caress a sandy beach not more than 30 feet away from the door of your RV. Off in t...
I'm packing the contents of my house for storage and to take in an RV, and wonder about things such as cleaning products. Do special kinds have to be used in an RV, or the same as what you would buy for a house. What about toilet bowl cleaners (just bought a new bottle & hate to throw it out). Also do yo...
We are planning on visiting Rapid City for a week in May. If you've stayed there, what's your favorite park? How about the least expensive that includes elec/water? Just looking for suggestions.

Has anyone else had a difficult time accessing the Escapees' forum for the past few days? I received a message to set up a new password on Friday but haven't been able to access the forum since. www.escapees.com doesn't seem to work either. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
We are moving on from Durango to Mesa Verde this week because our week of rent is due and we can move on Tuesday or Wednesday. We noticed that others move on for various reasons. Why do you move on and when do you prefer to do it? Just thought the variety of responses may be interesting. Larry and Jacki

For those of you who want to be able to use the kinds of software products found in Microsoft Office, but not enough to shell out major bucks to get it, or you're not running a Windows machine, or your just a rebel, there is good news. There is an organization called OpenOffice.org (OO.o) that has been dev...
Hi, my wife and I will be going full-time in our motorhome this Fall. Have several winters as snowbirds so haven't had to be real concerned about mail. We have finally gotten rid of the house and 40+ years of "STUFF" and hitting the road this Fall. I would be interested in more suggestions...
Good Day Everyone! We started out yesterday from Pittsburgh PA. Getting the MH out of the driveway was the most challenging part of our trip so far. We are moving on down the road as I type this. We stayed at our first RV park last night. We were so silly, we had never hooked up the water, sewer. power etc......
Today I decided to drive my MDT to the office and take a couple of co-workers to lunch. While stopped at a light I looked back in my mirror and saw a guy on a motorcycle about 3 cars back, looking at me and shaking his head. I looked back a second time and he was still shaking his head at me. When the signal tu...
The park we are setup in offers Wi-Fi service but the signals were barely received by our Wi-Fi equipped laptop. The access to the internet was spotty unless we turned the laptop just the right way.... So I went to Best Buy and purchased a Hawking Technologies USB boost antenna. Here are the details r...
I'll confess, I've been a lurker here for about a year, I found it while lookin' for recipes, most of which are very good and simple. My wife Suzanne and I Hope to be fulltiming in the next 1-2yrs, depending on family issues, aging parents, needy (but grown) kids and now 2 grandboys. We have owned 5 motorh...

Is anyone familiar with the K-Z Fifth Wheel Products? How do they compare with the Carriage Cameos? We're going to Hershey next week -- any other recommended fifth wheel products?
I heard that someone has created a templete for the plexiglass to go over the screen door on a fifth wheel and its on their blog. Has anyone seen it or know the URL? TIA.
Hello everyone! For the past two years I have attended the great American race in Daytona beach, Fl. I have a reserved infield RV spot in the west horseshoe (in the middle of turns one and two). I currently live in NC and would like to remain a resident of that state for tax purposes, driver's license, etc. I have looked at their online website, checked the numbers in the phone book, and can't seem to find anything that relates to being a resident of the state. How in the world does everyone hav...
I'm looking for "experienced" information on weather for the Texas Hill country for the months of Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Al
There has been a lot of talk about safety in RV parks and while boondocking so I just thought I would share some ideas with all my Dreamer friends out there. If you see somthing we can add to this list feel free to add it.... Speedy 1. Go to a second-hand store and buy a pair of men's used size 14-16 work boots....
We will be traveling through the Scranton, PA area on I-81/I-84 and are looking for a nice quiet little campground that can accomodate our 38' fifthwheel with three slideouts for an overnight stay. Any RV-Dreamers in the area? If so, we'd enjoy meeting you.
