Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I have Mission tires on my 5er. On the Heartland owners forum, lots of owners talk about problems with them. Was wondering if any of you have any experience with them and any suggestions. My trailer is new, bought about 7 weeks ago. Thanks
Hi! We purchased our new TT a year ago, but did not like the furniture (2 chairs & 1 sleeper sofa) and they were all very uncomfortable. So when we purchased the rig, we negotiated a bit lower of a price if they'd remove the furniture. Then we went shopping, and the best place we found "non-RV&...
We have had our pets for years. When we decided to fulltime, we knew the pups would be part of it too. We have four minitaure dachsies and an English Bulldog with us! Ya know, it sounds crazy, but they are part of the family. They would go camping and traveling with us before, so it's no big deal. Also, when...
Hi Everyone, I joined a Yahoo forum about Rv Boondocking and came across this nice website posted there http://www.eugenecarsey.com/camp/default.htm There are some beautiful pictures but not much information about camping with rvs. Being that we will be new to rving and love the idea of not be...
Hi everybody, Not everyone has a blog. so instead of waiting for one person to ask about a certain area. Please If there are some great campgrounds that you have stayed in. Tell us about it, I would love to read where to stay in every corner of the States. Mention as many Parks as you want . Just please do no...
Hi everyone, I have spent the past few months reading through all of Howard and Linda's journal entries. It has been great the follow them and learn along the way as they have. I really appreciate them sharing so much of their life with us. It has reaffirmed my dream to hit the road myself. I am still a ways...
We are moving forward toward our full-timing dream, and have created a blog to keep track of our progress. Check it out and tell us what you think! http://roamingfree2010.blogspot.com/
Howard, reference your comment on Quartzite, my wife reminded me of what I said the first time about 1982. " Well, that is twice for me, the first and last" How wrong I was, at least 10 visits in the next 20 years. You may have to kick me off this site because after 25 years we had to return to ful...
I was on the escapees forum yesterday and saw a post where one of the escapees fulltimers had posted his resume on the Craiglist for the area he was in and was contacted with 4 job offers. He posted in the "resumes" section and listed what he was looking for in the way of a temporary job along wi...
I wonder if anyone could provide some travel insights, experience, tips, where you camped, route followed, etc. We are looking to travel north this summer from Charleston, SC through North Carolina into Virginia. I have always been wanted to see Cape Hatteras Lighthouse. We have a 40ft. motorh...
We are going to the Bristol race in March, just about all of the campgrounds I have called want $450-$550 for 6 nights, some require a 7 day minimum. I would like to know if any of you have stayed at Warrior's Path State Park in Kingsport. Any info would be helpfull. Stay Safe
Has anyone from the RV-Dreams purchased their fifth wheels or RVs from ebay and if so how did the situation turn out? Would anyone else consider buying their fifth wheel or RV from eBay? We've been watching eBay like a hawk looking for ideas on what we want, what we could get for the money and for a good d...
I have 3 cats and 2 house rabbits that we are definitely taking with us when we finally realize the dream :) Now, I have traveled with cats before, anyone travel wit hrabbits? I would build them some sort of set-up in the RV and then they would hav free reign of the rig when we are parked. I'm just wondering i...
It has always been a secret dream of mine to travel in an RV the beautiful sites and destinations America has to offer. However, money always seemed to be an obstical as did my significant other (at the time). Now that one of those problems are not any longer, I have a new sence of freedom and thought, why n...
Howard, I would like to recommend a traditional rally for 2009...as opposed to an instructional rally. RV-Dreams followers and lurkers could meet and socialize. Maybe a boondocking location?! Something to consider.....among all the other considerations. Gerard
We have been asked if we were going to rent a Class A before we made a commitment to become full timers. We briefly checked into it, but we decided not to. Did you rent a Class A first? How long? Was it worth it? Did it change your mind about full timing? Randy www.warnerrvnews.blogspot.com
Where can we find out about a specific dealerships service dept. reputation? We're concerned that the really friendly sales person may not be available when we need service and would like to check the two dealerships that have almost the same price on our trailer choice. Also, one is a big chain (Cam...
Some friends of ours, that only get to 'vacation' travel, plan to go to the San Antonio area in July. Can anyone recommend a good, convenient, reasonably priced, campground in the area. They are a couple with 2 kids, girl 12 and boy 10, so suggestions of activities would be helpful too. thanks
Are we nuts?! My husband and I are buying our new rig tomorrow (36' Class A) and will be heading out on March 1st. We're both in our 50's, 3 grown kids, 2 grandkids. Hubby will be keeping his job, working out of the rv. We'll be hopping around SoCal, beach to beach, until summer, and then we'll have to fi...
Are there road maps that indicate the grade of roads or maybe short overpasses or weight limit bridges? I would hate to get on some back road that would be an excuse to take up foul language. Abase
I guess I travel with my head in the sand... I've had our coach for 16 months and have traveled about 15,000 miles and just found out that I should be changing the Anti Freeze (Engine Coolant Fluids) in that same period. Is this something that is on "your" maintenance schedule?
Does anyone know: Which State registers vehicles by internet & accepts P O Bx addresses? Many people living on the road in their Recreation Vehicles Register in this state because they have no physical address as they travel and because they are not required to appear in person to initially reg...
http://www.sixwordstories.net Ran across the website above and thought it was a good way to waste a half hour or so each day. Here's my latest six word story..... RV-Dreams.com, paradise on the net.
Don my DH had his 60th birthday yesterday. His cake was a large pan of brownies which is his favorite. Even though he had to work today, he had a good day. No school because of snow & very low temp. He is still planning on retiring the end of June. So we hope to see some of you on the road. Lois
Some where back, I heard that you can't rely on the engine air conditioning system to cool enough to make any difference in the temperature of the coach...any truth to it? or, do you have to run the generator while on the road to run the roof air? If the engine air is to work ok, has any one re-charged thei...
Mint condition, 2007 40' Teton Cheyenne, 4 slides, triple axle, lots of options. Beautiful rig, full body paint, perfect full timers setup. Want to go back to a Class A MH since we no longer full time. Can send pix and details. Included is the perfect tow vehicle! 2007 M2 Freightliner ,low mil...
Pam and I are looking to go Full Time in the June time frame. In the meantime we have been looking at new and used RVs. One were were intested in (2007 Tiffin Phaeton) showed up on Oodle.com. I followed through and got a return email from the seller. The long and short of it was, over the course of about 17 d...
I would like to find a sample page for keeping track of RVing expenses. There are books you can buy, but I don't want to spend $25 or more for a book of 80 or so pages. I know it sounds heretical in this world of hi tech solutions, but it never made sense to me to have to turn on the computer, call up a spreadshe...
I need to take my 2004 Hitchhiker II for maintenance. There are a few items I know that need service, but I just want to be confident that everything works as it should, is lubricated & ready for use. The 5ver has been rarely used and sat in storage for a couple of years, so I don't really know how to as...
