Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I joined a Yahoo forum about Rv Boondocking and came across this nice website posted there
http://www.eugenecarsey.com/camp/default.htm
There are some beautiful pictures but not much information about camping with rvs. Being that we will be new to rving and love the idea of not being cramped in rv parks all the time this website has a lot of BLM photos and information. We plan on doing everything to set ourselves up to boondock as long as possible.
So my question here is for those fulltime rvers that do boondock and if they have ever been to any of these remote places. What are the pros and cons and any other information you could tell us about traveling in these areas to boondock with a 35 + foot nice fifth wheel.
In general, out West you can get into lots of places with a trailer that size. We ALWAYS check it out first in the Jeep. ALWAYS - unless we have been there before - and even then we usually check current conditions. Just watch dragging the rear in the gullies and you can get into most places.
There is info on my website about boondocking.

That would be my biggest fear is dragging part of my wifes dream trailer off in some ditch. I would have to walk home and on one leg to boot. I would love to give it a try but that would be my concern. I guess I will have to call Jack and find out how it is???
Right now a bunch of us on this forum are camped in BLM land around Quartzsite, AZ, including Howard and Linda. If you want to be alone there are those who will seek you out and camp right next to you. A friend of a friend hated that and would go up and tell the people, "I just got out of prison and I want to be alone." That normally got people to leave.
