Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Since we are still researching what it is we want to get for full time rving in the future, we were talking with an RV saleslady. As part of the discussion of Fifth Wheel or Motorhome, she brought up a point that I hadn't given any thought to. She mentioned that if one hears a disturbance outside one's RV,...

I have found a workamping job for the summer at Lassen Volcanic National Park in northern CA. I will be at a remote campground in the NE part of the park. I have made a list of questions to ask the Administrator, including the internet and cell phone service. I will be using an aircard so I'm thinking if...
Do any of you carry pepper spray or a big walking stick when you walk your dog(s). After reading a recent Nick Russell blog I am concerned that we might occasionally encounter a dog that is overly aggressive. If you do carry pepper spray, I'd appreciate knowing the brand and where to buy it. Thank youl...
Hi Everyone, Allow me to introduce my wife and myself, Lee & Tom. We have been RVing since 1989 and have had 3 Winnebago motorhomes. Our first one was a 1987 24' Minnie Winnie on a Ford which we bought used and thoroughly enjoyed it. From that one we went to a 1996 31' Minnie Winnie on a Ford which had a...

Hey Team: The DW and I will be going to the annual RV show in Cleveland next Saturday, featuring 15 dealers from across the upper chunk of Ohio, maybe some Michigan or Pennsylvania. They claim that there will be over 800 units on display. Anyone need any particular information that I can chase down?...
I have been using wi fi at campgrounds since leaving NY (I'm now in CA). I had to pay for it three different nights, and there was only one night out of 18 where it wasn't available. I thought I would get an air card along with the necessary router & other accessories once I got settled into a routine a...
My husband and I may possibly be getting a 1948 Chevy 1 Ton flatbed truck and converting it to a diesel. The truck's frame is in perfect condition and we think it might even run (we'll find that out soon) but of course it will still need some restoration. Currently this truck has a two speed rear axel...
What a great website! Thanks to all you folks who post such valuable information for us wannabe's. We are planning to go to the Tampa RV Show next week wanting to create a 'short list' of 5vers. Because of limited funding, we will probably buy used but thought that this show would be helpful to narrow do...
We are thinking about a used 42' Phaeton. I realize it may not fit into some campgrounds, has a little bit less storage than a 40' because of the tag axle. But like any other home I have heard, 'get as much of a house as you can afford'... Any other pros and cons I should be thinking about? Thanks Randy
We are Craig and Linda, currently looking for our fifth wheel. Craig was able to retire this past August. We put our 3100 sq. ft. house on the market in July and were blessed to close in December at a price within $1000 of what we hoped to gain. Our RV dream has been fairly recent as we never allowed ourse...
Has anyone heard anything about problems insuring US purchased RV's in Canada? We were told by a dealer .... who I must say wasn't trying to sell us anything.... that there may be a problem because of CSA Standards and that regulations might be changing in the near future so that units not CSA approve...

We have a 5th wheel toyhauler and tow with a F 550. We are considering purchasing a Pressure Pro tire monitoring system and was wondering if anyone had one for their 5er. We were recently at the RV show here in Tampa and spoke with several dealers. Of course they all want to sell their systems, but wanted...

We are thinking of going to the Tacoma RV Show and Sale this weekend. Has anyone been to this show before? It's a bit of a trip from here, and a bit expensive when you factor in ferry fares and hotels. I am wondering if it is worth the trip or will it be a disappointment?
As future fulltimers and current weekenders, we've created two blogs that reflect both sides of our lives. The Great RV Escape chronicles our preparations for our fulltiming adventure. Since knowledge of our fulltiming plans are limited to family, a few friends, and fellow future and current f...
