Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Looks great! I wish we had known about this life style when our kids were younger...what a great thing to do together. We are pulling out in 3 weeks!!! but it will just be my husband and I as the kids are all grown up and on their own (sort of )
I'll enjoy your blog and if can be of any help since we just finished (or almost finished) all the preps, let me know.

Nice blog.

I like it.  Was it difficult to learn how to use it?  What fees are involved?

thank you.

Netters, Loralie and foxriverguy -

Thanks for checking out our blog.  It's a work-in-progress, but it's fun!  We are very excited to get going, and making lots of new RV friends!

foxriverguy - It really is easy.  You can start out really basic (mine is right now), and then add features and fun stuff as you get more comfortable.  All you need to get started is a gmail account, and as Netters said, it's totally free. smilesmile

Thanks for sharing your blog! It is so much fun to follow others' adventures, especially when the family is so much different than your own. We are a retired couple in the our 50s, so following families who full-time is fun. Good luck with the sale of the house and I look forward to seeing you down the road.

How did you convice your kids to go fulltiming?  My son does not want to leave his friends.  Since he is an only child, he doesn't want to be stuck with us oldies either. biggrin Are you homeschooling yourself or are you using an internet school?

Readytogo-

Actually, our kids did not need to be convinced - they are ready to go!  They love life on the road, and are looking forward to travelling.  They know we'll be back in Michigan often, so they'll get to see their old friends, and they are very out-going and will make new friends easily.  And when there aren't other kids around, they have each other at least.

As for homeschooling, I'm still researching and thinking about which methods will work best for us.  The online schools are appealing to me from the aspect of not having a load of books to carry around with us, plus interactive learning seems to work better with our boys.  We just bought a couple of laptops (great deal at Wally World!), and we're probably going to go with the aircard for internet on the road.

Good Luck to you in your quest to hit the road - maybe we'll cross paths sometime!

The blog looks great. Denny and I really enjoyed Nicholas guitar at the RV Dreams rally last June. It is nice to see your plans are moving ahead.

We will be on the road by fall. We understand your enthusiasm and impatience. Have you chosen your rig or are you planning to use the unit you had in Branson?

Good luck. I know these will truly be the best years of your lives and what an education for your boys.

Hey ALL,

We are glad you guys are keeping forward motion on your plans...We are trying to organize, consolidate and liquidate as much as possible. smile

We are looking to replace our Class C Motorhome with a 5TH Wheel Toyhauler and will be visiting many factories this spring near Elkhart, In..  Anybody going to be near there this spring?  We will be there Easter week this year.  Let us know if you will be anywhere nearby.

We are looking at 40 ft toyhaulers...ie.  Excel,  Heartland,  forest river,    K-Z,  and SunnyBrook.  Any others you guys recommend???

Also,  been looking for a tow vehicle...Most likely we will buy a Ford,  since we both work there.  Possible a F350 or F450.

Keep in touch...T and M, and Boys...Nicolas is still practicing guitar and getting better by the day...

I looked at toyhaulers when we were shopping for our rig, I didn't want to give up my toys, and they didn't appear to be built for full-timing.  On the other hand, they are wide open and making changes/repairs should be fairly easy.  I'd be curious to hear from folks who use a toyhauler full-time to see how they faired.  Never hurts to get good first hand insight.
