Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Bristol Campground

We are going to the Bristol race in March, just about all of the campgrounds I have called want $450-$550 for 6 nights, some require a 7 day minimum.  I would like to know if any of you have stayed at Warrior's Path State Park in Kingsport.  Any info would be helpfull.

I brought up Tennessee State Parks/Bristol and checked this park out and it looks pretty attractive, about 94 or so W/E hookups with about another 40 or so no hookups.  Looks quite nice and in a great part of the State.  Didn't see if they took reservations, but one call to the park could clear that up.  Marty

We stayed at Lakeview RV Park in Bluff City this past summer or early fall.  We really liked it there.  It is a new park, with friendly management, clean facilities, beautiful bathrooms, and a nice clean swimming pool.

It was only about $14 per night with a Passport America membership, although they may charge more during race week.

I wrote a tiny bit about it in our blog (it is toward the end of the page).

Have fun there!

John & Bridget,

I heard the reservations were way down in Daytona area for the Daytona race and the businesses began offering big discounts to draw in the crowd. Even Nascar lowered the ticket prices.

Maybe private campgrounds around Bristol will have the same problem and prices will drop....negotiate it can't hurt.

I just negotiated an average of $5000 discount off of original quotes, on room costs at three different hotels for a family reunion I'm putting together next month. All three hotels met my requested pricing for all rooms without a counter offer. If hotels are having trouble selling rooms, it's possible RV resorts are having trouble as well.

When we went to the Bristol race (we would go once a year alternating Spring or Fall race, but gave up our tickets last year because it was to hard to always fit into our schedule every year) for many years and we stayed at the Shadrack Campgound which is 375.00 for water and electric hookups.  I know this is still a bit pricy, but what we liked was the convenience that we could walk to and from the track vs fighting traffic.  Also if the weather is bad (we have been there when it has rained and snowed), we could just stay in the RV until the weather cleared vs. sitting in your vehicle at the track.

Have fun at Bristol it is a great race!!!!

Hi John and Bridget...one of the guys here at Florida Grande mentioned to us the other day that he might have an extra spot for camping at Bristol...if we can run in to him again this week, we'll see if we can get some info from him.
We're jealous.....wish we were going!

We are set up to stay at a C2C campground on the way up and WPSP while in Bristol area. On the way back we will stay a week at the SKP park north of Knoxville. Thanks for all the responses.
