Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I would like to upgrade my sound system in my 5er but am not sure exactly what would work best to replace the small speakers. I am hoping that some of you music lovers that have upgraded your system could give me some hints as to what I could use to replace the tiny speakers with that would give me a much bette...
We are so excited We have placed our order for our 2011 Keystone Montana 3400RL. We should be able to pick it up in 6 weeks. We have looked for so long and have looked at so many models. We are so excited to take this step towards our dream. We will hopefully be moving into it full time on November 1st....
I am at the research stage of buying a rig for future full timing. Haven't decided between a class A or a 5th wheel yet, but I have been concerned about what the length limit is at the state and national parks for each type. Any comments are much appreciated.
Accident was May 15 in Texas. Dealer in Tx sealed it so it is livable. Took to dealer in NJ (where we bought it) on May 24 for them to order parts, etc. They FINALLY ordered parts on July 2. We have been perstering, nagging and together unhappy with them for their unnecessary delays. We had che...
Due to wifes illness, we are selling our 2006 Cardinal. We fulltimed in this rig for 3 1/2 years very comfortably. It is 39 1/2 feet long. Three slides. Two refrigerator freezers. King bed. Loaded rig, in like new condition. Asking $38,500. Pictures available upon request.
Or even West to East? We are looking at heading to the Ozarks for a wee spell before the long haul to Arizona. Wondering if anyone has done this highway with a big rig? We have a 40' 5th wheel. It's roughly about 200 miles and a lot less miles than going down to an interstate highway. I know parts of Arkansas...
Just got this PM from Baby2020 she seems lonely but the Brideandjoy doesn't like it when I chat up strange women so for the single guys out there... Hi, My name is miss Cecilia Oma , i saw your profile today at (rv-dreams.activeboard.com) and became intrested in you, please i want you to send a mail to my e...
When I first bought my RV I filled my fresh water tank and turned on the pump and the kitchen sink. Not long after that I found water leaking on my carpet and I found that the bottom of my water filter had cracked. When I turned on the other faucets I could see the winterizer coming out and I realized I didn'...
Yesterday, I visited our local AT&T store to inquire about Internet Air Cards. Well, I wasn't met with any encouragement at all. First the CR told me that if I was going to do anything besides just check my e-mail, like surf or download music, it wouldn't work. I told him we probably wouldn't be do...
So here I am in Meford. I have looked at a couple of campsites with hookups for our 40 footer, but nothing has knocked my socks off yet. Any tips? Boondocking places also more than welcome, as we plan to do this some of the time (not necessarily in this immediate area-will be traveling around the area on...
Do you put anything in between your dishes so they don't rattle when you are on the road?I thought I remember my Gramma doing this when we were little...
We had a mighty blow and thunderstorm with torrential rain this afternoon. Much needed, much appreciated; however... I discovered a drip in the bedroom (right over my side of the bed, naturally) at a seam in the ceiling. Not a gusher but must have been dripping pretty good. Comforter has a nice round s...
We're investigating workkamping as a way to stretch our FTing dollars. When I look at job postings many seem to be for an entire season. We're thinking that in most cases we want to spend a month or 2 at a particular location. Is it possible to find shorter assignments?
Hope I posted this in the right place... I know there will be at least one cable from the satellite dish into the 5er. I have heard that some people run it through a window, etc. and that there is a kit to mount on the exterior of the 5er to plug the cable in. How do you folks do it? Looking for for some methods...
Wasn't quite sure how to word the topic. We're looking at trading from our 5th wheel to a MH. In the meantime we plan to hit the road in our 5th wheel. One of the things we'd like to have in our next rv is a roof mounted satellite. However, one of the complaints people have is that they can't get reception...
Howard, Now that you have now been fulltiming for just over 5 years, can you provide some feedback as to what kind of wear and tear you are seeing on your "home". I remember from Kerrville that you were seeing some marks developing on the carpet from the slides. Are you seeing any other wear, e...
We will be heading to Oregon from New Mexico, going through Bakersfield. It looks like we will have a couple more days than we thought-is it possible to take a drive through Yellowstone? I know campsites are fully booked, but is there any plausible way to see some of that beautiful park as a day trip?
ANyone else here using Linux and able to access the chat room? I am about at my wit's end trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong (likely) or parachat just doesn't support Linux? (Ubuntu 9.ish, everything is up to date, JRE, Firefox3.6, etc) Yet I still get the "Your browser doesn't supp...
Just curious to know if any of you FT RV'ers perform full or part time work for a call center. The reason I ask is that I have a second job which is part time as part of a call center where I am allowed to work from home. All you need is a good internet connection. Calls are received over the internet (VOIP) a...
Hi all ... newbie here (don't ALL sigh at once ... you might upset the balance of the Earth, and that's bad for all of us). Buying a new 5th wheeler (see signature) and will also be boondocking. So ... the very least I would need is a generator. Why would I need a $2,000 generator as opposed to a $1,000 genera...
I was wondering if you are still planning on trying for a fall rally in the East Coast area ? My husband and I have been wanting to attend one of your rallies now for over a year. They have been just a little too far away for us to get to. I am hoping you are still looking into it..patti

I've shared it with folks in chat and figured it wouldn't hurt to stick it up here too. :) I'm in the process of restoring a 1964 Winnebago camper. :) There will eventually be travel stuff on there too, but for now, it's just RV related. :) 1964winnebago.blogspot.com Cait
If you all read the post where I spoke of being proud of Jo's first time of pulling the Mobile Suites fifth wheel last Saturday, this is a follow up. We were driving to work this morning (Monday) and was following a semi-truck when Jo asked, "How wide is a semi's trailer?" I answered that it was...
Though not active forum members my husband and I have been inspired by Howard and Linda's adventures. In fact, Don spoke at the 2008 rally in Branson as an RV technician. We are traveling to Ft Myers FL again this winter and are interested in some input as to highways without the intense ascending and de...
We are traveling with no schedule. Example, today we setup for a couple of days and then looked at the map to determine where we go next. Then we consulted WOODALL'S and RVPARKREVIEWS.com to find a park. Of course all parks are not in either. What do those on the list use to find a park when you have not been...
Hi Just got back from a week of camping. Talking to camp hosts and dreaming. Now for your help, We have a family reunion in California next year and would love to see that part of the country camping and not a quick fly out and back. I would need three weeks for a nice trip leaving from South Dakota. How woul...
The manufacturers of the King Dome have developed a new over the air antenna called the Jack Antenna. Anyone out there using one? If so, is it an improvement over the Winegard Sensor antennas?
Next Tuesday Annette and will pick up our Damon Outlaw and prepare for fulltiming in May and head to Ft. Hood, TX. Most people are excited and cheer our adventurous spirit. However, the negative comments are very difficult and out weigh the good. I guess I should not let the opinions of others distrac...
