Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

We had Direct TV for almost 5 years and never heard of this. Sounds fishy to me.

Did you actually lose your signal or did some scammer from Nigeria tell you it was going to happen if you didn't send the money ? Like Fred I smell something fishy.

Some how that does not sound legal. Are you saying that one minute you have signal and the next minute its gone and you have to pay $ 75.00 to get it back? Who do you pay the money too.Direct TV or your Sat guy. I still think something is fishy.

John,

While we don't have our mobile set up yet on Direct TV, we have been dealing with them on our home systems for about 6 or 7 years.  I've NEVER heard of them doing anything like that.  And, reading 3 different forums, I've NEVER heard of anyone else complaining about Direct TV doing that.

I suspect that your mobile satellite people are jerking you around, but I don't know why they would.  Unless they want to stick you with service calls.

Not complaining here, so please don't take offense, but please use some punctuation in your posts.  It helps us better understand what it is that you are trying to say.

Also, since I don't really know too much about the mobile aspect of using Direct TV, can anyone inform me as to whether one has to pay an additional fee for changing of the DNS for the broadcast channels?  Could this be part of the issue that John is having?

Terry

Contact Direct TV -directly and let them know what has happened.  I agree that this is fishy.  I have had direct tv at home for 10 years and in the coach for 5 and have never heard anything like this. disbelief

There's no charge for changing DNS and locals. I've never heard of this before...as mentioned, I would contact DirecTV.
