Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Sound System Upgrade

I would like to upgrade my sound system in my 5er but am not sure exactly what would work best to replace the small speakers. I am hoping that some of you music lovers that have upgraded your system could give me some hints as to what I could use to replace the tiny speakers with that would give me a much better sound but still fit in a small space.

Thanks for your help.

Depending on your budget, there is only one word for an upgrade..Bose. Small size, huge sound.

Key words from Ron and Jacki is, "Depending on your budget."  While I have been an "audiophile" since back in the '60's, I have not been impressed with all of the speakers offered by Bose.  Years ago, I worked where the Bose speakers were sold and I didn't like them at all.  They were all priced fairly low.  Then at a conference I attended a few years ago, I did hear an awesome set of Bose.

I went up to the conference speaker and asked him about his Bose system and found that it cost him around $3000.

I am working and planning very hard to hang onto the best of my home system when we move into our Mobile Suites fulltime.  The speakers are Boston Acoustic tower speakers with a subwoofer.  They just sound so much better than the built-in camper system, so as long as the weight issue doesn't kill me, the system will go into the fifth wheel.

In choosing speakers, try to listen to music that you are familiar with and keep in mind that the speakers will sound different in your home or camper than they do in the retailer's location.
