Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Hello, New here. I use to tent camp, haven't camped in approx 10 years ago. Was getting too old to pack up and unpack, sleep on the ground on an air matteress, etc. I have now purchased a 1995 fleetwood wilderness. Have taken it out one time so far. I am hoping to meet some good Christian people to meet up...
After years of research and trying to decide if we were going to do this fulltime RV thing or not...we have now kinda...sorta....limited our looking choices to a 2006-2007 40' Tiffin Phaeton or a 2005 - 2007 Newmar Kountry Star or Ventana. Does anyone out there own any of these models and if so wha...
G'Ma and I are planning a trip to the Texas hill country over the holiday weekend. Planning on staying on Lake LBJ. As hot as it has been here, I may spend the whole time in the lake (hard to sleep in water). Anyone else going anywhere for the weekend?
We are taking our RV out next weekend and went to our storage area to drop off some stuff. We found that our RV had been broken in to and both TV's stolen. And of course they tore the cabinetry all up getting the TV's out. I know all this can and will be fixed and that in the scheme of things this is just a pimp...

I noticed a pickup the other day that had a toolbox in the very back of his pickup with a dropped center, which allowed for fifth wheel hookup without removing the box. In searching for similar boxes, I came across one website with a box designed in two different ways. One way is with the normal "to...
Wanted to say hi and stop lurking. I found this site over the weekend and find I keep coming back. While I've looked at other RV and/or Full-Timing Forums in the past, this one just has a different tone and so much fun and helpful information. I'm Carol and my SE (Spousal Equivelant) is Johnny. We hav...
Hello everyone, After lurking for almost a year, I am ready to introduce ourselves, and get started with this great family of R.V.ers! My name is Karen, my husband of almost 30 years (this October) is Al, and we travel with our 2 furkids, a golden retriever Chelsea (8) and an Irish Setter Casey (4). Grea...
We're just getting started on looking for our FT trailer (5 year plan). The kitchen layouts are sometimes very challenging! The high cabinets with all that room seem wonderful ... but I'm barely 5 foot!!!! I HATE having to get the step-stool all the time, then find somewhere I won't trip over it! (And...
We've been planning our finances on the road since like a lot of you our income is limited and are wondering if there has been a discussion of how to get cash while you are on the road and not near your own personal bank. I know ATMs but I'm trying to figure out how to do it without fees. If there has been a di...
Has there been a discussion of these on the forum someone could point me to or would you all like to comment on what you have, how you use it and whether you like it? Thanks so much to everyone who chimed in on the question of cash on the road. Thanks AGAIN to you guys, we have it all figured out. The adventure...
We wondered how many have taken the carpeting out of their rig and replaced it with either tile or wood/Pergo flooring (especially in the living/dining area)?? It seems to me that it would be much easier to keep clean. If you have done this - who did it for you? Are you happy with the result? And also ple...
Yesterday I was thinking I was going to spend another winter in Illinois but guess what today I am happy I'm not. Just signed the papers on our home, cash deal no appraisal no nothing. So now all the work really begins trying to get rid of everything. Thanks for all the encouragement yesterday. I guess th...
Last night I received a pm from some one who would not sign it or let me know who they were, telling me I needed to buy a dictionary because of bad spelling and poor grammar. I am not a good speller and it is something I try hard to work on but some times get in a hurry and fail to proof read my post and forget to use...
Hi all - My fiance Chris and I have big dreams and have made a 5 year plan to be fulltime! My youngest daughter will be graduated and we'll be on our own ... I'm a nurse and plan to do travel nursing and Chris has lots of experience in lots of things. We've read lots about earning money while FT - don't think tha...
We're in the process of shifting gears from stix and brix to full time rving. When we purchased the Fuzion a few years ago we got the impression that we could plug the ipod in somewhere and listen to it through the sound system. Uh... NOT. Just looked at amazon and saw on my wish list an ipod adaptor for t...
We have friends that are just setting out on their full-time adventure next month. We've recommended they join this forum, but they've not done so as yet. On their behalf, we've got a question. In December, they plan to be in Florida and need a place to leave their large (BIG RIG) motorhome and small d...
Well, our hits just keep on coming. Following the instance where our GE Advantium was inoperable when we picked up the MS 38TKSB3, now the inverter we have has a recall on it. In response to a thread on electrical stuff like inverters and generators, I was searching for a link to the Xantrex SW3000 for so...
Hi RV-Dreamers,Unfortunately I don't get on here as often as I would like now that our trip has ended but I hope everyone is doing well. My parents are planning to take a road trip (in an SUV, staying in motel/hotels) starting the end of August from Vermont out to Yellowstone (and visiting some other are...
Ok no one told me that waiting was going to be the hardest thing to do when it came to fulltiming. The only way for me to calm down was to resign myself to the fact we are probally going to have to spend another winter in Illinois, and that makes me shiver already. Our house has been on the market only 3 months a...
To Our RV Dreams Family, We have been full-timing for over 15 years and we have enjoyed every minute of it. The time has come, however, when we need to "slow down" and down-size our rig. Regretfully, we are listing our 2005 Teton Reliance and 2001 Volvo 770 FOR SALE. Here is all the pertin...
Someone on this website mentioned a product called Eternabond Roof Seal. I needed to redo my vents and cap seals on the MH so I bought the product. It's a huge improvement over caulking!! I'm in love with it. Once I stripped off all of the old caulking all I needed to do was to cut the tape to length and pr...
Hi All, Johnny is 100% service connected disabled and relies on the VA for health care. He has rhuematiod arthritis and early stages of diabetes so regular testing is necessary. We've finally got a great set of VA doctors here in Austin and so will keep home base here for that reason. We'll figure ho...
