Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We plan to visit Glaicer NP the first two weeks in September and have heard they close the camp grounds that time of year. I am looking for suggestions for a camp gound out side the park. We like to boondock, but don't mind resonably priced camp grounds. We will also be visiting Yellowstone after that, d...
Just a question about carseats. I was reading on a website, and it said that they were not safe in RV's. That's kinda why I was thinking about getting a 5th wheel instead of a motorhome. then i thought i may just wait till my daughter is old enough to go with out a carseat. ive got 5 more years. but what if we h...

I thought it was interesting this morning reading thru my "Comcast" headlines to find a section entitled, "The Most Bizarre and Unusual Retirement Strategies" (Below). Well ... one of those strategies is discussed often on many RV sites, including this one. Although I do...
So we left Indiana on 5 Aug en-route to Grand Junction Colorado. We decided to detour down into Kansas just off I70 and pay a surprise visit to our kids and grand kids. When we left there on 17 Aug, I was getting a little worried about the truck performance and climbing up over Vail. Now mind you, we have n...

I have a plan to be fulltime in two years or so, I've been looking online for used rv's obsessively like I'm going to buy one soon, I've always been impatient when I want something, lol. I want an exercise area with a small home gym, after looking at many floorplans I'...
Hey there, we have a motorhome right now but we have a family member who wants to get us a trailer that will be bigger and better. We got kinda swindled with the one we have now, it needs work, it is easier just to get something else...but, I'm worried about how we're going to move a trailer. We have a very sm...
We are in Logan, Utah headed to Bonneville and would like any info on what to do, where to camp and how to go about seeing the speed trials. And any other tips. (timing trials start tomorrow Aug 9) Thanks,
I was just wondering if anyone travels with fish. How do you keep the tank secure? Is it truely possible to have fish in an RV? I have always wanted to have fish. But I just wonder if anyone else has found a way to have fish and still be fulltime Rvers.
I was sitting outside at the campsite yesterday when a 5W pulled up to a site. The individual dropped a couple boards for leveling one side of his rig and then spent 20 minutes backing up and pulling forward trying to get the tires onto them. After getting into and out of his truck half dozen times to check...

I'm thinking of storage in Florida for Nov- until March. I'll drive or fly down from the NE once a month and use it. I'll tow it to a camp use it then place it back in an outside storage lot unplugged. What should I expect? Should I crack windows and roof vents to prevent mold? I store in CT here in winter and s...
I am currently considering purchasing our 1st RV. We are a family of 6 and would use it primarily for 3 hour drives to the inlaws and an occasional 1-2 week vacation around the midwest. We have come across a 1994 Winnebago Vectra 31' with a GM chassis and 454 gas motor. The unit is in very nice shape with lo...
We have a 2011 Fuzion 302 5th wheel trailer we just bought three weeks ago and there are lights on the floor as you exit the camper that stay on when the door is open. They shut off when the door is closed but also come on at night and stay on all night. Is this normal and does it drain the battery? The dealershi...

Many are miserably suffering thru the heat wave attacking most of the country. HOT ain’t fun, but perhaps we can make fun of the situation. So I have started this new topic to solicit some humorous opinions on how hot it really is where you are. How hot is it?….1- We no longer boil an egg on the stove...

This is one of my big questions, I currently live in So. Calif. and by all accounts I know I don't want Ca. to be my home state. But how did you select a home state and if I'm going to buy a 5er and a truck - selecting a state with no sales tax could save me 1 to 7 % of the cost of the unit. Besides the annual smog fees,...
I'm a newly single mother with two homeschooled boys and a worthless house cat. It has been the dream of the boys and me to spend a really significant amount of time traveling in an RV. So now, looks like we can do that. It's almost too good to be true. I work online as a medical transcriptionist and the...
Joan and I are going full time March 2012. Since we've moved into the DP we no longer have a garage for the toys (2 harleys and a jeep). We're considering a trailer large enough to carry both with us, probably 25'-30'. We intend to workamp and will be set up in one place for 3-6 months before moving along to o...
We have a 2006 F350 6.0L diesel. While we had multiple problems with a new 2003, we have had no problems with this one since we bought it new in 2006. Granted we only have 34000 miles on it, but this is almost all towing miles. I have heard that by 2005, most of the problems were fixed, but still here of som...

My DH and I had made a decision on selling our house and getting an RV to live in and to do some light traveling...bad news today. I opened a can of worms and now I have no idea where to turn now. We wanted to keep part of our property and set up the RV on it and have a yard for our herd of 5 dogs and then we could conti...
I am not sure where I should post this. I got this in my email this morning and didn't know if anyone would be affected by this recall. http://rvnewsservice.com/?p=553

Virgin Mobile in my experience has horrible customer service, I would avoid them at all costs. Quick True story, I called up using the automated system to top up a phone I purchased at Best Buy a year or so ago. $20.00 was charged to my CC, I tried to make a call and message said "Please call customer s...
