Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am getting overwhelmed. We are getting ready to move out of the s/b and into the 5er in about a month. So many questions. have seen a 12volt slow cooker at camping world. Do I need to get that I can I use the one I already have, the one I use at the house? Seems like a dumb question and trust me I will have a w...
Sage died quietly at home today. At 14 1/2 her heart just gave out. She loved to travel with us. Nothing was better to her than riding in the truck. She was always a hit in the campgrounds and loved meeting new people. She didn't much care for their pets, but she loved people... We'll miss her everyda...

Anyone here work kamp at a park in, or near the Rocky Mtns? I spent a great deal of my youth working on ranches and exploring the Rockies from BC Canada to WY. I always dream of retiring and going back. Would be great to sell all, and camp and help for a site near or in the mountains,, at least for the summer. I l...
I need some suggestions on how to stop my 5ver (35ft) from moving around when people walk in it when it is setup for camping. I have added an extra set of scissor jacks on each side in the middle of the trailer in addition to purchasing 2 sets of Wayne''s RV Stabilizers (I use one in front and one in back). S...
That canoe and I were a pair before Bunk and I. Has anyone tried putting a canoe on top of the toad while driving down the road? DH says no, not a good idea, but (tear drops) we have been together forever! I know someone will suggest an inflatable, but have you ever paddled over rocks in an inflatable, nast...

Anyone who is traveling out there, please know that several Counties in the Southern Tier of Upstate NY & bordering northern counties of the state of PA are in State of Emergancy. We had terrential downpours starting this past Wed., with major flooding of the Susquehanna River starting Wed., r...
We've had a lot of trouble the past week with our Dometic refrigerator. It IS 11 years old, so I can't fuss too much. I've been reading about possile solutions and the one that has appealed the most is replacing it with a "normal" refrigerator. I found a new Whirlpool of the right size (approx...
Before I sell my 1 1/2 ton floor jack, I just thought I would ask if it could safely lift one wheel of my my Cedar Creek 3475 RLSA. Trailer GVWR = 14085#, GAWR = 6000#. My thinking is if axle rating is 6000#, then weight at each wheel should be 3000#. Obviously I would place a 1.5 or 2T jack stand under the axle...
I shed a tear this morning as I watched a news report on the recent flooding. One of the video clips showed a Class C with water half way up on it. I know how I would feel if that was my RV.
We here in the Owego and Binghamton NY area are really getting flooded ,we are high and dry at our house but power is out and we are currently running on MH generator, we have lights, coffee and computers so all is well and we do have the MH for showers and toilet , so we are faring much better than thousands i...
I am planning to take my first solo RV trip this fall in a class C rental. I am debating whether or not to take a tow. What does one do with the trailer at the camp site? Leave it hitched to the RV? (The RV company said I can tow my car but must provide the tow equipment). Not sure I really want to tow at all o...
Greetings To All, Here's our little story, boring as it may be. One fine Sunday afternoon, after having lunch, my wife said, "On the way home, why don't we just stop at Camping World and see what they have there............ (you may already see where this is going) So, we did. We spent hours t...
My wife and I have been camping for a little of 11 years. We have a small Itasca Navion motorhome that we travel in now. We used to have a travel trailer that we wore out. We have kids and grandkids that live on both coasts and we spend part of our travels visiting and being a problem for them now. We used t...
We just bought a carbon monoxide detector for our class A. The instructions make it difficult to determine where to put it because it's not supposed to be within 20 feet of the furnace which is in the middle of the RV. Where are they placed when they come with the RV? I thought maybe we should put it by th...

Hi All,I am two years from an early retirement (62) and want to buy an RV and live in it full time and travel, too. I really dont know where to start. Right now I have some debt but excellent credit. As I have been cleaning out my house in prep. for full time RVing I have been using a portable scanner that has been such a big help. For RV living it will be ideal! It's called the VuPoint Magic Wand Scanner and eliminates the need for a traditional flatbed scanner. Even if you don't want to or don't have th...
After a couple of months of researching online and visiting local RV dealers I have what I believe will be my first RV. The Outdoors Creekside seems to be perfect for my son and I to start in (fulltime). One of the concerns I had was the cold weather in Boise and the insulation seems to be better than most...
There was some interest on this and other sites as to a single person working as a gate guard. I had emailed Timekeepers inc. about this and just received a phone call. I talked to Sue and she said they do have openings available for singles. She also said she could put people to work as early as next Monday...

Looking for suggestions for this one: Our 5th wheel front landing gear won't budge up or down. The switch activates the motor but there is a clanking like something came loose & the landing gear won't move. We've tried the hand crank also, without success. Suggestions? Thanks!

Once again our thoughts turn south. We are thinking of heading to south Texas for the winter. Anyone have any thoughts as to how the drought will affect RVers. Should we reconsider? I just want to be warm - can't handle the cold weather due to health.
We received a link to a list of favorite things one of our customers have done to improve their RV and we thought it would be fun to share it. We were very proud to make their list. http://kurumirakuru.wordpress.com/2011/05/12/top-ten-favorite-improvements/- WiFiRanger Team
