Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi All This is my first time on the forum. I am planning on hitting the road with my family in a fifth wheel for an extended period of time. Does anyone carry with them a pressure canner? I'm trying to decide if it's worth the room. I don't use it often, but when I do there isn't anything else that will work. I have already checked the depth of my small pressure cooker and it's not tall enough for pint jars. I like to lightly smoke albaco...
My husband and I own a 29' 5th wheel. We bought this RV before my husband had lower back and neck surgeries and it has greatly reduced his abilitly to level the RV. We are thinking of selling the 5th wheel and getting a Class A. Are all Class A's self leveling and if not how do you level them?
I am currently a Direct TV customer for my home and would like to get it in my RV. I do not understand anything about TV reception and before I call Direct TV and they sell me something I do not need, I prefer asking you guys who are more experienced. I have an extra HD receiver at home that I do not really need a...
We are going with our Golden, our cat, and our chihuahua (all 3.5 lbs of him!). The cat part is covered with the litter box (though we still don't know were we will put it), but I am trying to picture how the dog's plan will go. I am picturing waking up, walking the dogs, do whatever we are doing that day (eith...

Do you or your spouse have to be 55 or older to become a member of escapee or SKP RV club? I really like the escapee parks and escapee club but my husband isn't 55 until May 2013.
Hi Howard, I know there are already so many wonderful and very useful & informative topics (sections? not sure what you want to refer to them as; "Ask Howard" is one of them). How about (perhaps in the Members only section) something called "Where are You?" so that people w...
We've finally narrowed our search down to a 92-95 Foretravel U300 for our full-time retirement coach. According to the information I've found, theose come in 36' and 40' versions. The basics are the same, and there are only a few floorplans used (two or three for the 36' and usually three for the 40')....
We looked at the Thor Ace 2012 Gas Motorhome 30 foot. I have some questions Does Thor build a sturdy motorhome? We are going to live in it full-time. What problems do Thor motorhomes have? -- Edited by Kevin and Janet on Thursday 9th of August 2012 03:29:05 PM
We took a look at a 98 Monaco Signature today, nice looking coach, some, what appear to be superficial wear, but overall looked good. I do have some questions regarding a few things 1. Under the couch on the drivers side are some HVAC ducts. Is it possible to move these without too much work. 2. How d...
Hey Everyone, My name is Rick. I'm just beginning to seriously consider the Full-Time RV Lifestyle. I was wondering if any of you are in smaller 18-24 foot rigs? I just don't see myself in a 30-40 footer. I'm really wanting to find a simple, uncomplicated and frugal lifestyle. Only looking for roo...
Does anyone use the K12 program? Our state is really strict on keeping up with grade level and testing. I was just wondering if anyone has tried this and what they think. Thanks.

Hi everyone! We got back late yesterday after our weekend camping at a COE campground and thought I would share. Corp of Engineer Campgrounds are great. I know Linda and Howard like COE campgrounds also. I probably shouldn't give away my secrets, but another nice one along the Mississippi is nea...
So we got the pilot to stay lit. And we've gone almost 4 months with no hot water issues. Then all of a sudden one day last week -- POOF! No hot water. The pilot is staying lit, but the burner never comes on to heat water. I'm thinking thermostat? But someone told Kevin it might be the thermo-coupler?...
The 2012 HDT Rally will be held at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, KS October 7-13. This rally is the best place to get educated on heavy tow vehicles, get to drive some, look over all the various things you can do with them - like piggyback cars - and also to see a bunch of fulltimer coaches. In...
Thanks everyone for all your advice, here it is, my long awaited tow vehicle! I thought I was going to buy a 2000 7.3L diesel Ford Excursion in Sacramento, I thought it was a done deal, drove all the way over there, 2 1/2 hours, only to find, they sold it to someone else last night!!! Boo hoo hoo, I was so mad/...

I just bought a travel trailer and a truck and I am dreaming big dreams. I live in southern NH. Over the last 2 years, I have fallen in love with the desert southwest. I am wondering if this option is worth the extra cost. If you have owned rigs with both which did you prefer? Is the upkeep easier on full paint? We hope to keep our rig for a long time so I want one that will look good for years of fulltiming. Thanks, James
