Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Feeling really stressed w/work other family issues. Keep dreaming that it will be "better" when.....we go F/T ect....I know this can a dangerous propositon emotionally, trying to keeo it in the day, but keep thinking it will be less stressful when we get out on the road, my DH even said mos...
So…when you're in a park with no DirectTV access due to trees and using your OTA antenna to pick up channels…how do you know what channels are in the local area and how do the funky channels like 25-1 get turned in? Is there a way to easily figure this out or is it just trial and error? We've had cable for so lo...
Just joined the forum and wanted to say Hi. Priscilla and I are in the process of getting our house ready to put on the market so we can go full-time. We hope to be able to start no later than May 2013. We have our TV, 2012 F350 Lariat FX4 CC 6.7L and are pretty sure we will be purchasing an Alpine 3450RL 5er...

Recently spent 8 nights on Fun Valley RV Resort. This place is a great place to relax, fish, horseshoes, bike, hike, etc. Complete with laundry mat, grocery store and restuarant onsite. Alot of aminities for a very fair price.
In the past, Linda and I have gotten this question several times. Why do the manufacturers build specific models clearly with full-timing in mind and then say their warranties are not valid for full-time use?
My response has always been that the best manufacturers will stand behind their w...
Has anyone seen or used RV's with wood stoves in them as a heat/cooking source? I would think that because they are closed instead of open like a fireplace, and the area around the stove was designed/constructed of the proper materials, a wood stove could be used without fear of fire in an RV.
I posted some exterior pictures on the New Horizons Facebook page, but I don't think I put any here. So here is a link to an album. I'm happy to answer questions about what we did with the rig this time. Also, don't forget that our 2010 model is available at a greatly reduced price. Look here. And while I'm...

Just inquisitive? I am at my last week at the Amazon KY FC. Thank Heaven! Been here since October 24th an am just worn out. Time for some R&R down in Alabama until March. Then travel back to Cave City for a 3 month gig serving golf carts and grounds equipment. Then a toss up between Bowling Green Ky and...
We currently have a small TT that we purchased in 2007 when we weren't fulltiming and it was easy to get it financed. At this point we are in the "just looking" stage and hope to trade up in a few months. We were told by a salesman that there was a new law passed in 2009 about domecile that makes i...
The information that I can find on mountain ascents and descents is fairly general. On the incline, keep RPM’s in the power curve, think that’s 1,800 to 2,200 rpm’s for the new Ford 6.7 “Scorpion” although 2,500 delivers a bit better for me. OK fine. Descend speed, no greater than the ascent. OK f...
We're planning a trip to the Florida RV Super Show this coming January as part of our due diligence (researching plans to become full-timers). It will be fun checking out different RV's and related goodies. Even better will be the chance to connect with other RVers attending the show. Now that we'...
I'd appreciate any insight, opinion, or observations about anyone's personal involvement in a non-denominational organization which are service-oriented while traveling in your RV. I'm familiar with Habitat for Humanity (RV Care-A-Vanners), but others like NOMADS, MMAP, SOWERs, RVICS, or...
With the economy the way it is we had decided to lease the house out and have a local real estate agent manage it for us. In final talks with the agent he talked us into putting it on the market for 60 days and see what happens. That still gave us plenty of time for leasing when it didn't sell.It hit the multipl...
We can't wait! It's getting to crunch time now. Car is for sale, resignation from work happening next week. October 1 we will be heading out towards South Dakota to finish our last step to becoming SD residents. After that, the world (or at least the US) is our oyster! Thanks to all the support from fello...
We want to go down to Rockport in August to spend time with our daughter and kids. Anyone been there recently? Which RV Park would you recommend? Thanks, Pat & Charlie
We have a 2008 Mobile Suites 38RLSB3. Just lost power to everything on the street-side of the RV. No power to the living room TV, kitchen microwave, kitchen island, or the washer & dryer. Checked fuses & breakers in the interior compartment by the front door, no breakers have popped. Went out...
HI All, I have been reading about stopping to get some sleep in rest areas and such. Everything says to keep your slides in. Unfortunately when our slides are in our 5th wheel completely inaccessable. The two slides in the living room/kitchen are controlled by one button and cannot be opened separe...
I recently completed testing of the new Wilson Sleek on the Verizon 3G and 4G network. The performance report is here. It is a Google Document. Let me know if you have trouble accessing it. If you have questions you may ask them here.....
I want to get a small portable generator just to recharge camper battery and runs some lights when I'm boondocking. Any suggestions on something that won't break the bank?
Somehow we're down to 54 days until we hit the road full time. Needless to say, we have been incredibly busy going through all of our belongings, having garage sales, selling on Craig's List and giving to family and friends. Most of our furniture is gone and what is still here is spoken for. The house...

Made our reservations at this park back in May ( It's June ). One of the first things I, as a resonsible pet owner, is ask if my dog is allowed. I was told"Yes". I made our reservations and I thought that was it. I check in ( The clerk at the desk was very NON-RV ) get my site and told"Just...
