Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
My DW and I hope to start either fulltiming or 3/4 timing in the next few years. We have been looking at different RVs and we cannot make up our minds, motorhome or fifth wheel? We would love to hear the reasoning that some of you used to make that decision.....
I have a question for all of you experienced RV'er who may have had some interaction with this "group." A friend from another forum has asked me if I knew anything about this group, which appears to be out of Chicago. I am hesitant to be positive about this group because the only way one can f...
Here is a list of summer camp jobs, which I think would be ideal for anyone who loves kids, is a retired teacher, a cook, crafty or loves the outdoors. Summer Camp Jobs List
The double pane windows in my 2006 DRV Mobile Suites are beginning to fogg up badly. I presume due to losing the seal between the panes of glass. I am now researching the repair or replacement of all windows.
Full time neighbors here in the RV park have single pane windows in their 5th wheel and find th...
Hi Howard, I'm a lurker who's been following along, but always about 2 months behind. You guys are great! Anyway, it seems you have trouble finding spots with southern exposures for your roof mounted satellite dish. Is there a reason you haven't bought a tripod mounted dish that you could move aro...
We're not full time yet but will be on the road 4 different times this year with each trip being 2-5 weeks in duration. I currently have a Sprint Aircard, my husband's phone can function as a Verizon hotspot. Any suggestions to strengthen the Internet connectivity? If often seems we have very slow or i...
I was hoping to get some advice on the pros and/or cons of using a car hauler versus flat towing. I am planning on full-timing soon and can't decide on how best to take it all with me... even though I know I can't, or shouldn't.
Here is the background:
1) I have an 04 Mercedes E320, automatic, rear wheel d...
Does anyone use the Clorox Toilet Wand to clean the toilets with?? They don't get flushed so I don't think they should cause any problems, but then I've never even camped in an RV so I don't know. And if you don't, what do you use? Thanks.
Hello Everyone! My name is Melissa Davis. My husband Matt and I hope to be future fulltimers. With some luck and lots of determination, we're aiming for sometime in 2014. This should allow us time to pay off all debt and save cash to purchase an RV in full, no financing. We are young. I am 32, he is 34. I live...
I've been considering the Tradition by DRv vs the Trilogy. Both are about the same in cost. The Trilogy concerns me because of the R factor which I estimate can't be more than R-9 in the roof but seems to be better appointed than the Tradition. How does the Tradition stack up to other DRV lines?i'm a newb...
Don't know whether this is acceptable question to ask but here goes. We are having trouble with our solar system and the closest city is Tucson - any recommendations re repair? Thanks.
Well this will be our first Christmas as full-timers and we will not be going home for the holidays. Soooo, I am asking all of you out there that have been away from family and friends, just what do you do to make the holidays special for the just the two of you. Any ideas and suggestions would be apprecia...
We are newbies that have purchased a Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Longbed and are planning on buying the hitch for our as-yet-to-be-purchased fifth wheel. There are so many to choose from we could use some advise from experienced folks. Are there any suggestions or a website to go to that isn't just trying to...
Has anybody figured out whether it's cheaper to run the water heater on gas or electric? We're paying for electric here in FL for winter and wondered if leaving the heater on electric like we normally do is more efficient than shifting to gas. Electric is 16 cents per KWH and propane around 30-35 for a 40...

Hello. I've been lurking for some time, trying to gain as much info and knowledge as possible in preparation for a toy hauler purchase and possible full-timing in our future. Not sure I would want to boondock under martial law, or support a corrupt system. This situation was hot last year, all over the news. Anyone with any updates on the situation in Quartzsite? Is Police Chief Jeff Gilbert still still power tripping? -- Edited by Terry and Jo on Wednesday 28th of Novemb...
We're about ready to make the jump from our "learner" to our full-time coach, so our 2011 Heartland mpg 181 is for sale for $14,000. It is like new inside and out, and everything works. We bought it new in December, 2010, and it has a transferrable extended warranty. We've had an adult child s...
I would like to thank all the folks who provided information and help during our decision process when selecting our RV. Lots of good advice was received. I will single out RvRon, Paul Dahl and Steve Conrad ---as they were sort of mentors providing some wonderful assistance both in the selectio...

I'm looking at my route down to Florida after I leave Amazon here at Campbellsville. How are US 127 in Kentucky and SR111 in Tennessee for big rigs? If I follow these to Chattanooga it saves over 60 miles getting to I75. Thought I would ask here . Thanks!
This is Something like the "OLD GRAY MARE". And I am not like I used to be. Tried to climb the roof rack ladder this AM, got to the top and could not position my leg up to boost myself up on the roof of the RV. I finally got a capacitor for the roof A/C and was going to install it and hope for the best. M...
