Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Not sure I would want to boondock under martial law, or support a corrupt system. This situation was hot last year, all over the news.  Anyone with any updates on the situation in Quartzsite? Is Police Chief Jeff Gilbert still still power tripping?

Hey Mike, what sort of stuff sells in Quartzsite, and what are the arrangements and prices, like renting stalls? Can you just set up by the side of the road? I'm looking at adding some swap meet stuff to my online money making. What do you think about stuff like "energy healing"? (Might put my New Agey California influences to work:)

there is alot of energy healing there......normally you must rent a space in one of the market areas..............I Carve stone when I was there.....I did alot of native american work......my best seller was carving Bears and pipes...(dont ask me what they used the pipes for.....)

I sold jewlery made From Herkimer Diamonds out of ny..........airbrushed T-shirts one year......Even sold Rocks one year...soapstone and pipestones collected from all over the country.

If you have never been to Quartsite it will be an experience, you wont be able to take it all in that first time but it will be one you will never forget.....the Rock and Gem show is the biggest Ive ever dealt with.....

are you going for the show or the Dreams Boondock Seminar........either way you will learn so much!!!!

Great! It sure took a lot for the good folks of Quartzsite to get rid of that SOB, they were on every news venue they could, dozens of You Tube vids, 2 years of sold effort.

Its sad when Law enforcement takes this route..........but on the same end can you imagine what it must be like when the little town of Quartsite gets literally millions of people pulling in in such a short amount of time and your supposed to keep it under control! with a 6 man police dept.

I used to work with the sheriff's dept in psych, so yeah, I know what they have to put up with, I "get" why some police brutality happens, crazy, drunk idiots can be a real pain in the @$$. But this situation seemed to be more directed at the locals, like "selective enforcement", harrassing people, and targeting certain merchants with petty violations, and maybe even shaking people down and taking graft.

The whole thing apparently exploded when the police chief and his "goons" arrested a gal for speaking out about the corruption at a mayor's meeting; she was scheduled to speak, the mayor wanted her to speak, she was not out of line, and they simply arrested her to shut her up. Total first amendment violation. Then, 9 out of 14 officers signed a letter, complaining about the corruption, so Jeff Gilbert fired them all... so if Quartzsite only has 6 officers, they used to have more, but the good ones got fired, for being honest. Then, when it started to hit the news, he somehow declared "martial law".

Glad they got rid of him, the situation apparently wasn't making it pleasant for anyone. Looking forward to making my way there!

I like Quartsite.........had alot of good times there , made alot of money there over the years.......was going to go to the boondocking this year but I had to make the decision to stay on the east coast this year and try to keep it within a 12 hr drive of Boston.......hoping to lift my restrictions before summers out.....but if worse comes to worse...Im planning on spending the summer up in Arcadia and Bar Harbor Maine....so it wont be a bad thing anyway!!!
