Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I know this may sound like a stupid question but here goes. How do you take the screens out of the windows!!! I have moved the screen over to the middle of the window and lifting up and out - no go. Am I missing something? We are putting a finer screen over the original screen, noseeums are getting in the...
How much do you keep? We have 2 full american tourister sets. My idea is a carry-on size, and 2 small shoulder bags about the size of a computer bag. Any ideas?
TELE-STEPS TELESCOPING LADDERThe ladder will open to a height of 12.5 inches and has a safe “standing height” of 9.3 feet. I was easily able to access the top of my motorhome. You can also open it in one foot increments to the specific height needed. Ladder weighs about 20 pounds.Ladder will support 25...
Has anyone hear have a cooling blamket and if so how well do they work? It seems like a better option than running your generator all night so you can use your AC.
I'm new to RV Dreams! My name is Kelly and my partners name is Lisa. We are currently living full time in our motor home in Northern Illinois until August. Then we will take off for the road! It's been an adventure just being stationary at the campground since July but it's been a blast! Especially the las...
Recently I purchased a new fifth wheel - Rockwood Signature Ultralite and have a concern about the tires provided. The tire name stamped on the sidewall is Trail Express - ST 225/75R15. The tire load rating which is also stamped on the sidewall is 2,150 lb at 50 psi and since I have two axles the total a...
Would anyone happen to have this dealerships email? We tried to contact via their web site and it does not work. We are looking to get a 2014 build sheet for the DRV Mobile Suites. We are looking to purchase by this spring/summer-yippee! Thanks all, and Happy New Year.
Hello everyone!I am 36 years old, have a great wife and 4 children. Our oldest child is 13 and our youngest is 6. I have worked HARD all my life. I have ran 2 businesses for the last 7 years and was mayor of our small town for 2 years. All my life I have had a very strong work ethic probably to the point of being a...
Hello, all you RV-Dreamers. I am not new to this site for I have been reading and learning for quite some time. This is my first post. My Wife and I are new fulltimers and are totally loving this lifestlye and freedom. We are in South Florida after escaping the cold midwestern winters upon my retirement f...
For sure I'm a wannabe and probably and gonnabe. I found Howard and Linda's website as I have been investigating what it costs (FTing), which is a wonderful find! I'll be reading all I can to see if I think I can do it. I also considered living on a sailboat, but don't like the water all that much. Land? I li...
I'm selling our current 42' New Horizons Majestic and building a new one. This rig is built to be a fulltimers dream rig - we spared no expense when we built it, and we have 11 years fulltiming experience that went into its details. If you are looking for a luxury 5er this is a golden opportunity to get one t...
I know we've been pretty set on a fifth wheel for full timing and have pretty much narrowed it down to DRV or Heartland Landmark. Truly, ideally, we'd prefer a Tiffin MH (like the Phaeton) but it' way out of our price range and we really don't want to buy used. Anyway, we went to a smallish RV show yesterda...
I ran across a "local" story today of a home invasion in Shawnee, Oklahoma. It seems that the lady of the house took care of things quite well, although I wouldn't be sure that her choice of firearm was quite good enough. The crux of the story to me was that they have supplied the police with so...
I too am in the situation of providing my own health insurance -- self-employed for the last decade. Called my insurance agent today to find out if I can change from a local network to a national network of providers and if so what will it cost. No answer on that, but he did tell me something interesting...
In your travels....are these still available being made onsite or do you have to order them? What is the average price.........and what would you consider a good price? I used to make them 20 plus years ago and am thinking about setting up something portable to do it again on the road Thanks mike!!...
We must love this place or something . We spent close to 3 weeks here last month,, 2 weeks boondocking and 1 week in a park. Lest the area for 2 weeks and back again now boondocking for 6 more days. We are with a group of Tiffin owners this time. Then we will leave for 3 weeks and come back for another coupl...
My DW is having a great time in the 75/80 degree weather and por ole me sitting here on the other Coast, in the 40s and 50s... plus cooking for myself..and that has been a proven fact.... to be hazardest to my health.... its not my fault I'm gaining weight...but at least they put on another baker at my...
Has anyone tried them? We saw them in Q today and Diane seemed interested. You lay it on your grill and you cook on it. They demoed with chicken,, you know how that sticks,, and they even put grated cheese on it. The BBQ lines even showed through to the food. Unless I hear something bad I'm afraid I won't be...
How tough is the competion to get a decent workkamp, or seasonal job while fulltiming? I know the job market is tough out there, is that also an issue for fulltime rvers? (Great site, I'm learning so much!!)
Marriece and I are looking at being full timers in four or five months. We had a Class C several years ago which was great for short stays, but if couped up during a few days of rain, I got a bit of cabin fever LOL so Im looking at used diesel pushers with two front slides. I am a retired Railroad Machinist and...
We've been looking at trucks and it seems that both in the area we live and the area where we have purchased our 5'ver, the Lariat or higher trim level is by far the most common. We were thinking we wanted the XLT trim level, primarily because we travel with a cat. Cloth seats are much better than leather...
I just listed the Caboose on Uship trying to find someone to haul it from the marina in KY to thehouse here in TN, a distance of about 170 miles. Any guesses on what this might end up costing me? Any truckers on the forum?? Will I need to sell my firstborn and my left leg to pay for it??? LOL
I hope this topic hasn't been done to death, I can't think of a similar thread since I joined, so here goes it We have lived full time in our 04 Alfa Seeya now for over 5 months, we really do love it and have no regrets about buying it, but.......We have a big pull out couch with an air mattress in it, very nice...
I posted a new thread over on SOITC's forum a while ago and got a message indicating that my thread would be visible after moderator approval. In all the time I've been there, that hasn't happened, even when we just started participating there. And, twice today, after making a posting, I've been unab...
Hi everyone! I am completely new to the RV world. I work for the pipeline with my boyfriend and we have decided to take the plunge into the RV world. It is substantially cheaper than paying for a hotel every week (when you get it paid off finally that is ). Neither of us own homes so this RV is going to be our h...
We've been traveling for 18 months, 35,000 miles, over 120 campgrounds. I've put up a complete review of our Keystone Cougar Fifth wheel. The good and the bad. It's a honest assessment and something I would have liked to read when I first started out on the journey to full timing. There is also lots of ph...
Well after a wonderful Stop over to New Hampshire which started in July of 2011 ,(19 months of hospitals) I am counting down the days.......20 to go.......Medically I hope for the best , but I most likely will need a speech theripist to rid myself of a near fatal northern accent!!! I know I cant go far bu...
