Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Well after a wonderful Stop over to New Hampshire which started in July of 2011 ,(19 months of hospitals) I am counting down the days.......20 to go.......Medically I hope for the best , but I most likely will need a speech theripist to rid myself of a near fatal northern accent!!!

 

I know I cant go far but it just feels good to head back to the woods and mother nature......Va.  Here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!

HHHmmmmmm.................I think the original post was for on-board clothing.....in my coach it is optional....of coarse clothing is necessary if you plan on going outside!!!1........LOL


I was going to surprise you and drop in to see you but after the reply to ckerr about the clothing, I'm reconsidering..........................no!

I picked up a 96 bounder 34' for resale but decided for safety reasons ,snow and ice plus boondocking to use it on this trip out........not sure of my driving abilities as far as taking the big coach out so if Im gonna damage something I'd rather it be this one.....besides my son is only 16 and if I let him drive I just know something will happen!!....(I was 16 one time!!)

My son named it the snow bounder....have a couple of portable solar power units and my son is making a solar hot water heater .......this will be strictly a boondocking run. I figure 7 days of nature and 1 or 2 of campground to dump, do laundry and re supply.

planning on playing in the upper Shenandoah mountain area around Penn. and Va.

Cant go to far south Because of medical appointments in Boston and N.H......so I figure I would keep myself close enough to AMTRAK so I can take the train back and forth in a day.



I will definitely start a blog and keep pictures of this run........been a few years since I've done "Snow-Docking in the rough" several really good national park Camping areas in that region that allow winter camp with no hook-ups....so it will be a good time!!!!

Mike: Great news! However you best make sure that furnace works and you ave plenty of propane. However, believe you know the ropes. Maybe some where, some how, we can meet along the way. I am going to see if I can go back to my Spring job in March if nothing else comes my way. Bet you are as excited as a cat on a hot tin roof!!! LOL! Pieere

I keep telling folks that they aren't "accents."  Each area seems to have different colloquialisms that go along with the "sound" of one's speech.  Therefore, I always say that we are a country, like many others, that have different dialects.

For instance, a "round-about" in one place is a traffic circle, while down here in the southern parts of the country, we "find things 'round-about' here or there."

Its all fun and games until somebody gets a bad case of Yankee mouth!!!!!.................Dr says 5 tbl spoons of grits and a side of pork rinds should fix it!!!

I would settle for a waffle house , glass of sweet tea and a side of smothered ,covered and scattered!!!! with 2 sunny up!!!!!!

Mike>  I have found that Yankees who live in places other than metropolitian locations are personable, sociable, caring, friendly, and worth getting to know.  We southerns might make light of the accent, as they would of us, but it's all in fun...ya'll.

Respectfully suggest that you jump over to the western side of the Blue Ridge Mtns into WVA and travel Highway  219.  You won't be disappointed.
