Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well we hope everyone had a wonder Christmas and Happy Holidays this season. Now although this may sound a little out of the ordinary for most folks I am sure in the FT RV'er land this will not but one of the biggest dilemas we knew we would have is how are we going to decorate for the holidays without totall...
Today we left Quartzite and drove to Indian Waters in Indio. Once checked in our escort took us to our site where to my surprise they were having a party right across from our new home. Our escort had to have about 4 cars move from the street LOL!! Of course I jumped out and told the group of roughly 30 to 40...

Has anyone used an RV transport company? Any recommendations or companies to avoid? We are possibly buying our 5th wheel next week in OK and would want to get it back to the Seattle area. We don't have a truck with a 5th wheel hitch yet and are trying to figure out what options we might have to get the ri...
Hope everyone had a great Christmas. We were just awarded the bid for a gate keepers job at a corps lake and need to provide a surety bond. Does anyone have a company name. Our insurance company does not do bonding. Thanks
It is very embarrassing to admit but I almost got scammed in my effort to find a potential virtual position that I could do while traveling. Long story short....in the past I posted my résumé to a online job site. A scammer (though until today I didn't realize he was, though I was aware that it was li...
We have been on the road now for 43 days. Of that we have dry camped 15 days and have paid from $0 to $20 for a dry camping spot. The highest single night fee was $31 and our highest weekly averaged to nightly was $25.97. Our overall average per night so far is $18.53. But that will go down because we are dry cam...
My neighbor recently had his eyesight fail. He had to move to a care facility and asked if I could put the word out about his home for sale. I made a web page with photos and all the details. If you are interested in a park model on the Oregon coast for a home base, full time or investment, check it out. Thanks....
What with this being the end of the Mayan calendar, Jo and I did not buy any Christmas cards or gifts. After all, if the world ends today, no one will be able to open presents on Christmas Day anyway. [IMG]https://i1190.photobucket.com/albums/z458/TerryandJo/Nonsense%20Stuff%20Not%20Rea...
Greetings Everyone - I have a few questions, maybe some of you might have the wisdom and answers to. 1. Does SSD vary from state to state? 2. Does it matter when it comes to home base state? 3. Is medicare excepted nation wide? Thank you in advance for your responses. Ann
I guess we visualized something even more. But thats what we figured would happen the first year out. Finding the spots that fit US. It's sunny here and temps in the 60's is good compared to Oregon but I think we are looking for the 70's.
Not sure where to post this... I'm looking at all kinds of floorplans (something I do to keep the dream alive) and on one of the sites (rvt.com) which has an extensive collection of listings, they have toterhomes listed. This is something that in my 2+ years of research I have never come across before....
Wow! Chef Pieere and his crockpot! I found a cornish game hen used some chicken powder from Marauchen noodles and some cut up brown onions. Made a broth put it in my 2 quart crock for 3 hours. Transferred it to a pan and put it in my Rv oven and basting it with margarine and broth. Now I will bake my Sweet Potat...
We are starting our first workamping job next week! We wanted something in CA, near my parents, to spend Christmas through April. A job was posted on Workamper.com which fit the bill perfectly. After talking to the owner, e-mails back and forth, and phone interviews, we finally got the job. We are at C...
My husband was saying something this morning about how many of the workcamping positions work as small business. That when the Affordable Care Act goes into affect they will either have to provide insurance or pay under the table. Then we will get penalized. What is everyone's take on this? For those...
Well we went and did it ,we bought our truck , a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500. We decided to take the plunge as we are taking a trip out to the DRV and Lifestyle factories in July '13 and hoping to make a deal and bring one home !!
Hey Howard,,, I know a short while back you mentioned that you broke down and bought new house batteries. I have searched and searched to find what it was you decided on but I'm having no luck. Can you tell me what they are?? It seems we are in need so I'm doing my research again. It seems that all I do at ti...
I haven't found this tripod talked about anywhere on the forum so thought I would share. Check out www.tv4rv.com I purchased one last September and what a difference...it makes setting up your dish a snap. It's a surveyor type of tripod and mast that comes with a compass and level as well accessories...
Something to think about......... Why is the ABC Alphabet Song and Twinkle , Twinkle little Star...........Sung to the same tune!!!!!! 2nd Question: would you be willing to admit to the rest of us you just sang these 2 songs to prove what I Said?
I was wondering how many of you have bought a used RV, and would you do that again or just buy new one next time. I can see the advantages of letting someone else take the hit on the depreciation and getting all the new problems resolved, but I also worry about all the things you may not find out about until i...
Connie and I will be heading up to Edmonton, Banff and Jasper National Parks for about 6 weeks in the spring and wanted to see what advice ya'll might have for internet access. We normally use a WiFiRanger Pro to connect to park wifi with a Millenicom Verizon based aircard as backup. Obviously the airca...
I am sure this has been covered before but here goes anyway. Has anyone had trouble getting you wife to even talk about RVing. I have had a dream of RVing for several years even bought a TT to try to get her to ease into just trying it. That went over like a lead balloon. She went a couple time and made the trip t...
Danielle and I have been towing with an HDT (Heavy Duty Truck, aka a semi truck) for the last 9+ years. Our truck is a Volvo 610 with a custom hauler body on it. It is a dream to drive and travel in. Because we now own a smart car and want to carry that "piggyback" on the truck bed, instead of towing d...
Hi everyone, Let this be a lesson to you don't go cheap when installing a water filteration system. I purchased a GE water filteration system from the local Home Depot. I thought this would be great because i could then purchase the replacement filters there later when I needed them. So far so good righ...
