Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Marriece and I are looking at being full timers in four or five months. We had a Class C several years ago which was great for short stays, but if couped up during a few days of  rain, I got a bit of cabin fever LOL so Im looking at used diesel pushers with two front slides. I am a retired Railroad Machinist and heavy equipment operator and mechanic, so trouble shooting and light repairs should be a snap, (getting my spell check to work is another matter) but some sort of extended warrenty is a must, as Im 72. Have also drove low boys hauling heavy equipment so driving will be a pleasure for me, also an avid Jake brake fan LOL

The deciding factor is that I just finished my cancer treatments and the next Pet Scan will determin if Im cancer freeashamed. If im free it will be a big green light to go with it.biggrin

Realy enjoy this site as tons of excelent information here, whoever started this site, kudo to ya.

Wishing all good weather and Hi Fivessmile....John Warren

Welcome, John.

As Mike mentioned, this is a good site for both research and encouragement.  As for the spell check, there is a little icon at the top and to the right when one is composing a post.  Clicking on that icon with the "ABC" and the checkmark will activate ones post area to put down a little red squiggley line when one is typing to indicate that a word is mispelled.

Now with the English language and its similar sounding but different spelling words the spell check doesn't help with.  One still needs to know when there is supposed to be their, or whatever.

Glad to have you as a part of the forums and the RV Dreams family.

Terry

Welcome John, you'll find wonderful information here. i use the search tab at the to of the forum pages to research subjects. Hi Terry, evidently that spell check feature is not available on an ipad, at least I can't find it.

John, Welcome. My wife is a cancer survivor, now free for 15+ years, but always looking over her shoulder,so to speak. Those of you who have been there know what I am saying. I tell you this only to encourage you to pursue your dream, especially because of what you have been through. We wanted to pursue this lifestyle in 1999, but were afraid to be too far from needed treatment. In retrospect,(hindsight is always 100%), we saw that she could have gotten whatever she needed anywhere. Just would have required some creativity.
On the owners forum for the brand of RV I have, I communicated with a couple who always wanted to buy that type of rig, and park someplace beautiful by the water. They were able to do that, even in the face of a discouraging prognosis. I prey that your news is the good news you deserve. If not, consider if it is possible doing what you want, even if you need further treatment. We humans are very creative beings. I wish you the best possible news.

Welcome from another NorCal RV'er. Recommend  DeMartini in Grass Valley,  they have a great selection of used DP's.   We are static for the winter if you want to meet up sometime to discuss DP's or full-timing.

I am a Hemophilia and My Wife has MS. We are in our early 30's and will not let this hold us back from pursuing our dreams. We are going to do now what we might not be able to do later.

Dont look back!

John & Marriece, Richard, and The Sampsons; Welcome to the forum. My brother and I started living in an RV in 1994 after we both ended up divorced. In 1998 he found his 2nd wife and I found an older Truck Camper cleaned and painted it and through several trades in 2005 ended up with the 1988 Class C; I have at present. I don't remember to many on this forum who have reverted back to their sticks and bricks cause they were disgusted with this lifestyle. Enjoying all life has to offer.

Hi, John in CA like us! Wishing you a great recovery and the green light to carry on. Being diagnosed with Valley Fever last year changed my life...and reminds me/us not to wait to make our adventures happen. Looking forward to your future posts.
