Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I hate paper shredders! Big, noisy, expensive and they clog and break all the time. I usually put my papers in the BBQ! But I came across these "paper shredder scissors" which are like 5 scissors screwed together, for $10 or less. Fits in a drawer, no electricity! I ordered some, thought I...
Morning everyone! Any other Wannabes out there who are having RVing withdrawal? 116 days to retirement. Yeah! Still haven't convinced Hubby that fulltiming is the way to go, so we will be part-time fulltimers. If that's the best I can get, I'll take it! We put the Tradewind in storage in November a...
You know all those things you always wanted to do?.............. Trust me on this one..... You should go do them..........Life is short ,live it to its fullest!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- Edited by Lucky Mike on Monday 4th of February 2013 05:42:13 PM
I notice that no one is talking about Teton any more. Although they seem to have an active website, the copyright date is until 2010. Is it safe to assume they've gone out of business? If not, how would their line compare to the DRV and New Horizons?
Good to know there's a term for us future full-timers that know we're going for it. Gonna-be. I like it. Anyway, I'll start out by apologizing for not divulging names or actual location yet as we don't want someone (i.e. employees or employer) googling around and finding out what we're doing. We'll be...
Hello all, Eric and Deb here! We are somewhat new to this life style, so I've enjoyed reading all of the good advice here on this forum. I did quite a bit of camping as a kid, so I have some idea of the fun to be had! My wife and I were very avid boaters and have spent the last 10+ years on the water. We sold the boa...
Steve and I are working our first volunteer job. We are at Lake Mead National Recreation Area. 32 hours in exchange for our site and full hook ups. We are doing maintenance which consists pretty much of litter pick up and Oleander trimming. The hours we work are very flexible. Did I mention that we have t...
oh hi, just wondering who may have stayed at the grand canyon rv park? Also, have you taken the train or bus ride while there? And if so, was it worth it? THANKS!!
I also posted this in Community Chat under the thread "just a thought" then decided it really should be under this forum. Two days ago we spent several hours on the side of the road with our RV waiting for roadside assistance to find us help. Many calls later they came through with the "...

I would like to encourage RV-Dreamers before or after the Quartzsite Rally to come visit Organ Pipe Cactus National Mounument. This National Park is a gem that should not be missed. The news media has done great harm to all areas that are on the boarder. Yes there are people who traverse the boarder i...
Linda, Based upon Howard’s write-up about the Dynamax Trilogy, which the two of you recently toured, it appears that you enjoy using your propane oven. I was curious to understand your reasons. Our current plan is to have a convection/microwave oven and propane stovetop. Use the space below the sto...
Next week we will be driving down the gulf coast of FL from Cyrstal Rivers to Sanibel. Planning on staying about two weeks. Visiting family in Cyrstal Rivers and staying with friends on Sanibel Island. Thinking about looking at class "A" MHs as we travel. What RV dealers would be the b...
We have a 2003 Mountaineer, but the cost of setting it up for a toad is more than we want to spend on this vehical. So we are looking for something else in the Ford family.Does anyone here have experiance with the Ford Edge? Wayne
I'm wanting to prepare for fun full time RVing! I want our 5er to feel like home - but know we won't have space for picture frames. As I'm beginning to downsize, I'm going through photos of family. My questions are this: Do you scan and place photos on flash drives? Place them on memory cards? Do you pla...
Our first born just had his first born! Son Rob and daughter in-law Angie welcomed 7lb.3oz. Conner Lyndan Colibaba at 8:43 a.m. We are so excited. We have been roaming North America for almost 32 months now and have met many Grandparents that have warned us that things will change when the grand kids ar...
I know you guys probably get this question a million times! But I want to be sure I am doing the math correctly. I would be pulling a DRV Mobile Estate. Now forgive me if this is a repost as I had written one late last night but it didn't show up, or I didn't hit the submit button... who knows. So if this is a dup...
I was at Walmart yesterday when I felt the truck rock. I got out to see what had happened when low and behold there was a pickup truck tight against the rear bumper of my truck. I uttered the words " What the H#!!" but not yelling just at normal voice level kinda just saying to my self. Then I ask w...
Does anyone have experience with this? We purchased ours in November 2011 right after getting our 2000 Tradewinds MH.....my husband thought he researched the tow issue fully and liked the Escape as it would be his everyday car too. Now, Motorcoach magazine has come up with the news that this car ma...
Hooray! We just ordered our 5er, a 2014 DRV Mobile Suite 36 RSSB3. Expected delivery is mid-late May. Our current plan - etched in Jello - is to start out in NW Arkansas then head to NE Kansas to visit family. From there, who knows? It's all very exciting and just a bit surreal to think that our RV dream w...
What way did you attach your solar panels to your roof? Did you use screws or the 3M double sided tape? If you used the tape, how has it held up? I hate the idea of drilling holes in my roof.
Best Regards!

Oh joy, sitting on the side of I-10 highway between Tucson & Phoenix waiting for AAA RV Plus (sure hope they're good!!) to come and repair rear driver's side wheel blow out on rig. Some what appears to be minor damage to rig. Where are the Pressure Pro monitors when we need them?!

Hi there, we are soon to be taking to the road as well. Hubby is retiring in March and we hope to be on the road by May. We are still searching to find a 5th wheel toy hauler that will be big enough but not too big and hold up to full time use. We both ride motorcycles and want to do a lot more of that on our adventure...
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on a front living room 5er? Getting ready to order our future full timing home when I ran across this unit. We have picked out the Cardinal 3450RL but this one looks like it has a little more living space. Would appreciate your input as to pros and cons sinc...
